Flash game in 3D. The game is all about mastering your character's controls. But in the same time movement control and aiming are inaccurate. I would recommend to wait for sale.

This game is just for fun . After finishing the game you will forget it . But the only thing that will make you allways thinking abut this game is gameplay ( Gunplay ).

My Friend Pedro is a fun, action packed, shooter that is outright fun. The game requires skill can be hard at the start but as you play through the game it gets easier to lots of cool tricks. The gameplay can get really addicting aswell and will most likely get you play again, again, and again.

A bit overrated but still good. The gameplay is relatively good, however it's relatively repetitive and often cumbersome and when it differs it either differs little or it's done awkwardly (e.g. platforming levels without having such great physics for it).
In overall the game is worth it, a 7/10 at least but it's not fair to other games to give it more since it's relatively simplistic and

tl;dr: very enjoyable if you want some fast 'arcade' fun but don't expect much depth in either gameplay or story or graphics.

Outstanding gameplay. It does get pretty addictive... The overall storyline is simple and short but the game is really all about the tricks and cool stuff you can do. Certainly a John wick game with bananas

My Friend Pedro is a game that puts almost all of its eggs into a single basket - gameplay. It's a good thing then that this basket is a darn near perfect one. Looking at the trailer will probably give you the best idea if it is for you, but even if doesn't seem like it, be on a lookout for high score runs and speedruns on youtube, because those will be as fun to watch as a Deadpool action scene.

My Friend Pedro is essentially a side scrolling shoot ‘em up, one in which players can utilise all manner of special skills such as slowing down or splitting your aim to hit two enemies at once. On normal difficulty it’s not a particularly difficult game, but it is simply great fun, and I played most levels multiple times to try to improve my scores. I’d certainly recommend giving it a go.

Thought I would really enjoy My Friend Pedro but ended up only getting half way through.

    Game(s) like: Max Payne, Superhot

    Pros:
    - Awesome concept

    Cons:
    - Not enough challenge, I was just coasting through levels without much tactics
    - Not enough enemy variety or puzzles

My Friend Pedro has a lot going for it. I have a sweet spot for stylish slow-motion action, and this game is, in a nutshell, all about that. Jump in through a window, shoot an enemy, then make a slow motion somersault as you akimbo machine-gun two more enemies, kick down a fourth enemy as you switch to a shotgun… That kind of stuff.

On paper, that's enough to make a great action game.

Jump in through a window, shoot an enemy, then make a slow motion somersault as you akimbo machine-gun two more enemies, kick down a fourth enemy as you switch to a shotgun… That kind of stuff.

On paper, that's enough to make a great action game. In practice, however, the core dynamics of My Friend Pedro grow thin after a few short levels. The designer seems to know that, and tried to inject something new in every level to provide variety–but the result is that the farther away a level moves from the core gameplay loop, the worse it becomes. Some levels that try especially hard to be very different end up being just very bad, and it's a relief when the game cycles back to what it does best–even though it's pretty much the same thing over and over.

My Friend Pedro also has trouble with its difficulty level. It's so forgiving that it never provides a real challenge in its regular gameplay. It tries to compensate for that by having a DMC-like "style" rating at the end of each level–but the rating feels pretty random, punishing you in some levels, while being way too generous in others. To make things worse, the physics of the game feel hacky, making it harder to pull off stylish moves with consistency.

Oh, and for what it's worth, the story is terrible. It crosses the border from "I don't take myself too seriously" to "I can't come up with a story, so let's just goof around."

All in all, My Friend Pedro isn't a bad game–but it feels like a good idea squandered by sloppy execution. In a year that gave us slick action games such as Katana Zero, My Friend Pedro feels like a wasted opportunity. This designer is one to take an eye on, but this game only shows random flashes of brilliance at its best.

Simplesmente insana.

My Friend Pedro is a gun-fu action game with some platforming that honestly doesn’t live up to what we saw in the trailers. When I bought this game for $15, I thought it would be constant action all the time. The only part when it doesn’t is when your outside or doing bosses. Speaking of bosses, the bosses are so easy once you figure them out. The only boss that could be considered hard is the “final” boss. That's only because they have the same movement as the player, which is way more fleshed out than any of the other enemies. The presentation is nice, and the floating psychic banana always makes funny jokes. This game is like a 7/10 for me. Expand

This game is, by far, one of Devolver Digital's least appreciated games. While we all know Devolver for their classic high-octane pixel gore games (Hotline Miami, Katana Zero, Broforce(?)) and their zanier games (Enter the Gungeon, Fork Parker's Holiday Hike), My Friend Pedro was made by a one-man team, has the best character movement I've seen in a game thus far, and some exciting-assThis game is, by far, one of Devolver Digital's least appreciated games. Combine that with well-detailed environments and little sarcastic comments your enemies make, and you have yourself an incredibly enjoyable game. But did Deadtoast stop there? No, he added into the game the third-best soundtrack (note: good for going on runs with), and mixed up the formula of his original flash game. Some may cry; "But muh replayability!" In that case, the "Code Yellow" update added in game modifiers, that you hunt down and can activate from the main menu, to spice combat up. I've been perfecting the most Devolver-like experience by combining difficulty with speed. Play on Hard, and then play on Bananas. Expand

Seemed fun, but not for me. It made me miss SSX Tricky on PS2, a game where tricks in the air were much more intuitive and enjoyable. Admittedly, I only played this game for an hour, cruising through the first ten levels with C’s, but the game controls to aim were imprecise and my joycon stick is easily pushed in, which inadvertently and repeatedly put the game in slow motion. I was able to tolerate inadvertently crawling in Zelda at times, but this game is no Zelda. Maybe I should invest in a pro controller, or just give the game more time, but ultimately, it’s for sale on eBay. I give it a 7/10 mostly because it seems like a game other people would enjoy more than me, it’s affordable, and although short, I imagine it has significant replayability as trick shots are mastered and higher scores are chased. It's a testament to the strength of Pedro's core premise that you'll likely persevere through design fumbles, odd pacing and wonky writing in search of more bonkers ultraviolent combos and leaderboard glory [Issue#335, p.108]
