    Pikachu and Eve are cute.
I think it is more fun than Pokemon sod shield.
If you do it at first, you might be a little embarrassed because you catch Pokemon without a battle, but it's fun in its own way.

Pokemon lets go is the best way to play gen 1, catching pokemon feels great, graphics are incredible, controls are decent, Seeing pokemon in the overworld is a great addition which I hope stays in the main line games, You cannot use the pro controller which is a minor downside, Your starter cannot evolve which is kinda sad, but it stays true to pokemon yellow. I give this game a 10/10.

I found the Pokeball Plus to be the best controller for capturing followed by handheld then Joy Con, and the ball has been my main choice for playing. The additional trainers to battle, as well as the postgame Master Trainers, adds a good amount of content to an HD presentation of Yellow. And if you have someone who wants to jump in, co op play adds a way to enjoy the adventure together. Overall, I absolutely recommend this to any fans of the series, old or new. Expand

Catching pokemon is now fun and rewarding instead of tedious and frustrating, as well as ultimately useless in most cases. Finding pokemon with good IVs is now something you work towards using both skill and determination, instead of blind luck. HMs no longer take move slots. There is just so much to love here and the blind hate it's getting is really sad...

The pokeball plus is amazing in this game. Taking my pokemon to work with my and watching their levels skyrocket when I get home is such a great feeling, way better than the pikachu accessory I had as a kid that would reward me with pure **** It's also a great controller in it's own right for this specific game...

That all said, the game is far from perfect. The cuteness overload of your companion is overwhelming at times. The game is WAY too easy and will stay that way if you take full advantage of the mechanics, you kinda control the difficulty yourself depending on how you play. The control options are limited, internet options are kind of a joke, and you still only have one save(per profile anyways). There is definitely some give and take here, but IMO if this count as a main line pokemon game, it's easily the best since gold/silver... Here's hoping for a Johto DLC!

I hate it when people decide to destroy scores based on their entitled notions of what they believe this game should be to them. So I wrote this to say that if you're a parent with a small child that likes Pokemon Go, it's a blast to play this together. It's Kanto of old with some fun new twists thrown in, and having Eevee or Pikachu with you feels amazing. It's like playing the anime. Don't listen to the manbabies that think every game should catter to their crystalized taste of what a Pokemon game is. I've had loads of fun with Sun and Moon, but also with this simpler entry, and I don't even have kids. But I can still appreciate it for what it tries to do. And since Nintendo will introduce the next chapter of de main series next year, I don't really understand what these people complain about.

A lot of critics say that the main series is more complex than this game, they also say that Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee feels like a spin-off with an easier approach to its systems, one that might be cool for new players who think Pokemon Sun and Moon are too daunting for them to get into. They are right. And I want to extend a hand to those players, who love Pokemon Go, and want to try something a bit more hardcore, but not as much as the mainline RPG games. This is made for you, but also for those who like Kanto and gladly see it in HD on the big screen. Honestly, this game is polished as hell, it's not bad or broken in any way. It's loads of fun too, but it's just different from what we're used to with Pokemon RPG's. And that is fine.

While I was skeptical at first about the way wild encounters worked, it actually ended up being one the best features. Going through a cave, randomly getting attacked by 1,000,000 zubats was one of the most annoying things about older pokemon games. Now, I can pick and choose my battles, and seeing the pokemon actually moving around in the world is awesome.

The graphics in the game are amazing. Whether I was playing on the TV or handheld the pokemon looked great, and the animations for their attacks were even better.

Even the way that switching your pokemon in and out of your party is better. Instead of having to go to a computer at the pokecenter every time you want to change, instead you just open up your menu and switch whenever you want.

While the Pokemon Go catching aspect I dont truly care for, the rest of the game makes up for it, and I hope they employ some of these features in future games.

Comparing it to other games doesn't really do the game justice in this sense. This game isn't meant for everyone but the game itself is a great game and it deserves at least some respect. After putting some hours into this game its clear to see exactly what and who this game is meant for. While other games in the last have focused on battling and progression this series is meant to focus on the aspect of collecting. As for the audience, I expect most people to either be new to the series or veterans playing to enjoy a causal experience while strolling through a region that may have impacted their childhood. Also being able to play Pokémon on the TV is a big plus. Overall, if you don't think the game is for you then you're probably right but that doesn't mean it not for everyone. This was NEVER meant to be a version of the game used at tournaments, etc. If you thought it was, that's on you for not spending your 100$ (or 60$) more carefully, Game Freak even SAID AS MUCH when they announced it, following up the announcement that a real core-series game would be soon to follow.

Regardless, for what this game is meant to be, I am enjoying it very much so thus far. It is a laid back game where I can sit on my couch after work and enjoy myself for a short bit before sleep.

    Graphics: 7/10

While not quite the major difference I had originally expected with the move to Switch, they are fairly decent. I enjoy seeing the Pokémon depicted in this great of detail, as it is a noticeable improvement even from the most recent iteration on the 3DS (Ultra Sun/Moon).

    Gameplay: 9/10

As mentioned earlier, I knew what this game was intentioned to be, and it performs brilliantly as that. It is a much more relaxed version of the core series games, either meant to bring more casual players into the fold or (Tin foil hat on) a sort of test-run for the core series game coming later. I enjoy using the Pokeball plus controller to play the game and using it to catch wild pokemon. While I do miss having battles in the wild, the fact that "grinding" is still available through catching repeatedly AND that loop is reinforced via sending duplicates to the Professor (and receiving EV candies in return), it works for me. Currently have gotten to the 4th gym and have thouroughly enjoyed myself thus far.

    Performance: 9/10

Not much to say here, the motion controls have worked great with the custom controller so far. I have experienced ONE issue of Framerate drops (In Viridian Forest) and it lasted roughly 3 seconds. No glaring issues to speak of here at all.

    Sound: 10/10

I love the updated soundtrack for this game , deriving most of its music from Red/Blue/Yellow and simply updating it from the 16-bit sound from the games or yore. Maybe due to nostalgia, maybe not, but the first time I fought a gym leader in this game I was distinctly reminded of a 9 year old me , sneaking to stay awake in my bunk bed to keep playing and finally get to Brock the first time. Absolutely nothing negative to report from the Soundtrack from my perspective, excellent work.

+I LOVE being able to see Pokemon on screen instead of random encounters

If you're looking for a true, Pokemon RPG with all 1,000+ Pokemon, EV & IV Stat Training, Wild Pokemon Encounter Battles, etc., that game is coming next year. Pokemon Let's Go is very much about reliving the original experience while also bringing in a new generation of Pokemon Fans that maybe aren't familiar with the original story. In that regard, Pokemon Let's Go certainly succeeds, and I will have a hard time not recommending this to friends that also grew up with the original adventure in 1996.

However, after playing about 20 hours of the game and getting about half-way through the main story, I must say, I love this game. The change in how wild Pokemon catching works is actually quite good. The overall simplification of a game series that, in my opinion, was getting more complicated just to add complexity, feels right. Overall I love the new mechanic, and wouldn't mind seeing it added on-top of normal battling in future installments.

The graphics are also top-notch in this release, and I love how everything looks with the art style. Really can't do much more to make me happy here.

The only reason this game does not get 10/10 for me is a few minor issues.

1 - I wish it included more than the original 150 Pokemon and the Kanto region. I would love to see at least Gen II and III be represented here in the first installment.

2 - Battling in the main story has been downplayed a lot, I feel like battling trainers is almost not worth your time as they don't provide a lot of experience compared to simply capturing Pokemon.

3 - I am ready for a more adult/gritty Pokemon release, but this is true with all their games. Even you "rival" doesn't feel like a true competitor anymore like they did in the initial games

Otherwise, I feel like this game is a solid installment to the franchise, and I honestly hope that Game Freak and Nintendo keep going down this path.

The only things I could really say that is bad is probably the motion controls, the difficulty, and a little bit of the new wild Pokemon mechanic. The motion controls are generally not too good. They are fun when you get it right, but frustrating when they go in the complete opposite direction of where you intend. It's better with the pokeball plus, but not everyone is willing to buy one. Also, the new wild battle system. It is fun to catch Pokemon like this, but regular wild battles would probably still be better. It's not bad, just it used to be better. However, I really did not like how they changed how you capture Pokémon and I did not like the setup of the Pokémon boxes.
