It’s not the quantity of a game that counts, it’s the quality, and Speed Dating for Ghosts has more than enough of the latter to make up for the relative lack of the former. It’s a relatively unique game, so if you’re in the market for something different, be sure to check it out.

It's a nice game, but it isn't long. Quite a nice game for its price, especially if you like visual novels

Fair warning: Speed Dating for Ghosts is not a "game" in the traditional sense. It falls squarely in the category of conversation-basedFair warning: Speed Dating for Ghosts is not a "game" in the traditional sense. It falls squarely in the category of conversation-based interactive fiction–like visual novels, only without much of a story. You're a ghost, and you date other ghosts. You talk a lot, almost always about them. You get to know them. You change your mind about someone, decide whether to go out with someone else… that kind of stuff.

If the genre tickles your fancy, then SDwG is very much worth playing. It might be set among ghosts, but it's definitely a game about people–how complex, interesting and quirky they can be. I had fun getting to know these freaks, and it's almost impossible to go through this game without thinking, at least a bit, about the lives of people you know and love.

Speed Dating with Ghosts is a short experience, and it never transcends into any grandiose meaning-of-life deeper layer. However, it gets pretty close. Along the road, it manages to touch your hearth a few times, and to make you giggle a few more. If you ask me, that's enough for the price of entry.
