For a game that's almost 20 years old, Munch's Oddysee on the Switch holds up incredibly well. It's a fun and creative platformer in an odd world that is still super fun to play and figure out from start to finish. Don't expect any technical leaps forward or special additions to this Switch version. If you already own Munch's Oddysee on another platform, there is not much reason to buy the Switch port, unless you must have a portable version of it at all times.

As previous iterations, Munch's Oddysee lacks the charm from the original 2D games. When it jumped to the 3D real, new doors were open, as new problems, focused in the camera and controls, that are present here. It's a more typical platformer, with easier puzzles. But it still is an endearing game that fans of the series will enjoy.

As an easy-to-pickup game, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is an enjoyable choice for those who aren’t looking for too much of a challenge but would like to utilize their brain and platforming skills for something fun and simple. With an interesting plot and two funky protagonists, Munch’s Oddysee provides a smartly made game with forgiving deaths and options, giving players the freedom to explore with minimal consequences. Although the puzzles could be spiced up a little, the overall customizable experience and well-made gameplay are something to be celebrated.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD encapsulates a time in gaming when 3D puzzle platformers were still in their infancy yet its campaign is undeniably fun and full of variety. However, many facets of its adventure simply don't hold up well with today's standards in mind.

The game runs fantastically on the Switch with full 60fps animation and surprisingly decent looking textures for a game that was released in 2001 (and subsequently touched-up and rereleased for almost every platform under the sun since then). Sure the platforming feels a little sluggish and the level design is very by-the-numbers, but the unique gameplay and silly humour have really stood the test of time, and I genuinely enjoyed going back and revisiting this classic gem from my childhood.

Overall, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is a classic game that might be stuck in 2001 visually, but still is fun to play thanks to the story and characters.

Although with some facilities, the level of challenge offered by Oddworld: Munch's Oddysse remains satisfactory, capable of creating some headaches for users particularly prone to collecting.

This is a good port of the original game, but the game itself hasn’t aged very well. It has some good ideas, but we find Much’s Odyssey to be the least interesting entry in the series.

Oddworld: Munch's Odyssey is almost as good as when it first came out, but the visuals are quite dated, and it's a pity that no localization whatsoever is available, so go away if you don't speak English.

Munch’s Oddysee is worth experiencing if you missed it the first time around, it's a unique puzzle exploration title that revolves around a passive-aggressive play style.

When Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee released on the original Xbox, it came with high praise and was one of my personal favorite titles from that system. The game was mind-blowing at launch, but almost two decades later, a lot of it is rough around the edges. The cutscenes, world-building, and storytelling hold up to this day, but almost all of the gameplay elements are out of place compared to modern games, with the wonky, tough-to-handle controls taking the cake.

There is not much to write about Munch's Oddysee that hasn't been written. A classic title for the Xbox and a great game in general. The only flaw in this poor Switch edition, is that it provides nothing more than the absolute basics.

Munch’s Oddysee was a not very well made 3D platformer twenty years ago. Playing it today adds nothing to the memory of a historical saga that has much more to offer with the first unforgettable episodes in 2D.

While it does exhibit a lot of absurd charm, this HD remaster of Munch’s Oddysee simultaneously holds up both with its unique characters and world while also showing its age in varying degrees in its gameplay.

Although it was good in 2001, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is let down on Nintendo Switch by awkward camera angles, frustrating controls, and bland environments.

Munch's Oddysee is the second chapter of the Oddworld saga on Nintendo Switch. However, it cannot offer an experience absent of disappointment and imperfections.

It’s a great shame that I didn’t enjoy Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee as much as I did Oddworld: New N’ Tasty and Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath. Some of it comes down to ageing poorly, but a lot of it is simply feeling like the gameplay doesn’t really translate very well to a 3D environment. For the Oddworld-mad like myself, it’s still worth playing through for its charm and occasionally smart puzzles, but for anyone on the fence, it’s probably the least recommendable game of the series.

Munch's Oddysee is the worst work of the Oddworld franchise and comes to Nintendo Switch with a remastering with hardly any changes beyond the technical section to result in a very mediocre title.

This third installment of the series, Munch's Oddysee is a flawed yet enjoyable game for its first entry in 3D. However, this port of the 2011's remaster still has some issues, such as remaining bugs and inadequate button assignments.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee adds one more dimension, but throws what made the original a classic out of the window. Not only this doesn't have the beautiful visuals of the PlayStation duology, or its fantastic atmosphere and narrative strength, but it's also far from a fun, cinematic puzzle-platformer - in fact, it's not even a puzzle-platformer, but just a collection of boring tasks sewn together, and masquerading as an adventure.

A timestamp of a transitional period for 3D platformers, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee may muster up nostalgia for original players, but the clunky, tedious platforming and missions reveal what a true fossil of the genre this entry has become.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is a conversion of a game that originally came out nineteen years ago and while the Oddworld series is undoubtedly an outstanding example in platform games, this conversion work falls way behind expectations. With few elements that will appeal to contemporary players, this will almost exclusively look interesting for fans of the original and brings little to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Nintendo Switch is probably the best platform for gorgeous 3D platform games. Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee won't be one of them.

It really sucks having to rate Munch's Oddysee so low – this version has obviously been made with care, but as the old saying goes you just can't polish a... well... you know. There are a handful of moments where things come together to a limited extent and the Oddworld magic show signs of life, but it's always been the ugly stepchild of the series and the already-on-Switch follow-up was a brilliant return to form – we hope that the existence of Munch's Oddysee on this format is a matter of simply getting it out of the way before a re-release of the much n better Oddworld: New n' Tasty and the upcoming Oddworld: Soulstorm.

I decided to create profile here, just to write something about this game XD

So first things first - I really love Oddworld games. I am not a pro gamer with super PC, extra game consoles and plenty of new games to complete. I am a regular noobie gamer, who loves playing games from time to time. Oddworld series has the special place in my heart. When Munch Oddysee was realased, i hadn't console to play it and to be honest i wasn't interested to try it due to this huge change from 2D sidescroll to full 3D. BUT! Now I bought Nintendo Switch... I noticed a special offer for Munch Oddysee - it costs only 7,5 $! I knew that, this is the moment. Let's give it a try, and answer the question - is it worth it, to play this game or better not to touch it...

And what can I say.. It's totally crap for me. The story of empire of Glukkons, Sligs and their Mudokon slaves, plays not even a second role - it's forth or fifth role XD The game looks more like Rayman or Kao Challengers with modifications. I am playing this game for almost 3 hours straight, and it's super boring, lagging and it's completly separated form classic Oddworld series.

You need to collect some green blobs to complete levels. The Sligs are now not even scary. You can beat them with your bare hands - that's right XD Now you can fight with Sligs by mashing the button on console, and punching them along with your Mudokkons. Chanting costs you those "green blobs" points. Meeting with other Mudokons is terrible due to the noises. When you say "hello" to them, everyone respond you at the same time. It's so feaking loud, that console speakers sounds like guitar distortion. The second main character, named Munch it's more like an obstacle than assistant. And what is funny, his role is to save a furry, little pets, that squeaking even worse than mentioned group of Mudokons.

Maybe this game was attractive in 2000', but for me, this game is a joke. I preffer to play once again old version of Oddworld (or maybey New'n'Tasty) than playing this. I will try to complete this game, but I don't know if I am patient enough...

/update. It's been another few hours playing this game. Unfortunatley I can't change my opinion :( Besides things I mentioned above, you also need prepare yourself for bugs and glitches... Abe can stuck between textures and you can only restart the level or load quick save (if you saved) to "rescue" him. Eh.
