    - The graphics are on par with XY/ORAS games, not even SM when it could easily be Pokken since the switch is able to handle it
    - Paid online, which said paid online removes features like wonder trade and GTS
    - $50 toy and trading are the only way to get Mew legitimately when HGSS gave players a very similar toy with the game and didn’t make it impossible to 100% the game without someone

    - $50 toy and trading are the only way to get Mew legitimately when HGSS gave players a very similar toy with the game and didn’t make it impossible to 100% the game without someone paying extra
    - Similarly, the only way to get Gengar, Alakazam, Golem/Golem-A, and Machamp are though trading (the likes of which is harder do to previous factors and that the fact that 2 switches are required) or by playing Pokemon GO on a smart phone where you catch hundreds of Pokemon in that line or walk/drive thousands of kilometers while its on or getting lucky with encounters
    - Several animations are literally copy&pasted from SM
    - Blastoise, a flagship pokemon, still shoots hydro pump from its forehead
    - Many Pokemon just move on the axis during attack animations
    - Aerodactyl in the museum is literally just an aerodactyl model and no modifications to make it appear as a skeleton
    - Gym Requirements break traditional nuzlocke rules just so that GameFreak had a lazy way to make the game easier
    - The one of the downsides of having a Mega on a Pokemon, being the item they hold preventing you from hold other items, is now gone, and there is no downside to using most megas like Alakazam, Slowbro, Gengar, Charizard-Y, Blastoise, ect.
    - Because of how AVs work, the EVs of these games, everything is bulkier than what they were in Gen 2, likely being less balanced than Gen 2 and 3
    - Co-op makes battles 2v1s in your favor and offers nothing else in gameplay when the possibilities are infinite
    - The Champion has a Jolteon with 3 moves, 2 of which are Quick Attack and Pin Missile
    - In fact, the Champion only has 3 moves for each Pokemon
    - So do many Master Trainers
    - Some master trainers will have a flying type with a ground type move
    - Since there is a Master Trainer for every Pokemon, you will need a living dex or fight the NFE Pokemon first even though they are post game
    - Chikorita to Zeraora are all missing entirely. No transfer from the real mainline games or even GO
    - With the former, many Gen 2 and Gen 4 cross evolutions are gone
    - No Day and Night cycle what so ever
    - You can run from trainers
    - Wild Battles are now just GO like catching
    - EXP Share can’t be turned off at all
    - With how hard they deliberately made making competitive teams, the Nintendo Switch is now more likely to be hacked as no one is realisticly going to build a legitimate team
    - With how hard the games are and how many Gen 1 references there are, the games are somehow meant for little japanese kids
    - Despite what paid shills have said, Musada says he hope the future of Pokemon is more like LGPE
    - It took them 5 years to let you ride Kangaskahn, and your starter is the one in its pouch
    - Machamp doesn’t princess carry you even though it did in SM

Too simplistic to appeal to veterans of the series and too needlessly patronizing and handholdy to serve as a meaningful introduction to the series for new players rather than a frustrating and superficial one, Let's Go can only be described as an unsolicited stripped down version of what already is one of the most newcomer-friendly series on the market and a walking contradiction failing to entice anybody by trying to excessively cater to only one side of the new/veteran spectrum. Abilities, Items, Wild Encounters, Traditional Catching, Breeding, and most notably any Pokemon not part of the original 151 are not present in the game and alternatives to act as a substitute are mostly not provided or do not feel substantial enough to warrant the change in the first place. Additions that weren't present in Yellow are very scarce compared to other remakes and even then they are mostly friviolities that while cutesy and cheerful they don't suffice to quell the irritation caused by the game's barren and unchanged Kanto trying to ride on the coattails of nostalgia out of rapacious greed instead of attempting to improve the experience. It's very clear that the game was made exclusively for children, with the removal of most of the franchise's core features that have been present since the very first games, which Let's Go is ironically a remake of. The game lacks battling wild Pokémon, giving your Pokémon held items, abilities for each Pokémon species, breeding and hatching Pokémon eggs, and most disappointingly, Pokémon from other games than Pokémon Yellow. Even Eevee, one of the main Pokémon in this iteration, has lost five of its eight total evolution, and Pikachu has lost its pre-evolution Pichu. Not to mention that Mew is only obtainable by paying $50, which is simply outrageous.

The games also lack general polish, with many animations being reused from previous games or simply not being there at all. Most Pokémon do not have animations for most of their attacks or movements, and simply freeze when prompted to execute such commands. Seeing Pokémon "jump" by simply scaling up and down the y-axis, move in a straight line while standing still, the protagonist flying over stairs, NPCs only being able to walk in straight lines and having to stop in order to turn, and the general lack of animations where one would consider them necessary ruins a lot of the immersion that the games could otherwise have had. Models clips through each other and shadows are simple textures instead of being, well, shadows. The list goes on.

Content-wise the game also falls flat. With the removal of battling wild Pokémon and almost every feature introduced since Pokémon Gold and Silver being absent, this means that the only things the player have to spend their time on is battling trainers, of which there are a small and finite number of. Not to mention that compared to the original Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow, these trainers have also been made easier to defeat, and that includes the fabled Pokémon League itself. The game also allows the player to boost their Pokémon stats in a variety of ways, so much in fact that your starter can reach the same power levels that Legendary Pokémon have. And some of these boosts are not even optional, but automatic. After beating the Pokémon League and catching the 4 Legendary Pokémon, the game basically ends. There is nothing more to do other than just fighting the remaining trainers.

Some of the game's new additions also simply feel insulting to the player, such as moves being named Baddy Bad and Splishy Splash, which sound like actual babytalk that even children would eventually get annoyed by.

Overall, the game is not for long-time Pokémon fans as it removes just about everything that the franchise is so beloved for, it is not for gamers in general due to the lack of polish, difficulty and the incredible hand-holding, and it is not for curious newcomers to the franchise due to the lack of content and interesting features. It is exclusively for kids who have played Pokémon Go on their mobile phones.

Those who whine about the easier difficulty should go figure that this entry was made with newcomers in mind. It's a Pokemon game for the really little ones and their brothers, sisters, parents. It's a Pokemon game for the really little ones and their brothers, sisters, parents. But one that has some surprising difficulty to it later on in the story. I hate it when people decide to destroy scores based on their entitled notions of what they believe this game should be to them. So I wrote this to say that if you're a parent with a small child that likes Pokemon Go, it's a blast to play this together. It's Kanto of old with some fun new twists thrown in, and having Eevee or Pikachu with you feels amazing. It's like playing the anime. Don't listen to the manbabies that think every game should catter to their crystalized taste of what a Pokemon game is. I've had loads of fun with Sun and Moon, but also with this simpler entry, and I don't even have kids. But I can still appreciate it for what it tries to do. And since Nintendo will introduce the next chapter of de main series next year, I don't really understand what these people complain about.

A lot of critics say that the main series is more complex than this game, they also say that Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee feels like a spin-off with an easier approach to its systems, one that might be cool for new players who think Pokemon Sun and Moon are too daunting for them to get into. They are right. And I want to extend a hand to those players, who love Pokemon Go, and want to try something a bit more hardcore, but not as much as the mainline RPG games. This is made for you, but also for those who like Kanto and gladly see it in HD on the big screen. Honestly, this game is polished as hell, it's not bad or broken in any way. It's loads of fun too, but it's just different from what we're used to with Pokemon RPG's. And that is fine.

Not sure what the hate is all about, it's a fantastic game with beautiful graphics and a fun to play adventure. I really enjoyed this game and will probably buy this for my brother who is in middle school.

Older Pokemons were way too complicated with the various systems like EV, Breeding, Random Elements, and natures. This takes away all of that and makes the game much more accessible.

This is straight from my Let's Go Pikachu review:

No, no, NO, NO, NO!!! THIS IS TERRIBLE!!! Where do I even begin with this? Well lets start with the biggest problem with this game, it is a full priced Switch game, for how little content there is. A Kanto rehash for $60 USD? I might as well just replay Fire Red and Leaf Green, or Heartgold and SoulSilver. Now as for the game itself,

Now as for the game itself, oh god almighty... It carries the flaws that Game Freak never bothered to fix (thanks Masuda) while TAKING OUT features.
This game keeps the nature system while it retcons abilities, and hold items, and takes out a lot of attacks notably Dragon Dance, Giga Drain which is merged with mega drain, and rapid spin, and defog, btw for competitive players Stealth Rocks is still in the game so have fun. Oh and the EV system changed from being maxed out at 252, I can't necessarily explain it's like 200 in every stat if possible. YET THEY LEAVE IN THE IV SYSTEM, THANKS GAME FREAK.

This game also LAGS when there are too many pokemon on the screen, ya you noticed in the trailers when they showed Co-op the FPS dropped? Well you weren't crazy, this game is HORRIBLY OPTIMIZED, while looking like the ORAS chibi models, but somehow being even **** It was bad enough when they removed Triple, and Rotation battles in Generation 7. But dear god Lets Go makes those games look like solid Pokemon games... Seriously, how many generations of taking out features, yet they can't even fix the goddamn FPS? AND implement multiple save features. No wonder why Game Freak had to go to HAL for help back in the day. ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE, and it really shows with this game.

Main story is just Kanto... Again, and again... except with no Game Corner, with another friendly rival, with worse graphics than the 3ds games. Gym leaders don't even have full movesets sometimes. Seriously? An Alakazam with just Psychic and Nightshade? Wheres Shadow Ball, and Focus Blast, and some other coverage attack!??!? Also the Elite Four first match got deleveled slightly.

Rivalwise, HE'S ANOTHER FRIEND YET AGAIN, ya know for a company that really loves Kanto so much, you would think they would actually implement a proper rival like Blue, or Silver. But no of course not just like in Generation 5-7 seriously Game Freak piss off with this trend. He heals you up, and gives you items. Oh and btw Cerulean Cave is really disappointing.

Now a lot of people already went off on the stupid GO style of capturing, which is just stupid since it's taking out a core aspect of Pokemon since GEN 1, the capturing mechanics in GO weren't even the liked aspects of it. It was the exploration and going to different real life locations to get a rare mon. Anyhow it's braindead as hell, and there is almost no challenge with the actual capturing. Seriously Mewtwo should be kicking your ass, not a wrist-flicker fest.

Endgame is extremely barebones, even more so than X/Y, and Sun and Moon. You rematch the gym leaders, fight the e4 again, and capture Mewtwo, and fight more elite trainers, the fight Green, and Red? Blue is already a new gym leader so I didn't count him, but that's it for content? And again this is being charged as a full priced triple-a Nintendo game???

The animations are lazy. Look at any kick related attacks in Pokemon Stadium 1, and 2. Both games that were made during the N64 days, and compare it to say... Double Kick in Let's Go. Also Blastoise still doesn't use his cannons. Come on Game Freak you retcon the other gens and left it as strictly Gen Wun, yet you don't take the time to make the animations less **** This is even worse than in Gen 6, and 7.

No Switch Pro Controller support, are you serious Game Freak? Just why... WHY WHY WHY.
On a side note I forgot to mention that if you want Melmetal, have fun getting it since you have to feed Meltan 400 candies in GO. Also the Mew unlock, don't even bother spending $50 on that... Also paid online is a thing. just in other words, if you want Kanto skip these games entirely and just play Fire Red/Leaf Green, or Heartgold/Soulsilver.

Overall the excuse "for casual players" is a stupid excuse that just doesn't work. The original Gen 1, and 2. Were for kids but they still had some degree of freedom and didn't hold your hand every step of the way. Of course Masuda is a senile out of touch incompetent idiot, and clearly doesn't see this. (Look at the guys director track record) This game is somehow more dumbed down than Sun and Moon was. That's an impressive feat. Plus they continued to take out features, yet for some reason they kept in Mega evolutions??? While taking out held items, and abilities? Again as I stated repeatedly, Generation 3, and 4, are more worth your time if you want Kanto. This is a shameless disgusting rip off of a "game" I honestly would go as far as to calling it **** Save your money for Smash Ultimate, don't blow it on this. Hell I would say this isn't even worth pirating it's just that ****

Overall, I did have a blast playing Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee. I did like visiting all the cities of the original Pokémon games again and seeing all the original Pokémon. However, I really did not like how they changed how you capture Pokémon and I did not like the setup of the Pokémon boxes. For those who want to play this game for nostalgia reasons, I would recommend waiting until a sale comes out before purchasing. For newcomers to Pokémon, this is a really good introduction into the world of Kanto.

It’s hard to make sense of the game that’s basically a Switch port of iOS/Android remake of Pokemon Red/Green. Is it a step forward, step backward – or maybe just a shameless cash-in? Turns out, it’s a great remake – the world looks exactly as we imagined it back when we were staring at black and white pixels of original Red/Green. [Issue#235, p.44]
