    This game is everything I wanted it to be. I loved the original pokemon snap and I was really hoping it would have similar gameplay but with a little more dynamic levels and more content. I got exactly that. For people who felt the game was too short or wasn't anything more than just taking pictures didn't spend much time exploring the game. The levels are all packed full of action, all of which have three variations based on rank and a Day and Night mode. The On-Rails gameplay is essential to make this game a fun challenge. If you could just move freely, there would be no challenge in getting good pictures or triggering events, the game would just be boring and hardly even a game.… Expand

    Brilliant update from the N64 original. The Pokémon are bursting with life and personality, and the graphics are outstanding for the Switch (with rare instances of frame rate drops - looking at you, Wailord!) Quite frankly this is a better-looking, more vibrant and lively Pokémon game than the "flagship" Sword and Shield games. It's absolutely fantastic.

    Not sure what's up with all the review bombing but this game is packed with charm, and showcases an ever-evolving world you're able to capture through an in-game camera. If you loved the original title and are looking for a new and improved version with more fleshed out mechanics, then look no further.     Exactly what you should expect from a Pokemon Snap sequel. The exact same concept as the N64 game, except more Pokemon, more areas, and some online sharing features. A fun touch is when your research levels go up, the areas change up and you will see new Pokemon you didn't see before, or different interactions with those Pokemon.     not sure why this game is being review bombed but it honestly doesn't deserve it it is an improvement in every way from the originals the gameplay is fine graphics are superb and superior to swsh and the new mechanic spice up would be boring segments

    I dont know what people want from this game? To be new Zelda:BOTW? Get real, it just side game, based on quite simple mechanic. I never played oryginal, and im having a blast. This game is extremely charming. It is great chilling material :)

    It's better than the original in every possible way. It has more routes, more paths, day night cycle, more pokemon etc.

    The 0 reviews are wrong. The game is good for what it is. It's a very pretty, chill, relaxing game about taking pictures of Pokemon to earn higher scores, while solving simple puzzles to get the Pokemon to do interesting poses etc. There is no combat or and a fairly basic story, it's about relaxing and photos. It's about an 8 but I'm rating 10 to counter the 0 reviews.

It’s not slow or stale, if anything I wish I could slow down! its super fun and relaxing to tell the truth. My first concern was always going to be the amount of content, but I can tell you: there's a lot of Pokémon and stages to explore! So many in fact, that I think you'll be busy for dozens of hours to see them all.I absolutely LOVE New Pokémon Snap! Though I've always been a huge fan of the original (and I was waiting for a sequel for a long time), I never expected it to be this good. My first concern was always going to be the amount of content, but I can tell you: there's a lot of Pokémon and stages to explore! So many in fact, that I think you'll be busy for dozens of hours to see them all.

    Now, as simple as the story and the concept of this game is (you just go through environments to take photo's of Pokémon to get them graded) there's actually a whole lot of complexity in triggering all the behaviors. Never before were Pokémon presented to us with so much detail, and the amount of things they can do is very impressive. And just when you think you've seen everything a Pokémon can do, they do something new and exciting again. The sense of discovery in this game is huge.

    To fill your 'photodex' you'll need to snap each Pokémon in four different poses/moods. These behaviors are ranked from 1-4 stars, and it's a different puzzle to get to each individual star rank of that Pokémon. You can see it as an NPC with four different quests/puzzles to complete. The in game request board also gives you tips on how to unlock the most difficult ones. With over 200 Pokémon, there's hours upon hours of hunting and puzzle solving to do. You won't be starved for content at all.

    Each of the beautifully designed levels is also upgradable. By doing the courses, you earn XP that changes the course. New Pokémon will appear, but you'll also unlock branching paths and 'illumina orbs' for that island/area. The latter can be used to make Pokémon glow, which helps you create beautiful night-time photographs. With more than 20 courses and three skills levels per course to complete, you'll have a lot of ground to cover.

    Look, this game is really not for the min/maxing battle-savvy type player that needs constant action in their games, so judging it by those standards is incredibly unfair. This game is for those of us who enjoy chill and laidback experiences like Animal Crossing and Pikmin. If you are a long time Pokémon fan like I am, and love taking pictures of your favorite monsters in beautiful environments (or just someone who loves a good puzzle) this game is for you. Buy this and you won't regret it.    … Expand

    with the addition of branching paths, day/night cycles, expedition points, and tons of new levels filled with new pokemon, New pokemon snap easily surpasses it's predecessor. this is the new best pokemon spin off.

    Bandai Namco really pulled through with this spin off. The graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is super fun, the music is great and the Pokemon have new cries that more fit them. If you bought the old Pokemon Snap, this one is definitely recommended.

With over 800 Pokemon to chose from, the excitement is never-ending. A Pokemon you didn't expect, maybe even a favorite, popping up in your lens as you look around. Neutral to certain Pokemon before? You may find yourself surprised as seeing them do adorable things quickly turns them into a new favorite. You visit so many different areas to see so many types of Pokemon, and not only is there so much to see, there's even more when you level up each area. And even more when you unlock seeing the same area at night time, which basically makes it an all new location! This constant feeling of progression and replay-ability create a stride that always keeps you going, whether you're looking for a relaxing way to spend the afternoon, or are on a hunt to fill your Photodex, you always have a reason to come back and play more! This game can easily be played for over a hundred hours with new stuff to see every time you play it, and it makes me so happy to still be playing it nearly 2 months later.

    To say this game is the perfect sequel I've waited 2 decades for is an understatement. This game takes an already amazing concept and truly makes it feel "New." A fresh bright adventure in a big region, seeing these amazing creatures do amazing things, being able to interact with them and grow a rapport, and truly feel like you're living in the Pokemon world. I could write more paragraphs about the types of ways you can interact with the Pokemon, the unique areas you can visit, or the thrill of trying to get 4 perfect pictures of each Pokemon to fill your Photodex. But honestly, this is a journey meant to be explored on your own, and I encourage all my friends who love Pokemon to do just that.    … Expand

    One of the most relaxed pokemon games, my favorite part about this game is the interactions you have with the pokemon. For Example: Throwing an apple at a pokemon making it wake up (and sometimes make them angry). Overall 9/10, but I am going to give it a 10/10 to balance out the bots.

    Honestly a really beautiful and fun game for people of all ages. It is reminiscent of the first Pokemon snap well having amazing enough dated graphics that surpass everything in the series thus far. 10/10 would recommend

    This game is a masterpiece! They have used the foundations of the original game to build a great spin off title from the main Pokémon series. Would recommend this to everyone.

It'll take you about 15 hours to complete it but it has SOOOO much replayability.... To get all 4* photos for every Pokemon and do every "request" will make you spend about 30 hours. It's very linear and literally on rails, but that's only there to serve the purpose of giving the world the gorgeous scenery with pokemon acting in ways you'd definitely never find in Sword and Shield. It has the chance to get repetitive, but going through a stage again changes things in little ways. You see something new every time, especially when you focus your attention in different directions than before. As someone who enjoys the aesthetics of a game just as much as the gameplay, this game was spot on for me. I'm loving my time with it, and if you want to be immersed in the pokemon version of nature photography and ecological cataloging, this game might be for you!… Expand

It expands upon everything from the original and is essentially exactly what I wanted from this game.     This ones getting a solid 10 from me because I’m just having such a great time playing it. I get that some people want more from a £50 game, like a full open world map. And I liked being able to move around objects and monsters to take photos for the Hyrule compendium, but this is Pokémon snap and whilst it could have been bigger with more Pokémon for £50, it’s doing a great job at being aThis ones getting a solid 10 from me because I’m just having such a great time playing it. When they first announced it, I was afraid on how it would be a very short game with maybe 5 hours of gameplay with secrets included, but no, I am many hours in and I feel like I am barely started. So far, every stages I visited have a day and night variant and each of them have many ''levels'' in each variants that upgrades the level adding more pokemons and changing their behaviors, as an example, in the very first level you have pichu and grooky being coutious about you, but the more you progress, the more they will approach you, showing that they grew more confortable with you plus new paths gets unlocked too. Another point that makes it even more replayable is how you get extra missions given to you by the other characters and how every pokemons have a 1, 2, 3 and 4 stars poses with each of them having a bronze to diamond ranking system making you search real hard to find each perfect poses. The only thing I am missing from the original are the real time evolutions, so far i haven't seen any and I don't think there will be any, but with the amount of pokemons having more than tripled with way more replayability on top on an already expanded concept, this game is great and in my most honest opinion, this is a must get despite being ''just an on rail safari shooter''… Expand

The music is pretty good, and the voice acting is awesome. Erica Mendez always get bonus points. The gameplay itself is fun, and going through a new course for the first time is such a fun experience. If you love pokemon, seeing them all just living life is a magical experience. Outside of the main gameplay there are plenty of fun features like looking at other peoples photos online, editing your photos, or looking through the photodex. The story is pretty good, nothing amazing but the story is far from the focus in this game. There is only one real complaint I have, that being sometimes you'll get a sidequest/request that you completed before you got it and will have to do it again which is annoying. i LOVE how the game gives focus to tons of pokemon, not just popular ones, and even gives the spotlight to pokemon like Meganium. There are about 200 pokemon in the game and its a treat to see new ones as you play. An all around fun experience that can appeal to all ages, and for hardcore pokemon fans it is a must play.… Expand

    Sometimes it's not obvious how to move forward, but I believe this adds to the experience by going through some levels again and searching for secrets.     An excellent game! It is kind of the friendlier first-person shooter around. The whole art behind it is simply perplexing and the idea of a different kind of interaction in the Pokemon universe is awe inspiring.

    Photos become very personable and the tools to edit are very in depth. Only issue I took was why does it take so long for the blur setting to move from left to right?

    The photodex is also very interactive and allows you to rotate the high quality models, make them perform brilliant animations, and give actual up to date battle cry sounds that don't rip your ear to shreds. I never knew how much I wanted updated Pokemon cries until playing New Snap.

    Lastly the gameplay and graphics are wonderful. I can't stress enough how much more BandaiNamco reached Pokemon's potential far better than GameFreak has in over 20 years.    … Expand

    Such a fun, beautiful and relaxing safari adventure with pokemon. The graphics are amazing, the atmosphere makes you feel inside a safari. Such a amazing sequel to the first one. Improved in every way. Sometimes the switch stutter a bit, but nothing that would lessen the experience.

    I love the variety of interactions in this game. I have more than 5 hours of playthrough and I just kept exploring the same first areas just because I enjoyed it so much.
    It definitely has room for updates for online feature (like following someone to know everytime they have a new photo uploaded) and DLC, but the game has already delivered everything it has promised.

This sequel is all I've ever wanted from it: it's charming, cute und strangely addictive.
    It has a great replay value because for each location there are research levels (1-4) On each level theres new things happening, for example new interactions or even new Pokemon. The Pokemon get more comfortable to you and i can't help but care for all of them (new snap made me love Pokemon i didnt care about before like Bidoof lol). You also discover secret branches in each areas that lead you to discover entirely new things! There's tons of hidden stuff and secrets.
    I particularly love that most courses have a night version too! My god, going through the jungle at night, watching all the glowing plants and lights is gorgeous!! I replayed the jungle probably 30 times and i still didn't explore everything. Each Pokemon has 4 different poses worth of stars too, so like bidoof for example, when he's just chilling its 1 star, when he's eating an apple it's 2 stars, when he's building his dam it's 3 stars and 4 stars you get when you snap him swimming happily. For me it's a ton of fun trying to get all 4 stars for every Pokemon.
    Yes, it's true, not all Pokemon are included in this game. My favorite Pokemon for example isn't included and you know what? That's absolutely fine! Imagine 700+ Pokemon in 4 different stars, i'd get so tired. I'd rather have less Pokemon but those added being charming and cute.

    The only thing I'd maybe criticize would be that Pokemon evolving is mising in the game & maybe the music. The courses are without music but then again, you hear the environment, the cries of the Pokemon and more, which makes it feel more realistic.

    To everyone who loved the original: pick this game up, I promise you'll love it.
    If you're new to the series: if you don't mind that there's no fighting and rather you'd like to observe and explore, give this game a go. I tend do be very critical with games, but this one I absolutely love!

    Conclusion:

    + gorgeous environments
    + adorbale Pokemon that feel alive and real
    + tons of stuff to explore, like secret branches in areas
    + night time of the courses is BEAUTIFUL & there's different pokemon!
    + research levels & 4 star point systems give replay value for each course
    + diverse courses: jungle, park, desert, deep sea flooring, beach, forest & more
    + sharing pictures with friends online, you can see their snaps
    + requests give extra challenge, like snapping a Pokemon in a rare pose etc.

    Excellent game that has everything I could want in a sequel for Pokemon Snap. The graphics are breath taking and the variety of Pokemon per stage is huge (plus the night mode of each stage). They even sprinkled in some lore and characters. Everytime I see a new Pokemon I haven't photographed I get so excited!! Fun play for all ages.

    This game has been amazing so far!! At first I was not sure if I would like this type of game since I have not enjoyed Pokemon spin-off before, but this game is a positive exception! Amazing looking game with a lot stuff to do. Pokemons interact with you which is huge plus. I have already used many hours by taking pictures of different Pokemons and finishing tasks. 10/10

    New snap is exactly what I expected and is very enjoyable. I play for the enjoyment of seeing the Pokémon and interactions. They kept it very close to the last Snap game but added more features to keep the game play fun like special photo challenges. I am enjoying my time in the Lentil region. The games title says it all its New snap.

    This is a brilliant game, it is something different in the world of pokemon, a creative and relaxing experience, and by far the best looking pokemon game that has been made to date. The concept is that you travel to different locations as a ecological researcher, and take pictures or pokemon in their natural habitat. The more you play each level the pokemon start to trust you and more appear in different scenarios. There is a lot of depth as you have to activate certain sequences to entice specific pokemon to appear. It's very relaxing and pleasurable, and gets your creative juices flowing try to catch great snaps of the cute little critters. It is a satisfying challenge trying to beat your previously rated photographs, and the fact you can only submit one photograph of a pokemon breed per run is not a bad thing (which what people have been complaining about) it creates an element of challenge and replayability.

    If this doesn't sound the type of things you would enjoy then fair enough, but that doesn't mean to say it is a poor game, far from it. This is a stunning, well put together, unique and enjoyable game.    … Expand

    Wonderfully relaxing game, and will be great to introduce my children to the series as well as a complete fulfillment of my own childhood dream for a sequel. Very well done with great mechanics. Only negative is a lack of evolutions, but easily overlooked with the other great content.

    Truly an amazing art piece of a game! Takes the idea of the N64 game and expands upon it in a big way! Love this game and would give it an 11 if I could!

    It's one of the best pokemon side games I've ever played. I've been playing it non stop since it came out and the graphics are amazing! I don't get tired of playing the levels over and over again because there's always something new to discover, maybe a new path, a new reaction from a pokemon, or a very well hidden pokemon you didn't see the first 10 times you've gone through.     This is perfectly and EXACLY what I expected from a new Pokemon SNAP game- no battles, beautiful courses, a focus on practicing, repeating, and perfecting your shots, tons of personality and interactions between Pokemon to enjoy and observe, a minimal story so you can spend more time out in the world, and tons of replayability, with new paths and pokemon added to each course as youThis is perfectly and EXACLY what I expected from a new Pokemon SNAP game- no battles, beautiful courses, a focus on practicing, repeating, and perfecting your shots, tons of personality and interactions between Pokemon to enjoy and observe, a minimal story so you can spend more time out in the world, and tons of replayability, with new paths and pokemon added to each course as you progress and take more and more shots in each course. Encourages exploration and experimentation to find every pokemon and every behavior. Utterly impossible to "complete" this game in "a few hours," unless you're literally just blitzing through courses and focusing on the extremely minimal story, which is not how you should be approaching a game like Pokemon Snap. I've been having a blast. "Only" 200ish Pokemon appear in this game, a common complaint- but it's a drastic improvement over the 50 or so in the original, and a limited roster is to be expected.… Expand

    In a nutshell: as a researcher, you travel to various places, interact with wild Pokémon and take photos to document their behavior. This simple concept only works thanks to the Pokémon, but it doesn’t have to be a drawback, because the game shows the world of pocket monsters more realistically and vividly than any title before it.
