Jan 10, 2018A pleasantly challenging platformer with adorable charm and an entertaining story. It’s a good step for younger gamers to take who might start to feel a bit old for Mario and want a challenge.

Jan 8, 2018Max: The Curse of Brotherhood brings back this creative and interesting platformer full of puzzles for its premiere in the Nintendo Switch. While this edition brings nothing different compared to the original, those who haven't had the chance to play it earlier will find a captivating, varied and fun game that will keep the players around their consoles.

Jan 5, 2018Those who previously complained about the title's lack of touch screen will be thoroughly satisfied this time around. Mind you, if you've played it already, there's not that much point grabbing it again. Despite the fact Max: The Curse of Brotherhood isn't a fantastic game, it is a great platformer/puzzler which does shine up nicely on the Switch.

Dec 28, 2017Clocking in around 10 hours, with a lot of life squeezed from the magic marker mechanic, Max’s hunt to save his brother is an adventure worth taking. Just don’t put it ahead of other platforming adventures like SteamWorld Dig 2, Sonic Mania, and so forth.
-
Jan 26, 2018Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is a solid puzzle game with some platforming elements, even if it isn't a particularly great platformer on its own. If you can look past the occasionally clunky controls and its inherent frustrations, you're in for a treat with the great level design.
-
Jan 9, 2018A great game with problems in its control as well as in its graphic engine.
-
Dec 26, 2017As a platform game, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood doesn't present a huge innovation to the players. But the Nintendo Switch version of the game makes the game more playable.

Feb 26, 2021Max is a wonderful and hilariously funny platformer. It has some places that could have benefitted from more polish, but they are few and far between.
