Lol to all the hater TROLL zero reviews out there before the game was released from persons who never played this game. Proving MetaCritics User Review system is broken.

I played it. I love it. It's perfect.

I would usually get a game like this for my PS4, but I wanted it handheld as well so I went Switch. The graphics and sound are great, a lot better then I was expecting. The character roaster is great, with customizable costumes. Fight feels good using both the Pro controller and the controls on the side of the Switch. Have not played MK since the arcades, and this feels great. WouldI would usually get a game like this for my PS4, but I wanted it handheld as well so I went Switch. Great game - fluid controls, great graphics, lenghty and quite interesting story. I'll adress those negative coments - You get full game for what you pay. You dont have to pay extra for any of the characters (well there will be more in dlc but thats nothing new in fighting games), story mode is long and there are lots of other content.
Only cosmetic thing are unlockable in krypt which is

Only cosmetic thing are unlockable in krypt which is nothing new in mortal kombat franchiese and only second fatality moves are interesting in this krypt - which also is nothing bad, as I recall, in mk 1-4 you had no list of fatalities, and you had to guess the input keys or get it from game magazines. Unlocking fatalities in krypt became a thing in ps2 era, so also - nothing new so why all the hate?
Other thing - SJW? In mortal kombat? ARE YOU FKIN kidding me - there is no such thing in MK11!!! Or maybe I imagined doing yesterday fatality on Kitana by Baraka in which he tore her face off and eat her brain, or Kano killing Sonya by digging tulip made from bottle into her neck and before she fell to the ground he grabs her hand and start to dance while blood fountain comes straight out of her neck - thats so feminist right? Show this to ANY female and tell her that this game suffers from being feministic crap. Oh You wanted to watch at **** Well then I wont advertise You p0rn hub's but go there instead and after You "finish it" come back to MK to play fighting game.
But yeah, haters gona hate, I bet most of the reviews are from people who havent even played the game - which is a shame because I bet the user score would be similar to the one critics gave.

All of the crap reviews that I am seeing by users is beyond baffling. I have played MK since the first game, and each iteration has been a welcomed change or improvement for me. (Minus MK Mythologies). Yes, I do miss the days of the open 3D fighting world that MK brought us into after MK 4, but I have loved every new version of MK that has came out since 2011. Yes, I do miss the days of the open 3D fighting world that MK brought us into after MK 4, but I have loved every new version of MK that has came out since 2011. That being said I am in love with this new game, the graphics are definitely not as good as the other console versions, but this is a MOBILE GAME. The Switch is running a MOBILE GRAPHICS CHIP. You should know by now what to expect from this console. Educate yourself before you make a purchase! This is 2019, you have the internet, look up freaking screenshots. This is the BEST looking MOBILE fighter I have ever played, all of the features from the other consoles are here, it's amazing. This is literally what I asked for. The game is just as brutal as the other versions but some decrease in fidelity, (which considering how graphic the game is, really isnt a bad thing for me personally.) Honestly the decrease in realistic graphics makes this feel more like i am playing a video game rather than watching real people be brutally murdered. LOL. (Odd point to make I know) If you are a Mortal Kombat fan and you own a Switch and want to play this on the go, get this version!!! It has all of the features as the others, same fatalities and same frame rate...I am in shock over how fluid it plays....Support developers bringing more games to Nintendo Switch, they deserve props for doing such amazing job. BTW, this IS NOT A PORT. IT WAS RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE OTHER CONSOLES, A PORT IS WHEN A GAME THAT HAS BEEN RELEASED IS "PORTED" TO ANOTHER PLATFORM, MONTHS OR YEARS AFTER ITS' INITIAL RELEASE!!! GEEZUS!!!!! I am giving this a 10 to balance out reviews. Although I would rate the Switch version a solid 8.5 a 1 point decrease from my rating for the other versions because, yes, in reality the graphics are lesser in quality when compared to the more powerful consoles, because once again it is a MOBILE GRAPHICS CHIP, (I am still impressed though). a lot of these reviews scream 'picky.' the switch obviously isn't that powerful of a system to begin with, so regardless of how well mk11 is ported it's not gonna LOOK anywhere near on par with the pc/ps4/xbox versions. but looks don't speak for gameplay. you get the same 60fps action that'd you'd get on any other version, along with all of the modes, characters, and skins. if you're likea lot of these reviews scream 'picky.' the switch obviously isn't that powerful of a system to begin with, so regardless of how well mk11 is ported it's not gonna LOOK anywhere near on par with the pc/ps4/xbox versions. but looks don't speak for gameplay. you get the same 60fps action that'd you'd get on any other version, along with all of the modes, characters, and skins. if you're like me and value gameplay over graphics, go pick this up. it's worth it. Good port!

After Doom and Wolfenstein 2 we are getting another good port of an AAA game on Nintendo Switch. Also it's one of the few modern Beat 'em' Ups on Switch beside Smash Bros Ultimate and Dragon Ball FighterZ.

    + 60 FPS
+ Great mix of old and new characters
    + Good visuals

There is a strong single player campaign that gives you a ton of challenges. There is a grind when it comes to the Towers of Time. However, there is an upcoming patch that addresses that and a huge community gift.

Speaking of the Switch port, the gameplay is pretty smooth and solid. The graphics are pared down, but it runs well on the Switch. The Krypt could use some work but overall one of best ports I’ve played.

The downside and the elephant are two fold. There is micro transactions and being leery of them is fair, but you never actually have to spend a dime in the game to get what you want. The other issues is the online connectivity. Which you’d expect with multi-player, but can detract from the single player activities as well. However, I love sitting at a coffee shop doing my own thing, unwinding and working out the stress of a long day by kicking outworld fanny ;)

Bottom line the game is good and the unfair reviews are basely.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed MK11, to be honest. Admittedly, other than Smash Bros, which is a dramatically different styled fighting game, I'm not much for fighting games. In fact, this was my first MK since playing 3 or 4 on the GameBoy Color ages ago. I was worried that this gameplay would be too inaccessible and challenging for me to enjoy, but I was wrong. Indeed, I'm not a competitive MK player by any means. I'd imagine about 90% of my experience with this game was the campaign and 10% was button mashing on the couch with friends. But for those two gameplay aspects for a casual player like me, this game was great. Yes, it was a pain to watch pre-rendered scenes morph into in-game engine on the Switch. I wasn't expecting much in that department, but it was even worse than I imagined. Still, gameplay is a lot of fun and the story mode was surprisingly engaging. I never got much into the customization aspects of this game and did not download the DLC, but honestly, I look forward to repurchasing the Aftermath Kollection on the PS4, mostly just to play through more story mode as well as to try the new DLC fighters. I'm surprised that this game has gotten so many negative user reviews and that it is often available at a dramatically steep discount. However, after perusing the negative reviews here, I see that its a mix of die-hard MK fans that are upset their favorite characters are in the game (understandable), a criticism of excessive microtransctions (I never felt compelled to purchase any, to be honest), and random creeps that are complaining that the game is to progressive/"SJW"? I don't even know where that stems from the gameplay to be honest, other than some of these reviewers probably projecting.
Nevertheless, if you're a casual MK player like me, you'll enjoy this, especially after taking advantage of some of the steep discounts you'll encounter.

I stopped playing after Deadly Alliance and when 11 was announced for the Switch I was kinda excited by the prospect of playing MK anywhere I want. I went ahead and preordered and started playing as purely a skeptic and I have absolutely no regrets. Sure there is the controversial "Jax" ending but you know...who cares. I'm a conservative and the supposed SJW junk is nothing more than a bunch of kids griping about something. Isn't that the way of teenagers/kids in their 20's these days? The Last Jedi...yes, that deserved every ounce of hate it got but not MK 11.... This game is pretty spectacular and the fact that they pulled it off on the Switch is amazing. About my only gripes with this game are the horrendous space it takes up on your sd card, load times, and some stuff is locked to online only. Other than that the experience is awesome. Expand
