    This is one of my favorite games. Excellent. The concept is so simple but the game-play is so addicting. There are a limited number of songs but they're so good and the game play is so good that you somehow don't get tired of the same songs. I find myself saying, "just one more match" over and over again only to realize I have played this game into the wee hours of the morning. Very goodThis is one of my favorite games. Excellent.     One of the best games I played! Nice graphics, wonderful soundtrack, good single player mode, good online mode. The DLC of this game is good too and 20€ worth. A game you can play the hole time, really really good.

    This is, hands down, the best multiplayer game on Switch. It is a totally unique shooter with mechanics not contained in any other, and this combined with its adorable, colorful world mean it appeals even to someone like me who is not often into shooters.     Super fun and I love to play with friends. Fun game. Awesome 3D. The octo expansion pack is a nice thing too that makes it like a regular video game where you can earn cool skins.

    My first bought game for Nintendo Switch. Different from any shooter style game. I love the idea of using brushes and painting tools as weapons. I´ve never played the original Wii U game, but the octopus/squid universe it´s so funny and colorful. Story mode is interesting and long enough, but really prefer the online mode. Matches and team battles make the game unlimited. SpeciallyMy first bought game for Nintendo Switch. Different from any shooter style game.     It's a so coll game and I like the concept of a kidfriendly shooter!

    The story is very nice and the octo expansioon is a must have for Splatoon fans!

    De los mejores juegos de NIntendo Switch, divertidisimo y adictivo, sus modos de juego quedan a la perfeccion con el juego, su online va bien. Y con la llegada del DLC el juego da para muchas horas

My dreams came true, we got a sequel to one of the best online-multiplayer games out there, right on the Nintendo Switch. Splatoon 2 is great for both returning players such as myself, or new players. But with Splatoon 2 being a Nintendo Switch exclusive title, new players can experience an even better game than before.
    With much better graphics, more modes, tons of new features, and much more, this game is easily worth the price-point in my book. While the game's focus is its multiplayer, there is a single-player campaign. Although the campaign in Splatoon 2 isn't as great as the first, it still offers a fun experience that isn't too difficult. If you're looking for a challenge, the Octo Expansion DLC is available for purchase, offering a much harder campaign, new story, items, and more.

    The perfect game! I was so addicted to this game and played it for almost 2 years and definitely the most hours spent (200+). Although after the Splatfest ended, I kind of moved on. But it’s still the best and most original shooter game i have ever played.

    Love: gameplay, weapons, power ups, snipers have limited range (!!!), swimming, Super jumping, booyah-ing! Splatfests, clam blitz    The perfect game! I was so addicted to this game and played it for almost 2 years and definitely the most hours spent (200+). Although after the Splatfest ended, I kind of moved on. The problems I had with the original game were the verity and balance of the guns, the bland characters, and lack of special abilities. Splatoon 2 fixes all of them. They added sloshers and umbrellas and balenced the rest of the guns. Marina is my favorite character in video game history and pearl is good too. The added more abilities than just ink armor and multiple bombs. To go along with it salmon run is great even though you can’t always play it. Splatoon is by far my favorite switch game and one of my all time favorites.… Expand

    A game truly worthy of being a sequel to one of the best Wii U games of all time. It improves on so much, adding more weapons, stages hairstyles and so much more. In my opinion, the campaign in the first game was better, but this one is amazing as well.

    The only two complaints I have that aren't because of the fan base are that there are some overpowered weapons and there's no way to get more Super Sea Shells once you reach 99*. I don't believe that those two things are enough to bring this game down any lower than a 10.     Splatoon第一代在Wii U上推出的时候，就喜欢上了这游戏的美术风格和音乐，但可惜当时并没有Wii U，所以苦等这么多年后，终于在Switch上得以圆梦。任天堂出品的FPS游戏自然是有着强烈的“老任味”，最传统的涂地模式，对FPS新手及其友好，即使是像我一样的“描边大师”也可以快乐的喷喷喷，每场比赛并不需要你疯狂的击杀对手，只是认真地涂地，就是在为自己队伍做贡献。任天堂再一次通过机制的创新，拓展了这一传统游戏类型的边界。当然，前面所说的“友好”也仅仅针对游戏前十几小时，10级之后开始“真格”比赛，面对各路高手，痛苦的晋级之路由此开始了，这也完美符合任天堂游戏上手容易精通难的特点。游戏所有武器都是现实世界各种物品的变形与组合，每把武器手感配合手柄的HD震动功能，精准地传递给玩家，我个人喜欢使用狙击枪，4K和中狙在蓄力以及击杀时，手柄给人的反馈是完全不一样的，其他武器也都有类似的差别，所以，在卡通的风格下，任天堂的开发人员是做了相当多的细节雕琢的，这也让休闲和硬核玩家，都能找到自己最适应的游玩方式。
    如果在对战中被打到血压飙升，还可以去打工（Salmon Run），和其他3名队友配合，给熊老板收集金鱼籽。打工根据潮水位置，昼夜情况也有着不同玩法，随着玩家段位提升，打工难度自然也会提高。
    要说缺点，可能FPS老手会对这个游戏嗤之以鼻吧，但对于我这种休闲玩家，最大的缺点就是自己菜（笃定）。任天堂服务器是不是“抽风”的确是最影响游戏体验的部分了，也是最为玩家诟病的部分，这一点，只能过年多给老任服务器烧高香了（笑）。    … Expand

Splatoon 2 has all of this and more. The result was Splatoon, which is bound to go down in history as one of the company's main victories in the underappreciated Wii U console. A couple years later, we get a sequel on Switch that manages to one-up the original by pretty much every metric (one which, thankfully, isn't called Spla2n, no matter what kids these days think they want).

    Splatoon 2's real meat is in its online play. In a nutshell, players gather in teams of four to duke it out by shooting ink at each other, with the objective of covering most of the stage's ground in their gooey substance (well, mostly; there are additional modes geared at the more competitive players). Aside from shooting, characters are able to transform into squids and swim through ink of their color, aiding with quick movement and refilling the ink tank in one fell swoop. This is, for me, one of two genius ideas at the heart of the franchise, as it helps tie the whole gameplay together while offering opportunity for players to move up walls and through grates.

    The weapon selection is vast, and it's gradually unlocked as you gain levels. It includes traditional weapons like quick revolvers and gatling guns, but also stuff like rollers, brushes, and umbrellas, offering a wide array of playing styles. The fact that the main objective is covering the ground in ink is the second genius idea, as it means even players who aren't good at (or dislike) the precision of aiming at opponents can help by devising smart ways to cover large swaths of ground.

    New to Splatoon 2 is a horde mode, called Salmon Run. It can be an absolutely exhillarating experience, as you team up with three others to kill invaders and collect salmon eggs for a hungry bear. The one caveat is that you don't get to choose which weapons you wield, relying instead on a randomized selection. This can be pretty annoying, as sometimes you'll just dislike how a specific weapon plays (hey there, splat charger!).

    Like the first game, there is sadly no option for split-screen play, but this is where the Switch's portability is a godsend. I never went to the trouble of taking my entire Wii U (with a television to boot!) with me to play online modes together with a local friend, but I have already in many occasions taken my Switch with me for that purpose.

    The single-player mode was also extended and improved, thanks to the addition of weapon selection instead of the small gun-only approach of the original. Stages are insanely well-designed linear platforming-and-shooting romps, with the exception of one open-ended but self-contained stage in each of the game's five worlds.

    The one glaring omission from the first game is a minigame to distract yourself while waiting for enough players to join a match. The one available in the original Splatoon was just the kind of arcade fun I need to make the waiting, which is one of my biggest qualms with online multiplayer, more tolerable.

    TL;DR:
    Splatoon is the most important new Nintendo IP in many years, and this sequel improves over almost every aspect of the excellent original. Shooting your ink around is as fun as before, and the new horde mode makes things even more varied for online players. Offline has also got a big improvement, as the level design remains incredible while weapon selection was significantly increased. As such, Splatoon 2 is a more than worthy sequel, and one that thoroughly deserves to continue the series' success.

It offers an original gameplay that is actually fun to play. Though Splatoon 2 is not perfect, I am madly in love with it.

    + So much splash and bright colors. It makes you feel like a child again.
    + Tons of weapons, items, and customizations.

    Negative points
    - Near useless communication app from Nintendo.
    - Coop mode, though it is fun, it requires each player to have his or her own Switch device. I don't see why Nintendo did not make an online mode or split-screen co-op.

    I suggest this game to every Switch owners. And if you have been hesitant to buy a Switch due to a lack of games, then this is a perfect time to own the console. The library is growing *slowly, but surely* with a great selection of original games.    … Expand

    I wanted to gfive a 10 to this game so bad, but nintendo's bad decisions always keep me from it. why can't I play wih my friends always on my team? Why can't I play salmon run whenever I want? Why chat system is always so bad in nintendo consoles that makes it unusable by most players? why, nintendo, why??

    The first "Splatoon" game was one of my personal favorite Wii U titles. I really loved how fresh (ha ha ha) and different the game was, and I thought Nintendo's admittedly risky approach was extremely successful. So, when I heard Nintendo was making a sequel, I was...kind of confused. Sure, I really loved the first game, and I knew I would play this game, but I was shocked that NintendoThe first "Splatoon" game was one of my personal favorite Wii U titles. I really loved how fresh (ha ha ha) and different the game was, and I thought Nintendo's admittedly risky approach was extremely successful. So, when I heard Nintendo was making a sequel, I was...kind of confused. Sure, I really loved the first game, and I knew I would play this game, but I was shocked that Nintendo was making a sequel so soon (it's only been 2 years since the first one). On top of that, Nintendo is very rarely the one to settle for a sequel that's so similar to the first one, and that's what "Splatoon 2" was looking like. Even so, having played the game, I can say that Nintendo has succeeded once again.
    As expected, "Splatoon 2" looks and plays great. Visually, it's absolutely gorgeous, and the game runs smoothly, as it should on a new and more powerful system. The game also remains just as fun as ever, the campaign's levels are still varied and exciting, the multiplayer is still fun and frantic, and the new modes and small changes are nice enough that the game does stand well next to the first one.
    That said, my one small, minor criticism, and the reason I can't really comfortably give the game a perfect 10 is that, as I said before, the game is VERY similar to the first, so much so that this could've easily been a "Splatoon Deluxe" instead of a full-blown sequel. Oh, and while I'm glad Nintendo added voice chat this time around...why is it so cumbersome?
    All that said, "Splatoon 2" is still a great game and a worthy buy if you're a Switch owner. I'm sure I'll still get plenty of longevity out of this game thanks to the Switch's portability.

    I think the singleplayer here improved since the first game with some awesome level designs and music.. It's more of a place to try out different weapons but it definitely succeeds on that and the bosses are more unique/fun this time around :D

    The multiplayer feels great to play again, with the new maps and modes to play, most of your time will be spent on playing here and this part of the game definitely delivers. Just like the first game; It's awesome and new weapons/abilities are soo fun to use! My favs are the dual pistols and Aerospray MG xD

    Lastly we have the salmon run which is definitely my favorite mode!! There's quite a bit of teamwork needed for this one and I feel like this one really nails that aspect; telling your teammates where the boss is and also "booyah" for finishing a hard round! This mode is no joke, it's really hard and sometimes it depends on luck!! I wish they add like 2 more rounds though but maybe thats too hard xD

    The hub city like the last game is a good miiverse like place to hang out and check out other player's artwork/gear! You get to order your gear from the app or from other players so make sure to do that daily if you want to look cool or cute and have better gear!!!!

    Also Marina and Pearl are great hosts! Looking forward to more Splatfests!!

    To sum it up, this is definitely a good Nintendo Sequel! This game is a lot of fun and packed with a lot of good content from the get go where the first one didn't really have much to start with!
    I'm positive this game is going to get more new content along the way and this will even surpass my current 9 rating as of now!

    It's so intuitive because the bright colours instantly give away which team controls which part of the map : this allows for fast-paced tactical gameplay and a consistent flow.
    The classes are intelligently designed and feel right at their place and role.
    The game is very polished and it obviously feels like it.

What can I say!This takes everything from the first game and adds a new fresh coat of paint.The turf wars have that fun which was in the original and the Ranked Battles were a blast to play!I love how even the slightest details,like glitter paint in the Story Mode,make it feel unique.By the way,the Story Mode adds a lot more freedom and challenge compared to the one on the Wii U.I love how you can switch weapons and it makes that feel really cool.Also,Callie is captured and Marie is the protagonist,and you can use the Rainmaker in the final boss!

    Overall,this game needs only a few tweaks,like the Switch online app and Turf War with COMs,so because of that it gets a 9/10!I love this game and will be better with a good future for the Switch!    … Expand

    Amazing improvement over the first splatoon on all aspects. Really addicting gameplay, sound and art. The cartoonish graphics hides an impressive competitive multiplayer game. Also the single player campaign is simply awesome. Must buy for anyone with a switch.

    Kolorowa, przyjemna strzelanka, z możliwościa customizacji swojej postaci. Cieszy fakt dużej ilości trybów gry, zarówno multi, co-op jak i single player. Gra żyje i jest dobrze wspierana przez Nintendo. Pokazują to chociażby eventy organizowane co jakiś czas w grze. Polecam!

    The Grafic looks amazing and the gameplay is still innovative.

    Only the missing, seperate Sensivity-Controll for the Y-Axis by deacivating move controll is a little bad.
    But still a very very nice game, i love it ^^

Rounds in this game is really short and intense, and you can always turn the game around so it's always fun even if you lose.     Very similar to the first Splatoon , but Nintendo added enough things in the game to make it fresh. My one problem is the voice chat. Except for that it is an excellent game and a must buy for the Nintendo Switch

    There are some things that could be improved, but they are more of an inconvenience rather than a real issue. The game itself is great - addicting gameplay, fast and short matches, different weapons, modes and items add the depth and make Splatton 2 one of my favourite games ever. I believe that if someone who wasn't splatoon player likes it this much, then it's must have for splatoon veterans.

    While to some it might feel too similar to its predecessor, I feel that the approach Nintendo took with it is just what it needed. If you loved the original, this game will be right up your alley. Nearly everything is either just as good or better than it was on the Wii U, and the new Salmon Run mode and promises of content updates and events being planned for up to two years is very exciting.

For me, the stage diversity is arguably more important in a game like Splatoon where the fundamentals are to ink as much turf as possible, and on different stages, there are different strategies that must be plotted with each weapon. I also believe an online multiplayer game doesn't deserve higher than an 8 it if can't fundamentally understand online functionality.

    This game would be a 10 if it had better chat support. Graphics are great. Framerate is solid at 60fps. Lots of customizations. Tons of weapons. Funs maps, although not a fan that you can only access some at certain times. With everything considered it's one of the most fun multiplayers out, also very competitive and I was in the top 10 in the country for bucket in overwatch.     but the rest of the game is fluid and perfectly calculated

    Splatoon 2 is fun, unique, addictive, and I absolutely recommend it to all switch owners but it makes a lot of weird/annoying design decisions in its multiplayer, that I just find baffling.

    Splatoon 2 is one example of a good shooters out there.The shooter genre doesn't mean realistic and bloody game.Nintendo has walked to the right way,it's colorful,addictive and full of fun.I will take one point out despite the lack of proper voice chat and the online service that Nintendo needs to fix.
    Ilove the single player it adds splatoon 2 more playtime.

    Amazing. It's colorful, fun, there's plenty to do, and perfect if you don't have much time to play video games. You can sit down, play a few games, and get back up. The mobility of the switch supports this a lot. The story is better than the first one, nicer graphics, and great for all ages. Definitely recommend you pick this up.

    This game would have easily been a 10/10 for me but considering the awful Lobby online system Nintendo has put in place its almost impossible to casually play with your friends in online multiplayer mode. The only way to Play with your friends(Online VS other Players) would be League mode which requires certain levels and ranks and is not achievable quickly.

    Salmon Run is perfect(Including the way you play with your friends). I like the fact it isn't always open all the time.

    Personally i cant master the Motion controls but i like the fact it is an option. My preferred play style is with a Pro Controller.

    I own the game from the same week it was released, and it is one of the best online shooters I played. The game is really fun and gets updates every month but there are still some cons:
    You can't skip Marina & Pearl when you start the game
    A lot of communication errors (pretty common)
    Salmon run is closed most of the time
    2 maps which change every 2 hours

    Splatoon 2 for me is amazing. I have played about 120 hours, and its exciting and amazing. Single player is okay, but the main part is online. I really like it except the mediocre voice chat, but besides that amazing game

This game did a good job of polishing the promblems that the first Splatoon had and the creators of Spaltoon is still releasing new content for the game.     near-perfect game. multiplayer is good (a bit laggy at times) content (the constant flow of) is amazing, and its the most unique online shooter I've ever played. and if the game was a bit less laggy (which it will be with the launch of the Nintendo online services) it would of gotten a 10/10. still, brilliant game.

    Splatoon 2 being the second game of the series included many new ideas, but it was ultimately a polished version of the original. The new weapons are great, but some sound good on paper but when they are executed, just really aren't that great. This is a great game, and I love it, but in my opinion it falls short of a 10 due to the lack of difference from the original and the sequel.

The single player is a clever Mario galaxy inspired tutorial that prepares the player for the epic and awesome online. That may sound like a bad thing, but the levels and bosses are all extremely fun and well designed, and will supply you with hours of enjoyment. Those willing to stick around and complete every level with a certain weapon will be rewarded with a unique hero weapon to take into the world online and show off. Speaking of online, this is a masterpiece when it comes to online play. The basic turf war never fails to entertain, and is always fun to play and also allows for quick pick up and go play. More experienced players can then play ranked modes, which consist of amazingly tactical gameplay, from escorting a weapon to the enemies base, riding a moving tower, controlling a certain area with your ink and playing american football with clams. Not your thing, try the addictive Salmon run, the horde mode of Splatoon. Take on the zombie like beings in epic survival maps and earn unique rewards. The only downgrade is the lack of two player due to the Wii U pad being absent. Putting this aside, this is a brilliant game and is one of the best games of 2017. This is a must own for any Switch player, and is a perfectly good reason to buy a Switch. 9/10… Expand

    The game features a vers good and diverse multi-player with tons of weapons and a wide variaty of gear to customize.
    The different modes give you enough replay value and make for a wonderful experience.
    The control takes some getting used to but with a pro controller works really well.
    I would definitely recommend this to every switch owner !!

    Though never fun in real life, spilling ink all around is even more fun in Splatoon 2 than it was in the first game. Teaming up with your squid friends has never been better. But even though some weird Nintendo elements can drag the fun to a stall, everywhere that Splatoon 2 shines makes it a deserving heir to the original.
