Apr 27, 2018Saturday Morning RPG is an extremely fun and heart-filled adventure, giving a great homage to the 80’s.
-
May 21, 2018Saturday Morning RPG is a great tribute to pop culture from a long time ago with a ton of references that made me smile. This is my favourite version of the game now and you owe it to yourself to check it out if you’re a fan of RPGs and pop culture from the late 80s and early 90s.

May 1, 2018Saturday Morning RPG has a lot to like. The presentation is top notch, the gameplay is excellent, and the vast amount of ‘80s references sprinkled throughout the episodes are fun, promoting a positive vibe. I wish the world had a bit more depth, and the difficulty spikes get annoying fast. But with Saturday Morning RPG, the positives end up outweighing the negatives.

May 17, 2018Saturday Morning RPG is a wacky take on the genre with a setting that's never been seen before and a battle system that dares to be different. It's a little short which can be somewhat disappointing, but it's also a suitably entertaining adventure.

May 5, 2018As a loving tribute to JRPGs and '80s pop culture, Saturday Morning RPG has rough edges a-plenty and even more bright ideas. It can frustrate and baffle, particularly if you're not au fait with the period, but it's always keen to invite you into its world.
-
May 12, 2018It’s just a shame that gameplay quickly gets repetitive; with a bit more variety, Saturday Morning RPG could have been a stand-out title.
-
May 9, 2018Those with a fondness for Saturday morning cartoons from their childhood might find enough nostalgic enjoyment here to spend a few hours on this trip down memory lane. There’s fun to be had and the witty story will see you through to the end, but some tedious and repetitive combat mechanics keep it from greatness.
-
Apr 27, 2018Saturday Morning RPG is enjoyable. It's a clean, cheap, pleasant RPG for people who either grew up in the 80s, or have developed an appreciation for what passed as entertainment back then. Either way, the heavy reliance on nostalgia does wear thin and lose its comedic appeal, and from there you're only left with a workable, but very limited, turn based combat system, and not much more.

Jun 14, 2018There's a lot to love here, given the obvious indication of how much love and passion was put into the development of the game, but I can't help but feel it just isn't all that enjoyable beyond the nostalgic novelties. While it's cool to see references to your favorite kung-fu movies from back in the day, and while the plot is just as cheesy as the time period it's attempting to recreate, the core design of the game feels small in scale and ultimately boring after an hour or so of playing.
-
May 15, 2018Although Saturday Morning RPG certainly captures the feelings of playing a Saturday morning cartoon, that quality may very well be its downfall. The episodic format, coupled with the fairly involved battle system, make for a breath of fresh air in the early game, but they quickly become repetitive and rather dull, much like a typical '80s cartoon.

Nov 16, 2021It's a great little game packed with nostalgia and humor. I loved it. Only issue is that its only around 10 to 15 hours of gameplay.
