Mar 21, 2019RIOT – Civil Unrest is an interesting concept poorly executed, resulting in a tedious game that fails to achieve its own lofty aspirations. The distinction between police and protester is valid, but is executed in a way that leaves you wanting greater insight.

Feb 22, 2019RIOT - Civil Unrest features a rather original premise that pits the player in civil strife scenes based off real world events and it does a decent job at that, especially as it allows the player to play both as the rioters and as the forces of order. Unfortunately the game suffers from too many unnecessary problems, including (crucially) issues with its control system and the lack of a tutorial doesn't help. The promise of future updates, on the other hand, is a plus.

CD-ActionDec 11, 2019It’s an unplayable imp of a game which had so many changes and iterations during the course of its production that there was actually nothing left to save. The switch version is an early access copypaste and the first game that crashed on my Switch. [03/2019, p.48]
