    I love the way of playing this game... 8 players in the same console, its not boring, but i dont like the price... it should be 35$, and when you play a lot of time, its so bored

    This is an excellent game, the campaign is awesome and you can play it with a friend alongside with you, very difficult and challenging to play it together, hours of fun online and some customization for your characters. If you like Bomberman you must have this one also. Please enjoy all video games.

    I definitely wouldn't say this game was worth the 50 dollar price tag, but overall I have had plenty of fun with the title. While the online play is not the best, with some lag and a problematic pairing system as others have mentioned, I felt that the single player and the local multiplayer was pretty solid with it being quite easy to pass a joycon to a friend or family member and justI definitely wouldn't say this game was worth the 50 dollar price tag, but overall I have had plenty of fun with the title. In general, the gameplay is a pretty standard Bomberman experience and while there are definitely better entries in the franchise out there, for those perhaps new to the series or just looking to have another multiplayer game for the Switch, this game is well-suited for that. Also, some mechanical issues have been fixed, such as the framerate. Hopefully, Konami will make a bigger and better sequel in the future if they feel this game has rekindled interest in the franchise. If you can get this game for around the 20 or 30 dollar price range, I'd say it's worth it to just have another game to play at parties or when you have friends over. I give it an 8/10 just because I can't give it something like a 7.6… Expand

    El juego regresa a sus raíces, muy entretenido y con un componente cooperativo muy interesante.
    Conforme ha pasado el tiempo ha recibido algunas actualizaciones que han mejorado notablemente la experiencia.

    Seeing the overly stylized art on the cover and transitioning to the extensively bland in game graphics is seriously jarring and feels like a missed opportunity. But graphics aren't what's important to a game. Yet with that said, i think the presentation is a reflection of this games simplicity and need to play it safe. it is Bomberman, that's it.     Fantastic Multiplayer, 100% recommend. If you own a switch this is a must have multiplayer game. Konami should keep making games like this. I don't remember the last time I had this much fun playing with family and friends, but this game sure made me have tons of fun.

    el mejor juego de bomberman que ha salido. simplemente me encanto, no tiene mucho contenido en modo multijugador mas que los mapas especiales y los sombreros pero dado que konami esta actualizando el juego e incluyendole nuevas cosas la experiencia de juego va mejorando cada dia mas. solo espero que salgan las mascotas :)

    Very good game with pretty graphic for a Bomberman game :) The story mode with 50 level (playing in coop mode) its very good and challenging !! The multiplayer is very cool on local or online ;) Perfect party game ;)

    Though the boss battles are random and the online is slightly laggy, Bomberman will always be one word, fun. Whether playing multiplayer or story thats what stands out the most.

    This is an amazing game and tons of fun with friends. Great launch title for the Switch and great to have Bomberman back! Some of the negative reviews are around price. If you buy through Best Buy with their GCU discount of 20%, you can get this for $40 vs. $50. This makes the game worth it. Although its very good, don't pay $50.

    This game is along the lines of what I was hoping for in a Bomberman game. I am not terribly familiar with the franchise but there is no denying this one does it justice. On playing in the middle difficulty, the game is quite a challenge. Some might even have their work cut out for them in easy mode! The graphics are nice, i have no idea how people expect a sweeter package than this. TheThis game is along the lines of what I was hoping for in a Bomberman game. I am not terribly familiar with the franchise but there is no denying this one does it justice. On playing in the middle difficulty, the game is quite a challenge. The online mode is a bit funny placing you in the "baby league", you would have to play this game for hours on end just to be good enough to get out of the starting class, which might be what the game was intended for.. something you can sink hours into. Its hard! I put some time into it but as I mentioned before, I'm no Bomberman pro. I'm currently investing my time in another Switch title many are familiar with, but I intend on spending a great deal of hours getting good in this one! Can be good for a party game for sure, although 50 dollars is a bit steep for something to play so casually. Jumping into online mode and playing free battle is quite fun. Music is great. With 50 levels and an online league and updates in the future, its titles like this that keep me paying attention to video games… Expand

    The story of this game is simple, and surprisingly one of the better parts of this game. Especially the animations and cutscenes are well-designed - but do not get your hopes too high: This game is a disappointment.

    The gameplay itself is the classic experience you love and came here for. With up to 8 players you can experience multiplayer-battles which are short and fun, but also quite repetitive. The Single-Player-Campaign has a Co-Op-Mode, which makes it at least a bit playable. As mentioned in the introduction, the controls are frustrating at points and especially the Online-Mode does not work properly.

    The graphics and design of this game are outrageous. The first second you start the game, see the main menu of the game and listen to the sound, Konami lets you know that they do not care about either you or the game itself. I am not exaggerating - the soundtrack is one of the worst I listened to in the past few years.

    The overall experience is short, since it is designed to be played local with friends. Especially for the price of 50 euros, this is a big **** you" from Konami to all customers who trusted them to release at least a decent game at launch.    … Expand

    Es un juego muy muy entretenido y puedes pillar un buen vicio de 3 jugadores en adelante, ya que puede jugar hasta 8 jugados con una misma consola, tiene un modo online que si encuentras 3 personas para jugar tambien te puedes entretener mucho, lo malo es que normalmente online encuentras 2 o 3 personas. Cualquiera que alla conocido los primeros bomberman le sacara mucho provecho a este juego

    This has 50 well crafted levels which are puzzles, boss battles, and 8 player multiplayer!

    The levels are fun and getting all your buddies together is something many other games Don't do.

    The hate train rolling over this bc the ISO perspective and gamers treating this style like its less deserving of a retail release.

    Another great Bomberman game to add to the collection. This one supports up to 8 players. So far i have only played with 2 players and it was fun yet somewhat challenging. Boss fights are awesome when playing story mode with friends. The only downside is the price, maybe £10 cheaper would of been a better selling point.

    For me as a bomber man fan it is absolutely great to play again with my friends. Hope that the price will go down to something like 29.99 or 19.99 so more people can enjoy it. :)

    As someone who long lost interest in the Bomberman series and wasn't putting any faith at all in this game, I was pleasantly surprised. Good characters, good humour, good gameplay, all things that I never expected to see again from a ip owned by Konami, seing their recent distancing from games as a whole. It's a good experience if you like Bomberman games.

    Absolutely amazing / fun / colorful and down right one of the best games out. This is why Nintendo is number one. Great graphics and online multiplayer is so much fun. Story mode is also a real treat.

    Decent for a bomberman game, Updated frequently and brings the genre to a next level. A lot of map and more to come, graphic wise is also decent. Very fun to play with friends and also very unique. Big improvement for the franchise and definitely my favorite Bomberman game.

    I loved Bomber man as a kid so I was excited to pick this up, despite the $40 price tag and against my better judgment I decided to get it. After about ten minutes I immediately regretted this purchase. Way overpriced, excruciating story, and an AI that plays flawlessly. Wish I could get my money back.

When I played Bomberman 64 I knew exactly when I was around the corner and exactly how far I needed to move the stick to get around corners, but I found myself getting caught on edges and not able to scoot around corners to avoid bombs very well. I am not sure if that is because of the slightly slower speed Bomberman seems to move, or because of a weird hit box on the character itself, but nonetheless the game handles funny, and doesn't seem right. Other than that this is 100% classic Bomberman with very little gimmicks. The addition of different colored Bombermen/ladies having actual character traits is a fun addition to the game, and the single player additions made me happy, but sadly the odd-feeling controls made the bosses on single player super tough, as they boost and scoot around the arena, dropping bombs like mad men, whilst you trudge along getting blown up a little too often for comfort. Anyone who is a big fan of the Bomberman franchise is most likely going to enjoy this one as well, but if you don't have nostalgia for the old games you can probably keep moving on this one, especially at the $40 price tag.… Expand

    Really wanted to love this game as I've had a version of it on a Nintendo handheld before.

    I will say that the team working on this have successfully recreated a retro look, but perhaps too well. To my eyes it's often hard to follow the action of your little character leading to a lot of frustrating mishaps. It is fun though (despite this aspect) and I'm looking forward to playing    Really wanted to love this game as I've had a version of it on a Nintendo handheld before.

    I will say that the team working on this have successfully recreated a retro look, but perhaps too well. To my eyes it's often hard to follow the action of your little character leading to a lot of frustrating mishaps. It will be impossible to unlock everything without devoting every bit of your free time to this game for the next year or so... and with so many better titles out there for the Switch, it's not even worth trying to do. I really like the artwork in the game and I'd like to see it succeed, but the developers just don't seem to care enough to fix the problems people have been bringing up, which is pretty disappointing.… Expand

    I was hoping or Splatoon or Rocket League like competitive online matches. What I found was the rank community is already dead. Average 5 minutes in the queue just to wait for a single player to join a four player game.

    Overall quality feels like a game that should be $15 selling for $60.

    Power ups return from previous games, and the appeal and timeless gameplay is pretty self explanatory here. As a home console game and portable multiplayer system out of the box, it represents the    Bomberman is back, with the classic gameplay along with a Story mode , filtered through a 2d/3d isommetric reworking of the original gameplay styles featured on the Snes, nes N64 and Wii.

    Power ups return from previous games, and the appeal and timeless gameplay is pretty self explanatory here. As a home console game and portable multiplayer system out of the box, it represents the strong appeal this IP represents for single and local multiplayer. Having a 2 joy con controllers out of the box with the Switch is very helpful, allowing 2 players from the get go...

    Playing through multiple modes and taking on bosses is a blast (i dont recall the boss battles being this fun in the early ones).

    Bomberman is back, unfortunately, saying so much for that, his anniversary needs to have a little more pizzazz given to it. Just doesn't feel the same compared to when Bomberman was first released. Give it time to look at it before you consider a purchase otherwise it wouldn't be fair to let all the Switch hype go down to waste.

    Un juego divertido y entretenido para jugar en grupo. El modo versus permite partidas de 2 a 8 jugadores, es sencillo hacerse con el control e ideal para partidas rápidas.

    El modo historia también está bastante bien y se puede jugar en cooperativo.

    Le he puesto un diez para compensar la nota media tan baja que tiene actualmente y que no refleja en absoluto la calidad del título.

    A classic I recommend the best for now in video games. If you are bored of those games with a bestial graphics and running slow in the most powerful consoles in the market. And they walk at 30 fps and at 1080p. Buy this game you will only have fun for hours and try the online mode to play without stopping .....

    I can not say, it is worth the wait, but i can say it is a good try at Bomberman's return. The single player is fun, but it just does not feel quite up to par with the other Bomberman games.

    Bomber Man R was my first Bomber Man experience, and it made me feel like I wanted it to be my last.     Controls don't feel responsive at all, and this becomes even more apparant in online modes which suffer from horrific lag issues and dropped packets which often lead to several combatants bombing themselves out of the game. 4/10 for local multiplayer which is still reasonably fun but the controls wrestle you every step of the way.

Using an isometric three-quarters viewpoint, the single-player adventure mode places you on slightly more complex maps than multiplayer, tasking you with simple objectives such as killing all enemies, stepping on switches, or escorting terrible A.I. controlled characters to the exit. Each world is comprised of 10 stages, with 8 being the former affairs, and the final two being a face-off against an A.I. Bomberman opponent, usually with unique bombs, followed by a boss battle against a large enemy. This mode can also be played co-operatively with one local friend, though it runs a higher risk of damage as the camera splits focus between the two of you and there is friendly fire. It's far from tragically bad, but equally as far from great fun.

    Battle Mode returns for up to 8 players, either locally on one system, via LAN or even via the internet. This mode is the standard affair of blowing up all of your opponents and being the last one standing. There are no team options, no customization of power-up distribution, no alternate objectives and only a handful of map styles. This results in fairly stale gameplay for players who have played the series throughout the years, as customization has been prevalent in many more recent entries. Players can customize their Bomberman characters' heads with 'hats' purchased from an in-game shop with gems earned during Adventure Mode or Online Battle Mode matches, but beyond that it's simple on/off switches for in-game functions and timer adjustments. It works well in local play, even if the controls in the game feel oddly slippery at times with bomb placement being unreasonably difficult to do quickly.

    Online multiplayer is where this game would have had a real chance to shine, though, with the ability to host your own lobbies and invite friends to join. Unfortunately, using Quick Play results in constant lost connections in lobbies, and when a match does begin it is a slide-show with almost completely unresponsive controls. This is unfortunate, as the gameplay is passable enough that this could prove entertaining if functional online. I was unable to complete a single match against random players without some form of excessive lag, no matter my region settings.

    Overall, the game is decent, maybe even a really good choice if you have a lot of friends who can play locally with you and also love Bomberman. Just about anyone else, however, should keep their eye on the price tag and catch it once it hits bargain prices, as it just isn't up to snuff against its former glory that cost a mere fraction of the entry price.    … Expand

The multiplayer mode is very fun and highly competitive and is probably the best part of the game. Being able to play as characters from other Konami games is pretty awesome too.     you start by choosing your character at the start of a chapter and you just drop bombs... these bombs will destroy objects in your place as well as take out enemies, you’ll find pickups to increase your speed for example or the amount of bombs you’re able to carry and drop…
    but you use these rules of bomb dropping and enemy slaying to complete these tasks…
    and none of the levels really get too challenging to solve or even though provoking.. There are a few... especially in the ice levels towards the end... but they are far too few and far in between... I would’ve liked having to use my brain more like I did in these ice levels as I’m sliding around like the caves in a Pokémon game… but for the most part all 3 hours of this game really remains the same... so it for the most part just feels like you’re going through the motions...
    it is possible to die, and you will a lot from blowing yourself up or enemies getting you, but you are able to spend gems to continue… gems earned both from completing chapters as well as in multiplayer…
    and at the end of these chapters there is again a boss battle.. These are probably the best moments of the game where you’re trying to trap your opponent and hit them bit ha bomb to then go against them in their final form to unlock the next stage…. These moments before the final show down do offer a bit of challenge and are better than the boss battle show downs themselves...
    Outside of the campaign there is a multiplayer mode where you’re facing 4 opponents to try and take each other out... be the last bomber standing…
    you can play locally as well as online, but I found it to be impossible to find enough players online to get any matches either ranked or unranked.. So unfortunately bomber man doesn’t realistically go beyond its 3 hour campaign which is a shame... sure you can grind for cash to unlock the many characters... but for what?
    Online is a ghost town.

    This is a fun game! It is. Problem is Konami or the game. There's this strange input lag and you know as well as I that Bomberman is a game is accuracy and immediacy. When you got input lag and you're trying to place bombs at a moments notice its terrible. KONAMI has recognized this as an issue and hopefully a patch will be out soon. Otherwise it's a very good game. Basic. Bomberman.

The AI in the multiplayer battle mode are so good that, unless you're playing alongside friends, you'll almost always be groaning in frustration as they eliminate you easily and then fight themselves. The campaign mode isn't fun, and more often than not you'll end up dying from the irksome navigation that's caused by trying to play a game that wants you to move in four directions most of the time with a joystick. there's little enemy variation, and it's ridiculously annoying to spend more time on all of the other enemies combined to try and blow up the last guy.… Expand

    i have had so much fun with friends, its so easy to play with anyone. but with the little content presented and the terrible in-game currency brings it down. overall it's worth it if you have a lot of people to play with, but other than that wait for a price drop.

    Super Bomberman R when you get down to the core of the game itself, is a great launch title for the Nintendo Switch that will allow fun at home or on the go, solo or with friends. If you can ignore the steep asking price compared to previous Bomberman titles, then there is a lot of fun to enjoy.

    An ok game, but it isn't worth the price. It's pretty boring in single player mode, co-op campaign is ok, and online battle is fun. It feels like yet another disappointment on the switch. It is the kind of game Nintendo should give away for free when they start charging for the online service.

Couple this with some laggy online gaming, and it can become frustrating fast.

The most you will get with this game is the online mode, but it's the same basic multiplayer mode, but with more lag. Its soundtrack and graphics are fine, but it won't help your experience with this overpriced game.
    (Seriously, it costs $50, and it's not even worth $10!)

    Por estas cosas duele el hecho de que Nintendo haya sacado la Consola Virtual, ya que ahí teníamos el Bomberman '94. Es una pena.

    Bomberman is at its best with visual clarity and snappy controls. Super Bomberman R delivers neither of those. Sometimes "better" graphics are detrimental to gameplay, as is the case for this game. The character variety is nice, but Bomberman with wonky controls just isn't enjoyable.

Of course the english voice acting could be better (the weakest being the voices of White, Red, Yellow and Plasma bomber) and the online mode is laggy as hell to work properly.     For me, Super Bomberman R seems like a boring, stale game. For me its biggest flop was how little content there is. If you're a long-running Bomberman fan, you might like this but for someone who's the series first game was this, it didn't interest me at all.

    Fun game, especially if you can find friends to play it with. But it's way too expensive and a bit light on content. I'd stay away if you're not a huge Bomberman fan. Try Super Bomberman R Online instead.

    Pretty good game for the return of Bomberman after all this time. Apparently there's problems with multiplayer, but the online appears to be dead so I wouldn't know. The local co-op and single player modes are great however, and the inclusion of other Konami characters as skins is amazing.

    A blast from the past! A good old Bomberman in its glory. A fantastic game if you enjoy playing with your friends in a co-op. I didn't enjoy the story a lot and the single-player mode was to short in my opinion, but it was still fun to play. A wide variety of enemies, nice boss battles will not disappoint you.

    Not even have a summary page showing kill/death after each game. Maps too hard to collect, and cannot resell unwanted maps.

    i'm seriously disappointed on this game, the game had a decent potential, but man is when you really play the game pretty dumb, and nothing of expected, it was so boring and really lacked a strategy to the game itself, you just had to go random without a strategy, an easy way to win the game, yet with the storyline being kinda horrible too.

    For one of the only Switch launch games it was pretty good, but now it's a pretty average arcade type game.

    Not sure why so many critics have rated this game so low as I think the game looks and plays good, it will certainly be fun at Christmas parties! Yeah, there's not much involved in dropping bombs next to other players but it still seems fun without being frustrating or boring like some multi-player games. Recommended.

    This game is...fine and that's it. I just get frustrated with the game, I never find a good reason to go back to it. I think the story is...ok...and so is everything else, but this game is fine to a solid MEH.

    I mean, if you want a simple multiplayer game based on this franchise, this is a good choice, but the campaign and overall the single player mode is lack of something special. Buy it if you have a lot of friends to play with

    Fly-proof Bomberman's gameplay never grows old. Even this time it works out well, despite the occasional stumbles over confusing arenas. The biggest issue of the game is its outrageous price.
