Apr 24, 2019Picross S3 is another solid entry in Jupiter’s long-lasting Nintendo-centric series. While the lack of touchscreen support is still disappointing, the puzzles are as good as ever and the addition of Color Picross is presented in a smart way that makes me wish more of the puzzles made use of the new hook. Maybe we’ll see that mode expanded on when Picross S4 inevitably hits in 2020.

Apr 24, 2019Picross S3 is not only the biggest overall package the series has seen so far but also the most consistently enjoyable. While I don’t think I’ll ever be savvy enough to tackle the intimidating Mega Picross, the 150 new standard puzzles, the return of Clip Picross and the addition of the excellent Color Picross ensure you’ll be kept busy for months to come.

Apr 30, 2019You probably already know if you’re going to pick up this game or not; Picross S3 hasn’t changed much from its predecessor and the same will likely be said about the inevitable Picross S4. That being said, we especially enjoyed the introduction of the Color Picross mode here, as it notably builds on the foundation of Picross in interesting and challenging ways, bringing something new to the arguably stale formula. Picross S3 is easily the best entry in the series on the Switch and it's one that we can easily recommend to both fans and newcomers alike. Naturally, those of you that have played the previous games will want to take a minute to ask yourself if you’re down for another few hundred Picross puzzles, but this represents the most bang for your buck in this Switch sub-series yet and stands as an excellent example of how to do a puzzle game right.

May 3, 2019Get this one for Colour Picross - it's great fun and worth a bash if Picross is your thing at all. If you're new, get this for the great amount of content. It'll keep you busy for 30+ hours and it's only $15! No-one's going to judge if you skip Mega Picross though.

Apr 29, 2019Even if it doesn't add touch screen feature and seems to lack some real novelty, Picross S3 offers dozens of new images to discover with a principle that can kill every minute of your spare time without you noticing it. It's a fair entry entry in the series with a fun new mode, Color Picross, that sadly feels very short with only 30 puzzles.

Aug 26, 2019Picross S3 definitely improved since its predecessor Picross S2. Especially the newly added colour picross mode is a lot of fun to play and makes a real difference in the gameplay experience. This entry offers more variability, making it easier to play longer and harder to get bored. However, it still has a variety of flaws that could be tended to in the future.

Apr 29, 2019I feel like video games are loud, and getting increasingly louder. And if you want to play something that isn’t constantly yelling at you about how many dang side quests you have left to do, consider Picross as the antidote to gameplay anxiety — the puzzle equivalent of one of those lofi chill beats for depression YouTube compilations.

Jul 4, 2019The presentation is excellent but Picross S3 contains waaaay too many easy beginner-style puzzles.
