Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 isn’t just a collection of faithful ports on new hardware, it’s a mix of some of the best Mega Man games with plenty of love and goodies. The addition of medals is a great way to encourage players to fully explore every title, and X Challenge is fun, if not disorganized at times. For players new to the Mega Man X series, this is where to begin.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection offers four of the finest platformers ever made. They can only be described as timeless classics, especially the first entry which is one of the best platformers period. Newcomers will find this collection a great place to start thanks to the new Rookie Hunter mode, while veterans will appreciate the new challenges and bonus material on offer. If you're someone who gets even the slightest amount of enjoyment from platformers, buy this collection.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection is a collection of excellent games. Veterans will relive some of the best adventures of Mega Man, while newcomers will come to know why this series became so important in the history of this industry. Those are obligatory games to anyone that likes platforming games.

The four games contained in Mega Man X Legacy Collection are arguably some of the strongest in existence. Whilst there's little to differentiate the first three titles, you owe it to yourself to experience them at least once.

With Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1, you’re paying $19.99 for some of the greatest action platformers ever. That in itself justifies the purchase, even if X Challenge is a bit underwhelming. Anyone who has never played Mega Man X should absolutely buy this collection and change that. And for those who have played these games before, it’s probably worth their time and money to play them again.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection is a fantastic re-release of several must-play gaming classics, presenting them as authentically as possible while still including a few modern features on top that help to improve the overall experience and keep it from feeling antiquated. Throw in the new X Challenge mode and an enormous archive of museum content and this stands as the definitive way to play the Mega Man X games in the modern era. Four fantastic games, a bevy of extra content, and the ability to play at home or on the go make this one an easy recommendation.

Capcom may have inflated the value of this collection by making some of these games so hard to come by up until now, but it still earns high marks because of the high-quality emulation for four classic platformers and plethora of extras.

At $20, this is honestly a bargain, especially considering the appeal of the first three titles in particular. In terms of quality, I’d rank them (perhaps unsurprisingly) as such: X, X2, X3, and X4. But they’re all worth experiencing if you’ve never done so before, and with the terrific presentation, true-to-form gameplay, and extensive bonus content, Legacy Collection is certainly the best way to go about it.
  11. Packing four incredible action games from the mid-'90s into one nostalgic package, Mega Man X Legacy Collection might not feature the entire X saga but it's certainly the best of it.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection is a marvelous gathering of four magnificent games of the Mega Man X series, one of the best 2D platform series in the history of gaming. Featuring new gaming modes and plenty of customization options, this is certain to become an immediate hit with the fans which could have been even better if it included all the games of the Mega Man X series, rather than just the first four.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection contains three of the best Mega Man X games ever made. It’s always a pleasure to play them. But we might have enjoyed a bit more content.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection is a competent and interesting collection thanks to the games it contains. Unfortunately, it lacks different emulation characteristics which have appeared in previous games. This fact makes this game worse.

This first Mega Man X compilation might seem a little short on content, but the pleasure to play through Mega Max X1 to 4 might be enough for most gamers of the 90's. With a wide museum gallery and some interesting bonuses, this collection just fail to deliver new strong modes, even though the newcomers will be more than pleased by the Rookie one.

The first four Mega Man X games are fun nostalgia, though it sometimes feels like a case of deja vu.

Greatly drawn stages and enemies, controls of charging / dashing / jumping greatness, a great rock soundtrack, the most epic 2d boss fights. All elements built up to Jump 'n' Shoot perfection!
But be warned: some bosses have punishingly strong attacks, you need immense focus to take them down. Luckily a rookie mode (easy mode) is added, which you can turn on and off anytime.
A lot of galleries with art pieces of the blue bomber's universe complete this explosive package.

There's a load of content in this collection and it is certainly worth the price. You get 32 mavericks, a museum full of goodies and Mega Man history, and a new mode where you take on 2 mavericks at the same time. This collection has a plethora of settings that can change your experience. There's a rookie mode which overall makes the experience easier. The Mega Man X games presented are all amazing and some of the best in the series. Mega Man X 4 is an absolute classic. The soundtracks of these games are awesome. You get pounding rock soundtracks while fighting robotic whales, penguins, and mandrills. In conclusion, this is an amazing legacy collection that has great bang for your buck. Definitely check it out if you're a fun of the Mega Man series or if you are trying to get into it. Have a great day/night, folks! Full Review »

Worth the money, if you are looking to get into the Mega man x series this is the way to do it!
The game comes with a bunch of additional features such as the gallery and music (OST) which are really enjoyable for hardcore fans. Also a rookie hunter mode which really helps out people new to the series or assists you when getting through very difficult situations or bosses.
X1 - fantastic game to start off the series, did have some difficulty with the platforming on the Xbox controller. 8/10
X2 - better than the first game with more fun bosses and stages, music was however better in the first one 9/10
X3 - the most difficult out of the three but still a lot of fun, rookie mode was really helpful. I would say that the platforming was very difficult if not broken towards the last stages 7/10
X4 - easily my favorite out of the bunch, giving the option to play the story through either Zero or X easily a 9.5/10
Overall worth the purchase, much better than buying each game individually! 9/10
