Nov 1, 2024Nomada keeps its game tightly focused, leading to a running time of about four hours. But the melancholic exploration of the intertwined emotions of parenthood, death and nature will stay with you for a lot longer.

Oct 16, 2024Neva is a stunningly beautiful game, with jaw-dropping artwork, a heartbreaking yet hopeful narrative, and incredibly creepy enemies that are very satisfying to destroy.
-
Oct 14, 2024Neva is a sublime experience, using a deceptively minimalist approach to tell one of the most heartfelt stories of the generation.

Oct 14, 2024Nomada Studios has truly cemented their place in the indie landscape as a representative of how video games are a strong narrative medium. They do this through beautifully crafted animation, vibrant backgrounds, and a whimsical yet powerful soundtrack. Every element of Neva perfectly encapsulates the immersive experience of the player, from story to gameplay, resulting in Neva standing tall in the face of its predecessor, Gris, as its own masterpiece.

Oct 22, 2024I preferred Neva to Gris, though both games are triumphant and artistic video games that will probably make you cry like a baby. If you’re a lifelong pet owner like myself, Neva has the potential to hit you like a train, but it’s also a universal enough feeling to work for anyone. The combat is a great addition to the video game aspect that definitely filled in a hole for me in the experience. Nomada Studio continues their penchant for making gorgeous games that are packed with emotional resonance. Now that they’ve told game stories about parents and pets, we’ll see how they can make us all cry next.

Oct 16, 2024Neva is a brilliant video game in every sense. It immerses us in an adventure constructed with various types of tension. The story, sustained between mechanics and landscapes, envelops us, pushing movement with naturalness and skill. The sophisticated rhythm the game imposes is based on the danger and pain felt throughout the space. The title is perfectionistic, with each aspect being harmonious. Neva is lucid and filled with nuanced symbols, undoubtedly allowing us to savor the delicacy of pain, growing, staying here, and continuing on.
-
Oct 14, 2024Neva is ideal for those of you who enjoy emotional journeys, those who immerse themselves in small stories that later turn out to be much bigger and deeper than you might think at first. If you liked GRIS, you will love Neva even more.

Oct 14, 2024Neva is a spectacular example of art in motion, delivering a thoroughly engrossing platforming experience that’ll stick in your mind long after you’ve rolled credits. The incredible visuals, moving soundtrack, satisfying gameplay, and surprisingly touching story all come together to make for a game that shouldn’t miss. A few frame drops aside, if you’re looking for a new addition to your library that’ll give you something to savour rather than just consume, look no further than Neva.

Oct 14, 2024Neva offers an emotionally reflective experience that will endure over time, standing out for its balanced mix of platforming, action, and puzzles, combined with a deep narrative and a strong visual impact.

Oct 14, 2024After the sublime Gris, Nomada Studio is back with an action-adventure game that, under its appearance of an ecological fable with a young woman and her wolf, actually has a much heavier message. And we liked the way Neva took us by surprise. The latest baby from the Spanish team also comes back with a superb artistic direction, where the nature full of details contrasts with the “emptiness” of certain passages, marked by a surrealism that echoes Gris… In Neva, Nomada also offers - for the first time - action-adventure phases and does more than well. The demons that Alba must face give rise to gripping action phases, well staged, where a certain tension reigns (without ever falling into an excessive challenge). A very beautiful adventure that we recommend.

Oct 15, 2024I just didn't find it as meaningful or inspired, either in its narrative, however well it links familial relationships to its fantastical nature. Aside from certain remarkable passages such as the "mouths of hell" and its more creative challenges, and beyond its undeniable beauty, I found Neva less stimulating, as if Gris's uncomplicated simplicity would have been a better vehicle for such artistic restlessness.
