The “Parking Garage Rally Circuit” tour comes into a city, selects a parking garage, and temporarily turns it into an exciting rally course for a week-long competition. Each track in the game is styled as a unique parking garage that has been turned into a race course.

This is a hybrid of Rally and circuit racing. From rally it draws the jumps and “one racer at a time against the clock” time-trial format. However, the tracks are similar to circuit racing, with each race consisting of multiple laps around the same track (the track may change slightly from lap to lap, however) Controls are very tight, simple and arcadey, similar to Mario Kart (accelerate, reverse, steer, drift), but with a bit more dynamic “smash into things” physics.

Parking Garage Rally Circuit knows exactly what it is: a tight racing game that feels like a victory lap of the arcade racers that inspired it. The controls are perfect. The visuals are somehow of its time yet timeless. And when everything clicks together this is a phenomenal racing game for both experts and newcomers alike. It would’ve been nice to play together with friends online, but I suppose their ghosts will have to do. This game feels like one of those small hidden gems that’s going to stand the test of time, one that doesn’t require tweaking with cars or switching between manual or automatic shifting. It isn’t clinging to the past but rather celebrating those that came before. Let the meter run a little bit longer, because being stuck in this parking garage has been nothing but pure joy.

While it has a definite 90’s racing vibe, and some niche drifting appeal, it’s also a bit too narrowly-focused and limited to garner greater attention.
