Nov 19, 2019The remaster of a cult classic in the same vein as Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. The amount of freedom and inventiveness is off the charts. Hard recommend

Nov 19, 2019I never managed to get into Romancing SaGa 2 but this one really did it for me. You can pick a character, do everything you want at your pace and then finish the game. Frustrating here and there but the freedom is fantastic and the world-building is really good. The remaster did a really good job.

Dec 10, 2019Your mileage may vary depending on your interest in non-linear RPGs, but this is one of the greatest SNES games ever made. It's effectively a more complete and polished SaGa Frontier. You can play the game through many times over and never have exactly the same experience. The level of depth is absurd for any game from the era, and it holds up well today, given that you have the patience for it.

Jan 14, 2023worth it and glad to play this game again. so much memories and nostalgia within this spin off game in the series.

Mar 27, 2020The new UI is ugly as sin, and the animation added to the boss sprites is laughably out of place. The new background art is a mixed bag of some decent work and a couple examples of soulless imitation that fails to capture the intent of the original. All of this applies for those who are familiar with the original Romancing SaGa 3. For everyone else, this is an excellent RPG that has a lot of content and replayability. A vast cast of weirdos and miscreants to recruit, and shenanigans to get into await in this saga.

Dec 8, 2019Romancing SaGa 3 is an interesting work of the last century. The gameplay offers freedom like no other game from the 90s. The visual and sound style of the remastered gives the title a second life. However, the history is a disappointment that offers interesting concepts, but at the end of the day, it does not achieve something memorable.

Nov 27, 2019Removing the nostalgia filter, a lot of the gameplay elements of Romancing SaGa 3 simply won’t be that enjoyable for people who are die hard RPG fans of that era. Keeping that caveat in mind, fans of that era of gaming can find a lot to enjoy in this title, provided they are willing to deal with the lack of direction and unconventional approach to the JRPG formula.
