    NEKOPARA Volume 3 has a way of making the characters feel like they have been known by the player far longer than may be the case, even if the previous volumes haven't been played. It should carry a content disclaimer saying it is not responsible for any food cravings players may have as a result of playing the game; all the food is portrayed in a realistic and delicious looking way. Reading the previous volumes is recommended to understanding the family dynamics, and despite the lack of options in the story, the replay value is high due to how beautiful the overall tale of striving for dreams is. Maple's story arc shows that with encouragement and support a person can reach for their dreams and bring joy to themselves and others. This uplifting game is a must have for any visual novel enthusiast's game shelf.

    The world has seen better visual novels. We've experienced smarter and deeper narratives, and we've seen games that effectively meld visual novel convention with gameplay elements to push the boundaries of what this genre is capable of. But since it's set in a patisserie, let's use this analogy to explain why Nekopara Vol 3 is so worthwhile: a title like Steins;Gate, Death Mark or Utawarerumono is like having a Kobe wagyu beef steak. It's the most succulent, delicious thing you've ever eaten. Nekopara is like having a crepe, filled with cream and sweet fruits; you're going to be on your death bed saying "I'm so glad I didn't miss out on that in my life," but you're going to enjoy the hell out of eating it anyway.

    There are some heart-warming themes of friendship and scenes of goofy fun that might appeal to someone looking for an optimistic gaming experience, but in many ways these only make the sexual scenes even less pleasant. NEKOPARA is a franchise for a very specific type of person, unfortunately, that’s just not me.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Out of all 3 volumes of Nekopara, I think volume 3 was the best! There wasn't a single moment I didn't enjoy! I surely got a kick out of Cinnamon's sexual jokes, and also when her and Maple, let's just say, had their fun if you know what I mean. Not only were there comical moments in Nekopara Volume 3, there were also some touching ones as well, especially Cinnamon's backstory of when she first came to the Minaduki household. I was also very happy with the ending when Maple and Cinnamon sing their song to Kashou, and while doing so, unintentionally attract a crowd of people who came to listen to them singing their song and they start telling the two just how amazing they thought it was. Overall, this was a great game in every way possible, and I would recommend to anyone looking to play a good game such as this one. You should definitely check it out, especially if you are new to Nekopara and would like to see for yourself what it's like. You will love it!… Expand
