Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix shows that the developers cared enough about their work to listen to fans. By increasing the character count, expanding the gameplay mechanics with pit crews, and overall increasing the game quality, this game is a secret favorite that is worthy of your time.

Here, nostalgia probably adds to your enjoyment, but even if you strip all that away, you’re still left with a pretty solid kart racer that adds one or two things to the usual formula.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix is packed with hours of fun, much friendly competition, and encouraging new character dynamics who do everything in their power to make sure first place is the only place to be. This is a definite must-have if in search for a new racing simulator, and it's not just for kids either!

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 brings a fresh new wind to karting. The game lets you play as your favorite cartoon characters like The Turtles, Ren and Stimpy, and SpongeBob. The racing part of the game is great. You can shoot other drivers with power-ups and protect yourself with them. Besides racing, you can play different modes like the Arena battle, which makes this a complete game for a lot less than the average karting game.

Mario, Sonic and Crash don't have to worry about losing their parking spots with anyone but the most diehard Nick fans. But as these things go? They did all right. [Issue #50 – January/February 2021, p. 71]

After the disaster that was the first game, this is a remarkable turnaround. With far more Nickelodeon series represented, improved track designs and a power-up customisation feature that lets you enhance your personal racing style, Nickelodeon Kart Racer has gone from one of the most disappointing racing series on the Switch to probably the best one that doesn't feature plumbers or hedgehogs.

There is nothing wrong with Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2. If you enjoy Mario Kart, and like Nickelodeon, then you're the demographic for this game, and you'll get a kick from it. There are no nasty surprises in the way the kart racing action is executed, and it's so overwhelmingly competent it would have been something truly special if it was just a little more interesting. Sadly, the really, really good character mashup games are enjoyable even if you're not a fan of the properties, and Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 doesn't quite get that far.

If you love Nickelodeon shows, will make use of the online multiplayer, and find it on sale, I’d say check out Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix. But without any character clips, I feel like this game wasn’t for me. It drove me crazy.

While Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix is a much improved and enjoyable sequel, the lack of voice acting stops the game from feeling like an authentic Nickelodeon experience.

This is not Mario Kart, but that doesn't mean it cannot be good (i mean, if you were expecting nothing less than a MK8 just go play that one instead, what's the point on buying another game to play the same thing with different skins). Sure it copies a lot from MK, but at this point, which game doesn't? MK has mechanics that works on any other racing kart game, why would any developer ditch them.
The crew system is pretty good and it feels fresh. The visuals are good too, the music is (thank god) such an improvement from the first one, tracks feels good, the rooster is awesome, challenges are "challenging" enough to keep you entertained, if you want to go hardcore beat Insane with 3 stars (i Double-Dare you).
No voice overs... so?, if it were a SpongeBob game and it didn't have voice overs, fine complain all you want. It's a 30 characters game, how much do you really expect them to talk? also, if a game needs VO to be rated "good" it means it's not even good at first place.

It's the big difference from other karting games, and opens up an immense amount of strategy and replayability. I can't stress enough how cool this is, both for single player challenges and competitive play. Still no voices, but the roster is incredible, game controls great, graphics are much better and music is finally good and representative of the series. Full Review »

The improvements in comparison with the first NKR game are huge. Definitely the best addition to the franchise is the crew system. Having so many customization options based on so many characters you can choose from really gives the game their own personality and makes me feel that I still have many things to discover. Driving mechanics were improved so now almost every character feels different from another and ,although almost all the power ups are inspired in Mario Kart items, the crew chiefs change the racing experience in a great way. If you are into karting games or you are a Nickelodeon fan, this game is definitely for you! Full Review »
