    Fair warning: Speed Dating for Ghosts is not a "game" in the traditional sense. It falls squarely in the category of conversation-based interactive fiction–like visual novels, only without much of a story. You're a ghost, and you date other ghosts. You talk a lot, almost always about them. You get to know them. You change your mind about someone, decide whether to go out with someone else…Fair warning: Speed Dating for Ghosts is not a "game" in the traditional sense. It falls squarely in the category of conversation-based interactive fiction–like visual novels, only without much of a story. You're a ghost, and you date other ghosts. You talk a lot, almost always about them. You get to know them. You change your mind about someone, decide whether to go out with someone else… that kind of stuff.

    If the genre tickles your fancy, then SDwG is very much worth playing. It might be set among ghosts, but it's definitely a game about people–how complex, interesting and quirky they can be. I had fun getting to know these freaks, and it's almost impossible to go through this game without thinking, at least a bit, about the lives of people you know and love.

    Speed Dating with Ghosts is a short experience, and it never transcends into any grandiose meaning-of-life deeper layer. However, it gets pretty close. Along the road, it manages to touch your hearth a few times, and to make you giggle a few more. If you ask me, that's enough for the price of entry.    … Expand

    It's a nice game, but it isn't long. Quite a nice game for its price, especially if you like visual novels

    It’s not the quantity of a game that counts, it’s the quality, and Speed Dating for Ghosts has more than enough of the latter to make up for the relative lack of the former. It’s a relatively unique game, so if you’re in the market for something different, be sure to check it out.

    Overall if you aren’t looking for a visual novel about weird spirits finding love or friendship, this probably isn’t going to be for you. There are a few issues with it, such as the UI tinting the option you’re selecting instead of tinting the options you’re not selecting like most games do. This specifically had me confused and at least a few times I accidentally picked an option I didn’t want because of it. There is basically no gameplay variation to be found in Speed Dating for Ghosts, it’s a visual novel through and through, but if that’s your thing each “run” only lasts about ten to fifteen minutes making this game perfect for an afternoon of soul searching and spook searching.
