A solid shooter, with a nice R-Type kinda feel to it, you have a decent selection of weapons and power ups, and you're force orb can rotate around you're ship in various positions to keep the aliens on their toes.

Rigid Force Redux ist ein Liebesbrief an R-Type, schlussendlich einer der schönsten.

'Generic' is the best way to describe this game. Also, 'short'. Anyone who likes this genre has seen dozens of games just like this already. The ability to alter your shot direction with L and R is a nice touch, but there really isn't anything else very interesting about this game at all. The level design and boss fights are very simple and uninspiring. There are also only 6 short levels'Generic' is the best way to describe this game. Also, 'short'. The game is smooth and fun to play, but overall this really is very poor value for money - don't expect to play this for more than a couple of hours. And definitely don't pay full price for this game! Expand

Rigid Force Redux is a charming addition to the side-scrolling shooter genre. The journey may be over too soon, but it’s very scenic and worth it for those weapons. Strap yourself in — you’ll have a blast!

So it’s kind of a shame that once I finally taught myself how to play the game and I knocked down that particular wall, what was on the other side wasn’t particularly special or unique. The ‘retro side scrolling shooter’ is a crowded market even in 2020, and especially on Switch and as such, I’m not sure it offers quite enough value for a full RRP purchase. It’s certainly pretty and I had about as much as you can have with a videogame you begin not very good at and when you get good it’s over half an hour later.

Rigid Force Redux is a charming little side-scrolling shoot-em-up that separates itself from the pack with a wide array of abilities and attacks. The smooth performance and abundance of achievements are a wonderful package that you should definitely play if you love the genre.
