    The oppressing setting of Outlast 2 and its skillful use of all horror codes injects a level of tension rarely achieved in a survival game.

    Outlast 2 does little to elevate it beyond the original Outlast. What results is a well put together, but ultimately predictable, and even generic horror experience. At times the story stumbles into masterpiece territory, but then quickly course corrects back into a generic evil cult plotline.

    Thanks to its ambiance, sound environment and plot, this is a good effort at creating a horror-themed game for the Nintendo Switch. It is not as immersive as it should be and it becomes inevitable to compare it to the original but Outlast 2 still has assets to allow it to stand on its own.

    Outlast 2 does not quite reach even the average moments of the first game. However, what saves this is Red Barrels' talented artists and voice actors.

    Outlast 2 is a sequel that delivers. It's prettier, scarier, longer and more interesting. It does basically everything better than itsOutlast 2 is a sequel that delivers. It's prettier, scarier, longer and more interesting. It does basically everything better than its predecessor: the levels are bigger, the enemies are smarter, and the story is more articulate. And yes, it's more terrifying, if that's even possible. The Switch version of Outlast 2 is not too different from the PC and console versions released last year.… Full Review »
