    Achei muito gostosinho e relaxante. Foi exatamente o que eu esperava quando comprei o jogo. Sai muito satisfeito e achei que valeu o dinheiro que paguei na compra. Existem poucos jogos relaxantes. Esse estimula curiosidade e encanto.

    The only two things that bothered me were the music –which left much to be desired– and the wasted potential of the photo editor; the filters, stickers and frames could have been way better. Also, the fact that just a maximum of 6 pictures could be displayed in the online page was a bit disappointing.

    Other than that, the game is fantastic. If you enjoy Pokémon and Photography, and just want to relax, New Pokémon Snap is definitely for you.

    Sound: 6/10
    There’s really nothing super big I can bring up about the music and sound fxs. The music is certainly better than Pokemon Snap’s late 90s era MIDI music. And sound fxs do the job well enough. But neither are really anything to write home about.

    While I can’t comment on the English voice acting, I can say the Japanese voice acting was pretty superb overall. Though the professor’s one liner comments at the end of each picture review did get tiring rather quickly.

    Gameplay: 9/10
    So the controls, options at your disposal and general feel of the game is really great. But I have a confession to make: When I played this game a year ago, I assumed in order to progress I needed to finish the side missions provided to me.

    It wasn’t until I picked back up this game recently that I realized progress is made 80% of the times by just getting to level 2 in the area.

    Had it been as difficult as I thought it was, I would’ve given this part of the game a very low score, but now I realize the game is essentially just as simple to play as Snap on the 64, albeit a bit longer with more post game content. The game also encourages multiple replays, not only with the missions and post game content, but also understanding the paths Pokemon will usually take as well as the best spots to snap a picture; That much has carried over from 64.

    So yeah, overall I like the gameplay! For a game with a premise as simple as this, I don’t know how I could ask for anything more than what the team provided (Aside from maybe being able to compare pictures and scores with your friends as oppose to randos, hence the near perfect score)

    Story: 6/10
    The story is fairly straightforward, with your character investigating the region to discover a new type of Pokemon and solving the mystery behind their strange power. The story does get a bit compelling towards the end, but I gotta admit, by the time I was done, I did feel like it was all a bit anti-climatic.

    I would have also preferred if we got more real time cutscenes; It seems like the majority of the game’s story is told via stills.

    Difficulty: 1/5 (Very Easy)
    Like I mentioned, this game only requires for your to get a level 2 or light up/take pictures of the flowers to unlock the next area. It’s really simple gameplay overall, with the only difficult part being the slight grind to get to level 2 (Which really only requires 2 play throughs total as long as you’re actively trying to take pictures)

    BOTTOM LINE:
    8/10

    I don’t know if I’d recommend this game as a full price title especially since, despite lasting longer than Snap 64, its still a pretty short game, but you do get quite a bit of enjoyment out of it nonetheless. I had fun taking pictures and sharing them on social media, and I kinda want to print out some of these as stickers someday. Just like the good ol days.

    So yeah, totally check this out! Just again, I’d rather wait until it goes on sale in some capacity.

The Pokémon feel very alive and natural, and sometimes the environment is just amazing on its own. The true game is just to watch the Pokémon, but the photography also feels nice. I got frustrated a few times because I missed the perfect shot, but if you manage to seize the opportunity, it makes you proud.

    The posing and behaviour of the Pokémon is really well executed. You are encouraged to experiment how to influence the Pokémons' pose, and there are some very funny scenes too that I won't spoil. The missions are hard to fulfill, but it wouldn't be fair to treat them as puzzles. They are mere hints for your experiments, and when you finally get to fulfill the requirements, you are rewarded with exciting behaviour.

    There are still a few things I don't like. Throwing / shooting with fruit or Illumination Orbs sucks. Sadly, it is essential to a few levels, including the ones with the Guardian Pokémon (essentially bosses). Progressing the story is a little bit too repetitive, you have to play the same level two or three times before you progress. For the rating, size matters most. You can get a good score if the Pokémon is just big on the photo, and it is hard to get a good score if it's small, but strikes an interesting pose. Considering what the game gets right, those issues are not big, I would still recommend it to every Switch owner who likes laid back games.

    I love the graphics. The game is cute and amusing. It's cool to see these pokemon doing something else then battling. I love it that as you advance you see different behaviour and different pokemon. It's not a 10 for me because it's to slow paced for my taste at sometimes. Redoing the same course over en and over just to level up can become dull at times!

The visuals, not just for the Switch but for a game as a whole, are stunning. The on rails shooter aspect clearly let them manage their resources to help make the world feel more lively and give more dynamic actions to the monsters that we have the pleasure of interacting with. the sound track and ambient noise of the world and the NEO-001 as it moves around are brilliantly executed, and of course the soundtrack is great and at times feels almost cinematic. The worst parts of the game come in the games use of mechanics and story. The game being an on rails shooter takes a good deal of agency away from us as players. So much so that the fact that we cannot do things to encourage evolution like you could in the first game, pushing Charmeleon into the fire pit as an example, feels like a major miss from Nintendo here. Furthermore the story of the game is flimsy at best and I felt like there were constantly two stories that I was working on. One was researching the Pokemon and completing my photodex, for no real payoff, the other was looking for the Guardian Pokemon throughout the game. I would have appreciated the game so much more if a story hadn't been what felt shoved into the faces of us as players, but also if the hints for completing things for the photodex actually worked. The necessary targets that you have to hit, both literally with fruit and 'pester balls' and figuratively with taking specific pictures at specific times are frustrating at best and once completed I felt more of a moment of relief then I did one of pride in completing these harder goals to see rarer pokemon/poses.

    Overall this game is worth every penny and I can only hope that Nintendo adds more content to the game to keep players coming back over time, or at the very least not wait multiple decades between releases next time.

You're left with a few courses where you can see spanning emptiness outside the map and it feels more like a simulation that an environment. Outside of that this game is everything it promised to be. It can often be immersive, especially with the inclusion of online features allowing players to show their individual experiences. After release there was a content update that added two more environments and some extensions and updates to already existing ones. It would be nice to see more content updates in the future and see the game getting supported more, especially with the competitive point system gaining quick popularity. For an immersive step into the Pokémon world, this is about as close as you'll get for now. Expand

There was something magical about seeing Pokemon living in their natural habitats, seeing their ecosystem first hand while just being along for the ride. A thrill and rush every time a new Pokemon appeared, constantly wondering what new surprise may be around the corner.

    New Pokemon Snap captures all that magic and more. The world of Pokemon has never looked prettier than in HD, each area filled to the brim with these adorable creatures everywhere you look. With over 800 Pokemon to chose from, the excitement is never-ending. A Pokemon you didn't expect, maybe even a favorite, popping up in your lens as you look around. Neutral to certain Pokemon before? You may find yourself surprised as seeing them do adorable things quickly turns them into a new favorite. You visit so many different areas to see so many types of Pokemon, and not only is there so much to see, there's even more when you level up each area. And even more when you unlock seeing the same area at night time, which basically makes it an all new location! This constant feeling of progression and replay-ability create a stride that always keeps you going, whether you're looking for a relaxing way to spend the afternoon, or are on a hunt to fill your Photodex, you always have a reason to come back and play more! This game can easily be played for over a hundred hours with new stuff to see every time you play it, and it makes me so happy to still be playing it nearly 2 months later.

    To say this game is the perfect sequel I've waited 2 decades for is an understatement. This game takes an already amazing concept and truly makes it feel "New." A fresh bright adventure in a big region, seeing these amazing creatures do amazing things, being able to interact with them and grow a rapport, and truly feel like you're living in the Pokemon world. I could write more paragraphs about the types of ways you can interact with the Pokemon, the unique areas you can visit, or the thrill of trying to get 4 perfect pictures of each Pokemon to fill your Photodex. But honestly, this is a journey meant to be explored on your own, and I encourage all my friends who love Pokemon to do just that.

The story is pretty good, nothing amazing but the story is far from the focus in this game. There is only one real complaint I have, that being sometimes you'll get a sidequest/request that you completed before you got it and will have to do it again which is annoying. i LOVE how the game gives focus to tons of pokemon, not just popular ones, and even gives the spotlight to pokemon like Meganium. I've found a few of the 3 or 4 star moments a bit frustrating to activate as the process to unlock them can be a little vague or require a series of events that require very precise actions and/or a certain degree of luck. As a succesor this is a 10/10, the originally formula but improved in basically every single aspect (except the evolutions which i missed). Graphics are the best the pokemon series have seen (to be honest, not that hard but ok), gameplay is very much improved to the original snap, lots of different maps, beautiful attention to detail, lots of new pokemon.

    As a brand new game, in 2021 is where this game might be hit or miss: You are tied to on rails, to take screenshots of pokemon, that would be the basic pitch for this game. Of course is more detailed than that but for someone that is absolutely not familiar with the pokemon franchise or a more "chill" take pictures of something game, this is where the recommendation gets hard.

    But where it shines, it does it perfectly: capturing the beautiful diversity of the Pokemon world, their habitats and how they interact. If you are into Pokemon, this is a must if you aren't then this gets a bit harder to recommend specially at $60.

The levels are repayable, you can take 4 unique shots of each pokemon, many of which require some puzzle solving to figure out. The "boss" system of the game is quite fun. No, not every pokemon is in it, but each pokemon is so well fleshed out that it makes the pokemon world come to life. I personally just beat the game, and I fully intent to finish all the extra content. There's a lot of nostalgia here, but I think the game is so improved that I might actually like this game better. Too many people are crying about "this or that" pokemon not being in it, but I have 25 hours into game and still am missing many pokemon. Expand

    Diversos Pokémon (lembre-se que é um spin-off);
    Um dos melhores, senão o melhor gráfico em um jogo da franquia;
    Fator replay altíssimo;
    Sistema online;
    Novas áreas e funções para chamar atenção dos Pokémon e tirar foros variadas.

    O que deixou a desejar:
    Pokémon evoluindo com interações, assim como no original;
    Tutorial muito extenso Interação online poderia ser mais completa, como acessar perfil de amigos, competições de pontuação, etc.

    Ficaria feliz de ver DLCs com novas áreas no futuro! 8.5/10

I never played the OG pokemon snap, I wanted to as a kid but as a responsible adult who has to consider finances and better understands their personal taste... What's the appeal of a few short cinematics?

    Let me tell you, I regret nothing. Pokemon snap's appeal is difficult to understand unless you've experienced it. It's more than just wholsome-but-scripted encountets and photography; but it's hard to put to words what's "more" about it. Maybe it scratcges an itch I didnt know I had for a pokemon world that feels alive.

    One thing I do know, the game plays like a seies of interactive short-films that evolve the more you watch them. And for some reason that's immensely satisfying

    What's more, do not underestimate the empowrering feeling that comes from the "re-snap" feature. Seperate from the photo-editing, this mechanic can take even your most botched photos and give you the tools you need to turn it into something that resembles the work of a professional nature photographer. The renap is very intuitive and allows you to manually perform "touch ups" after the photos are evaluated, but it goes beyond the kind of digital remaster you coukd get IRL, the feature actually lets you revisit the moment the picture was taken and snap a new photo entirely, with much more precision than you got in your first go through. Resnsp can salvage virtuslly any imsge, as long as there was a visible subject within 30 feet of the frame. but why wouldnt there be? there's almost always something going on (whether it be cute strange or outright agressive) no matrter where the camera is pointed. I have spent more time fidling with re-snap than the rest of the game combined. Sure this game is somewhat "niche" and has some limitations, but overall I strongly recomend giving it a try, if you still arent sureif you think it's worth buying, I would suggest you test it out with a borrowed copy, if you can because a milion trailors and reviews could never do this game justice.

    - Good and fitting story (in my opinion the best what you could do in a rail photo shoter game)
    - Interesting Pokemon interactions and animations
    - Some really hard puzzles to get rare pokemon / pokemon animations for special photos

    Neutral:
    - The different ways you can find in the map were good but could have been better, sometimes they were to short or not that special
    - The characters were fitting but could have been brought more into the game (especially the kids)
    - Can get boring if you dont like this typ of game and dont find the pokemon/secret youre looking for

    Cons:
    - Price is a little bit too much, 40-50€ would have been more fitting, for people who love this game and want to discover everything the 60€ feel okay, but fore the standard player who just finishes the story and only plays the post game a little bit its too much
    - No Evolutions, correct me if im wrong but I think there are no evolutions in this game which I find kinda sad because they played a big part in the original game and scenes like where you feed a magikarp and it evolves into gyarados would have been amazing
    - The rating/star system is fine, but the stars could have been made better like being able to pick multiple pictures of the same pokemon with different stars ( for each star picture you can choose one) or something in that direction

    Overall its a good game but not perfect. A lot of the hate I see here is undeserved, theres either people who knew that this game was a rail photo shoter game, yet still bought it and then cry that you cant move freely or people who just rush it and then say that its too short.

    Here you selectyour charcter, youre given a camera to go research pokemon for professor mirror… and the progression is the same as last time, you take as many picture as you can, the best you can, get graded on the pictures.. and once you’ve earned enough experience in an area youll go back to the lab, be given new info to drive the story along and youre back at it.. however this time around areas level up, each time you level up there will be new pokemon for you to find and interact with… as as you progress the story youll be given new items, like these balls to make pokemon and plants glow… andthis ime around, this on rails shooter feels more like going through aworld that’s lived in rathr han a world a bunch of pokemon are just running around in. there are veen day and nights versions of most levels, and even these illumine spots where you take pictures of legendary glowing pokemon… unfortunately though, new pokemon snap, while it is a heaftier and more substantial game, taking me about 10 hours to complete.. it isn’t as magical as the original. Simply because new pokemon snap is just overly complicated… what I loved about the original pokemon snap is its feeling of discovery… you got pictures and found pokemon simply by organically interacting with the world, throwing fruit, playing your flute, something ctaching your eye. Making a voltorb explode to unlock a new area… it felt like pure magic discovering something new.. here in new pokemon snap, everything is overly complicated and too high-tech… its constat axiety of waiting for the scan bubble to pup up, pressing the scan button, scanning whatever object the game wants you to check out, try to quickly read the text and do what you think the ame wants you to do in that moment… even taking new paths requires a scan, rather than again, making a voltorb explode, or make a pokemon explode a rock.. it has its moments of this, but not nearly enough.. which brings me to the pokemon.. im a litte confused on how leveling up areas work, as you only get credit on new pictures that score better than the last picture… so if I get a really good picture of picachu on this level, pickachu doesn’t count towards my score for this new level? So I just ignore older pokemon? To be fair there is a star system here to help combat this as you can get a 1-4 star picture, but that star system disrespect your time as a player.. you could get 3 different star level photos of the same pokemon, but youre only allowed submitting one picture for each pokemon you take a picture of.. even though you have a free space for that star level in your album… its annoying and forces grind a handful of times during the campaign, when youre just trying to unlock the next section… let me go back and get a different star picture of the same pokemon so I can move on… which brings me to the illumina spots.. these are just lame.. 2 out of the 5 are cool. But for the most part its just a stretched out boring slog of trying to hit these giant pokemon with an apple and a glowing ball for 5 minutes, and getting a picture of them glowing, while nothing cool happens around.. easily the weakest aspect of pokemon snap.. but I do like the idea and concept.. we just need a little more heart racing action…
    Overall through /I love bew pokemon snp, despite its world feeling not so magical.. id love a follow up down the line that impliments more organic discovery, and less scan all of these items…
    I give new ppokemon snap

The only let downs for me are music, that is kinda bland, and the fact you can't register a photo per rating (1/2/3/4 stars) of each Pokémon everytime you finish a course, slowing down the progress a lot. I don't know why people are review-bombing it but here's my honest review after 15+ hours of playtime.

    It's amazing. There are a lot of courses with different environments and Pokémon. Like in the original game, you have to use certain tools that you get by advancing in the game, to have the Pokémon strike certain poses or interact with each other. Every level has its own leveling mechanic, which changes the Pokémon and behavior of the Pokémon in it, as you make progress. Some levels also come with a nighttime version of the course or different paths you can chosse to take. While ~200 different Pokémon may feel like a small number in comparison with ~900 Pokémom overall, it's more than enough. Because some of them only appear after you solve a puzzle or progress in the game. And even if you have a full Photodex, there's still many different interactions to photograph to get all four stars of a Pokémon in the dex. To give you an idea how long it takes to finish the dex (not 100% it, just get one picture of every Mon): It took me those 15+ hours playtime and I'm on place 100 in the ranking. That means I was one of the faster people to finish the Photodex, despite the time I took to sleep/cook/work.

    Anyone that claims the game only has 6 hours of playtime has not even come close to finishing it. Now I could mention a lot of the other mechanics like the well-thought-out "bossfights" or the picture-editor but that would blast the lenght of this review even further. The only negative aspect, which I think is worth mentioning, is that there aren't any evolutions you can trigger, like in the first game. However, that's the only thing I'd really complain about. TL;DR: Amazing game, lots of content, easily more than 15 hours of playtime. Great successor and 9/10.

    After two decades of waiting, New Pokemon Snap has proven to be a worthy predecessor to the N64 original. The artstyle and animations are all very well realized. The music is really good. Sometimes the loading screens seem to be a bit janky, and I wish you could keep more pictures. Good game.

    I will stay simple with this one. New Pokemon Snap is a game made for the fans of the old game and Pokemon. It doesn't try to revolutionize and doesn't try to appeal to a completely new audience.
    Like the tittle says: It's a "new" Pokemon Snap. Nothing more nothing less.
    The gameplay more or less is the same as it was before. If you didn't like the old game you also will not like this

    The gameplay more or less is the same as it was before. If you didn't like the old game you also will not like this one. It's a slow and relaxing game. There is no real challenge besides finding (or creating) the perfect opportunity for good pictures.

    However, the game has a much larger scale than the predecessor. There are more Pokemon to find. Each Pokemon can show different behavior patterns divided into 4 categories. And to complete them you need to shot photos for each category. Every stage can level up. Allowing you to find new Pokemon and other behavior patterns. And there is a mission system that asks you to make "special picture". Some of this pictures can be hard to find. As they only give you hints on what to expect. They also improved the visuals a lot. It's looks quite beautiful.

    Overall it's a great game. Not a masterpiece. But it's a perfect sequel to the old game.

    I absolutely LOVE New Pokémon Snap! Though I've always been a huge fan of the original (and I was waiting for a sequel for a long time), I never expected it to be this good. Though I've always been a huge fan of the original (and I was waiting for a sequel for a long time), I never expected it to be this good. My first concern was always going to be the amount of content, but I can tell you: there's a lot of Pokémon and stages to explore! So many in fact, that I think you'll be busy for dozens of hours to see them all.

    Now, as simple as the story and the concept of this game is (you just go through environments to take photo's of Pokémon to get them graded) there's actually a whole lot of complexity in triggering all the behaviors. Never before were Pokémon presented to us with so much detail, and the amount of things they can do is very impressive. And just when you think you've seen everything a Pokémon can do, they do something new and exciting again. The sense of discovery in this game is huge.

    To fill your 'photodex' you'll need to snap each Pokémon in four different poses/moods. These behaviors are ranked from 1-4 stars, and it's a different puzzle to get to each individual star rank of that Pokémon. You can see it as an NPC with four different quests/puzzles to complete. The in game request board also gives you tips on how to unlock the most difficult ones. With over 200 Pokémon, there's hours upon hours of hunting and puzzle solving to do. You won't be starved for content at all.

    Each of the beautifully designed levels is also upgradable. By doing the courses, you earn XP that changes the course. New Pokémon will appear, but you'll also unlock branching paths and 'illumina orbs' for that island/area. The latter can be used to make Pokémon glow, which helps you create beautiful night-time photographs. With more than 20 courses and three skills levels per course to complete, you'll have a lot of ground to cover.

    Look, this game is really not for the min/maxing battle-savvy type player that needs constant action in their games, so judging it by those standards is incredibly unfair. This game is for those of us who enjoy chill and laidback experiences like Animal Crossing and Pikmin. If you are a long time Pokémon fan like I am, and love taking pictures of your favorite monsters in beautiful environments (or just someone who loves a good puzzle) this game is for you. Buy this and you won't regret it.

    I have mixed feeling towards this game. The game is a litte bit repetetive beacuse you need to play one level two times before ot goes to level 2. But the game is one of the most beutiful on the switch. I was just in ahh the first time trough every level. The night mode in some level is very good but it doesen't exist to all the levels

    Gameplay: 8.5/10 - An incredible feeling of discovery as you make your way through the game, this game made me feel like a child again. I haven't enjoyed exploring a world so much since BOTW. Not a 10, because it can be repetitive after the first fifteen hours or so and there are some QoL improvements missing.

    Graphics: 10/10 - Relative to other titles of a similar nature on the market in 2021, I found this game's graphics absolutely enchanting.
    Sound: 5/10 - Nothing special. Competent and occasional good tracks, but generally underwhelming.
    Story: 6.5/10 - It does what it needs to do competently, and there are some nice conceptual touches, but none the less nobody is playing this game for the story.
    Summary: 9/10 - Perfect for kids, fans of the original or pokemon and (amateur) photography enthusiasts. There's also a surprising amount of content compared to the original (not every game needs to be a bloated 80 hour marathon), and not a minute felt wasted.

    The world is immersive and it realy feels like youre spectating a living and breathing world full of your favourite creatures.
    The only downside for me, is, that it only features little over 200 Pokemon, and a lot of Evolution-lines are broken (why is there only the first and third stage for some pokemon?) which leaves a lot of room for DLCs/future releases I'd happily buy

    A faithful, yet modernized sequel to an amazing game. Impressive graphics with vibrant pokemon in a world full of life. Perhaps the best motion controls I've ever experienced in a video game. Charming and clever pokemon interactions that change and evolve as you progress. An enjoyable, relaxing ride that has a little something for everyone.

    The only reason I cant give a perfect score, is the tutorial. It's way too long in New Pokemon Snap. Text box upon text box, when literally all you do is point and press the A button. The game also goes out of it's way to explain to you how photos are scored, when categories like "size" and "centering" and pretty self explanatory.

    Bandai Namco really pulled through with this spin off. The graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is super fun, the music is great and the Pokemon have new cries that more fit them. If you bought the old Pokemon Snap, this one is definitely recommended.

    If you played and enjoyed the original N64 game, you will likely enjoy this game and find it well worth the price of admission. Or if you just want a fun simple game to relax with. Ultimately, I am loving this game. It is helping me relax during the fairly crazy times we live in and I am having fun. To me that is the most important thing in a video game: fun. No, it is not a deep and epic story. No, it is not a genre defining game that changes all Pokemon/photography games to come. It's taking photos of Pokemon. And I am loving what I have played. Far from perfect, but a great sequel and one I recommend! Expand

Encourages exploration and experimentation to find every pokemon and every behavior. Utterly impossible to "complete" this game in "a few hours," unless you're literally just blitzing through courses and focusing on the extremely minimal story, which is not how you should be approaching a game like Pokemon Snap. I've been having a blast. "Only" 200ish Pokemon appear in this game, a common complaint- but it's a drastic improvement over the 50 or so in the original, and a limited roster is to be expected. In a nutshell: as a researcher, you travel to various places, interact with wild Pokémon and take photos to document their behavior. This simple concept only works thanks to the Pokémon, but it doesn’t have to be a drawback, because the game shows the world of pocket monsters more realistically and vividly than any title before it. New Pokémon Snap isn't totally perfect, but it is a lovingly, intelligently updated take on a now 22-year-old original that only came to life because it was imbued with Mr. Iwata's magic. I know seeing this sequel would have made him smile. [Issue #53 – July/August 2021, p. 69]
