RemiLore: Lost Girl in the Land of Lore is a huge disappointment for me. When you can grab something excellent like Enter the Gungeon for a fraction of the price, it almost comes off as embarrassing. It's not utterly vile like a pickle sandwich, just incomprehensibly dull considering its vibrant, cute, colorful presentation.

The quest in RemiLore: Lost Girl in the Lands of Lore is inconsequential, and the only reason why anyone would play this is to have a cute hack'n slash with the utter bare minimum of rogue elements. Bringing a friend along will help keep things interesting, but there is just not enough substance to keep most hooked. It is too easy, and one has to play very carelessly in order to feel the rush of walking that razor's edge that comes with the better rogue-likes.

Pretty much the most infuriating game of this genre I've seen and played.

This game has terrible upgrades. Only a few are actually desirable, so it pays off to NOT unlock things because you can't choose to use them, it just means they randomly pop up. So don't unlock the stupid powers.

Oh and fun fact you can't just straight up upgrade your health and stamina. The only way is an item that randomly upgrades or DOWNGRADES your hp. Yes that is right. You start at 100hp. But i went up to 120 from the upgrade item, and then I got several in a row that removed so much HP that I ended up with 90HP. YUP. So don't pick up those items because it might make the game harder.

Combat comes down to three things, dash, heavy hit and light hit. Sadly there are only like 3 combos too. So that means you get bored quick. What is that? You think different weapon types give you different and more interesting combos and tactics? NOPE. That would make sense.

Also dashing does nothing for you. Dead Cells is a fun game right? Know how dashes give you invincibility frames? Not in this game. You can end up face dashing into a flurry of bullets.

Story wise this game is decent. Nothing special. You are Remi, a random lazy school girl who gets transported by lore(a sentient encyclopedia of recipes) to a magical world of demon robots that have killed everyone made by the game's tsundere antagonist who dislikes Lore.

Don't waste your money. This wouldn't be a game I'd waste my quarters on if it were an arcade cabinet, and it is the worst part because it is just an arcade style game.

    Run from this game. RUN!

The game is outstanding and can be described as kinda like Diablo 3 with a sweet tooth lol. It’s a top down/isometric hack n slash and the controls are SUPER tight! Like AAA caliber controls no joke. The ONLY thing I can think of that MAY lower the score is the annoying voice acting as there’s no way to change it from Japanese to English. I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who loves action RPGs and especially fans of hack n Slash games!!

Pros: nice art style and decent enough story, good rogue like/rpg game, unique weapons and power ups, different outfits, NG+ is actually worthPros: nice art style and decent enough story, good rogue like/rpg game, unique weapons and power ups, different outfits, NG+ is actually worth it as it’s not just the same story (it is similar but the reason for refighting in the worlds is different and with a different character), and different modes

Cons: I always seemed to run low on health and could never find a HP orb, death means restarting the entire world, initial play through is quick (NG+ fixes this though)

Overall I enjoyed this game and I would recommend it to anyone. However, I would not recommend purchasing it at full price. It’s not worth it’s price unless it’s used. There’s just not a lot to the story mode and it can easily be beaten in a day. If you play normal story and NG+ you could still either beat it in a long day or a weekend. NG+ is worth it though because it’s the same worlds and mechs but from the other character’s point of view and has a different purpose as to why you are fighting with them. Also because of recent shady practices by publisher Nicalis, I would say it’s better to buy it used so they don’t get the money. Either that, or try to find some way to buy it that supports the creator but not Nicalis. I can’t say that I can ever recommend a Nicalis game anymore, because of a recent story that came out. However, if you still like a game they publish, just buy it used or through some other mean.

P.S. I have no problem with the people that work at Nicalis, but their owner is rude and doesn’t hold his end up to contracts. He also treats his people like they are POS.
