  • Summary: The purpose of this game is to try to teach people about building PCs while still having fun. Striving to make it a fun game to play but also a tool to plan builds or for those who want to practice this hobby without spending thousands of dollars.

It's not a game for everyone, that much is obvious. But what it does, it actually does quite well.

Really the problem is that even the fun that can be had in PC Building Simulator simply isn’t worth the trouble of the painfully slow and clumsy user interface. This is a game that is surprising to find on a non-PC platform but disappointing to learn that it probably should have stayed there. It can really only be recommended if you are a die hard PC enthusiast who doesn’t have a PC.

Meaning your officer PC cannot be customised, the 3rd desk in non-existent and quite a few parts are missing.

Performance wise, the game is pretty bad. If they had to remove these things to make it run better, I'd hate to see it with those things. I think it just needs some touching up.

Controls are pretty bad. Touchscreen is pretty finicky, pressing the same spot twice will yield different results, meaning you might activate something or you might not. Plus, this game was designed for PCs, meaning the interface can be a bit of a hassle to get through.

Overall, I recommend getting this on any other platform, unless you wanna play this game on the go.

Tl;dr: bad port for a good game.
Pricing of the game is decent and content is good. However, it is quite not optimized for switch to the point where if you haven't played the pc game before then you will not be able to enjoy this game. Reason 1: not optimized for small screens. People do play their Nintendo switch as handhelds. Reason 2: very mediocre joycon support with some game elements very hard to interact with. It's slightly better if played with touch control/ joycon mix. However, reason 3: touch control is a complete afterthought, meaning it is bad bad. Conclusion: I would like to enjoy the game but it's more of a punishment game to play on Nintendo switch (do enjoy pc ver.). The game port for switch appears to be an afterthought released to grab more cash with minimal investment in the actual porting process.

The controls just don't meld well with the precision needed for some parts, and steering a mouse pointer with a control stick never seems comfortable. They should work more on adapting the game to the console, with some other interaction methods for cabling, screws etc (I know touch works, but fat fingers on that small screen just don't work well enough). Good game with a fun career mode (if you're into building PC:s). It just doesn't work well on the Switch. Get the PC version and forget this one exists. Expand
