  • Summary: Space Tail is a 2.5D adventure platformer, which immerses the player in a deep, emotional plot, and lets him explore new planets and interact with alien civilizations.

The plot of the game is inspired by real events, when people began their conquest of space by sending animals to the stars.
Space Tail is a 2.5D adventure platformer, which immerses the player in a deep, emotional plot, and lets him explore new planets and interact with alien civilizations.

The plot of the game is inspired by real events, when people began their conquest of space by sending animals to the stars. We intended it to be a kind of a tribute to all the animals that paved the way for humans to go into space. Most of these animals - the first astronauts, did not survive the journey. Our story tells of the adventures of a dog named Bea, who... managed to beat the odds.

Bea travels through space discovering more planets. Each planet is different and has its specific inhabitants, who can either become friends of the main character or be very unfriendly towards her. We are convinced that exploring this amazing world together with Bea will give the player a lot of satisfaction and pleasure.

A delightful take to the stories of all the dogs that are in the history of the conquest of Space.

Space Tail tells an emotional story, offers up some fairly enjoyable puzzles to solve, and makes good use of its unusual canine protagonist. The occasional frustrating puzzle or out-of-nowhere death hampers things a little, and the interesting communication mechanics unfortunately tend to come down to simple trial and error. There’s certainly something a person could really connect with here, but you’re going to have to put up with some irritations along the way.

Space Tail comes across as an forgettably mediocre game. While its art direction and strong story start seem to lead to a potential great adventure, the game mechanics you use are fundamentally broken or just boring. This makes the entire experience feel dragged out and not fun. It’s a game that I played for this review and ultimately will never go back to. While it is by no means a bad game, Space Tail is a game I can’t recommend for people. There are plenty of better games on Nintendo Switch for you to check out.
