Great vibe and art style. A perfect game for the Switch that you play every now and then. What is nice about this game is that it explains step by step what the possible combinations are. It keeps the levels fresh and challenging without losing track of the player. The makers don't force you to do anything impossible either. No super highscores or unbearable challenges. I gave it 6/10 because i had fun the first 60% of the game...and you should not pay more then 60% of the MSRP. The soundtrack slaps, the graphics are cute and the gameplay is great at first. You are able to do nice combos and satisfing tricks because there is an impact to everything. Feels really good. The story is stupid and i stopped reading everything because it doesn't matter. You are able to do nice combos and satisfing tricks because there is an impact to everything. Feels really good. The story is stupid and i stopped reading everything because it doesn't matter. After you reach the point where you "learn" the manuals it becomes a hot mess gameplay wise. The controls seem interesting at first because you think to yourself "it's a 2.5D scroller, it's gonna be a simplified control sceme." But that's wrong. The controls become so cumbersome to a point where it is more complicated than THPS but you still have no control over your speed or the direction you're going. It scrolls fast or very fast and often you just can't see whats happening in front of you. Making things worse is the leveldesign in the later courses. Of course you have to do a lot of stuff in very short time but because you have little control over your movement they tried to fix this fact by giving random properties to the ramps and rails and that results in spots where your character gets yeeted in the air to make a big gap sometimes. That makes it harder if you want to get consistent results if you go for new maps and rely purely on your skill. In the end you are forced to try and error everything which is cumbersome. A game should make fun but this is just plain memorizing work. The concept crumbles upon it self. Expand

OlliOlli World is a finishing touch for the saga. In addition to having excellent gameplay, a large number of levels and good mechanics, it knows how to make it more accessible for newer players. It doesn't lose the level of challenge.

OlliOlli World delivers a fantastically fun and motivating experience based on skateboarding in a 2D environment, fully in line with its predecessors. Joining an excellent level design and magnificent artwork and soundtrack, OlliOlli World pushes players to perform in a creative and daring way through its skillfully designed levels and the result is a game that fits perfectly, whether on a television screen or on the Nintendo Switch screen.

While I might have liked slightly more memorable levels or stronger personality from the supporting cast, OlliOlli World provides hours of skating bliss with rock-solid controls and a great sense of progression. Once you’re in the zone, it’s easy to lose hours as your quest for Gnarvana provides a sense of gaming nirvana. This one’s definitely worth a look.
