For all that Nine Witches: Family Disruption does well in terms of game play, the vulgar and uninspiring writing undoes. It’s ok to have a few crude jokes scattered throughout the game, but to have them constantly shoved in your face just made for an unbearable experience. If you can plug your nose and get through the childish writing, well, you might be able to enjoy this game.

Oof! I REALLY want to give this the 8 it deserves (I was having an absolute blast with it- so much fun, good writing, great sense of humour, seamlessly progressive puzzles, and no tricks.) But then, immediately after solving a puzzle at Eklipsfest, a cutscene that should have loaded did not. I can go no further at about 3/4 in.

Nine Witches: Family Disruption is a short little action puzzle game full of toilet humour and pixelated gory goodness. It doesn’t present much of a challenge, but it makes up for it with a fun little story, quirky characters, and delightful dialogue.

Nine Witches: Family Disruption is a really funny game, riding high on its quirky jokes and the comedic timing of its lines. As a whole, it could have benefitted from focusing on developing its characters and polishing the story and presentation. While Nine Witches hits all the right notes to create a charismatic graphic adventure, it has some growing up (both literally and figuratively) to do before becoming an attention-grabbing franchise.
