May 5, 2018Maybe I was expecting too much but it really feels like the game is too short, and that they just stop the level design in the middle where there could have been so much more tricky puzzles. Almost the feeling of a tutorial, which say the less is disappointing. A good starting idea though.

Oct 11, 2017Semispheres is a really cool puzzle game that can be played solo, though I imagine it would be even more fun to play with a partner. The blue and gold jellyfish are controlled using both halves of the Switch’s Joycons, making it extraordinarily easy for two people to work together--a noticeable difference, I assume, from the PC and PlayStation versions of the game. Easy to pick up but challenging enough to make you feel a sense of achievement, Semispheres is a great and relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

It features an overall relaxing atmosphere and allows the players to enjoy themselves for a while before fading out...but it doesn't stand up to a major challenge and falls behind when it's about pushing further, which may feel as a shortcoming for some.

Sep 21, 2017Semispheres is a pretty standard puzzle game, it has some nice concepts but fails to really elaborate on them enough to build a more compelling experience. The game is a good way to spend an evening if you prefer to relax and stroll through some straightforward puzzles, so for those with a cerebral itch, Semispheres is a decent if forgettable experience.
