    Pros:
    - Lots of Marvel characters to choose
    - Synergy combos are fun
    - Lots of challenges to upgrade the characters after the story.

    Neutral:
    - The story is not so great but it's not bad either

    Cons:
    - ISO8 stones management is very confuse
    - Camera is bad

It's ok. Gets repetitive and tedious pretty quickly. The leveling/upgrade system is needlessly complicated. The gameplay is simple, but never feels satisfying. You never learn new abilities. Your attack/defense stats just go up via grinding. There aren't any wow moments. There aren't impressive looking combos/synergy attacks.

However, there were very few moments where I felt I had really learned something and got better at gameplay, which was lacking. You’re mostly using staggering moves followed by powerful attack moves on bosses, room clearing moves on others, and synergizing your attacks as much as possible with your teammates. Disappointingly, you have to constantly change characters during the fight because computer controlled players don’t use their special attacks often. Defense is mostly absent, and I very rarely had to learn a boss’s attack and developed any kind of strategy. So, it’s mostly button mashing mayhem. When I switch characters I often lose track of where my guy is on the screen and the camera is unreliable. Players abilities are grinded up in exercises outside the main story, which is tedious and your best off sticking with the same group as much as possible to level up quickly and get through the story. I ended up leaving some heroes behind without hardly touching them and sticking to just a handful of guys. Hulk, Spider-Man, iron man, captain America, venom, miss marvel and more all left behind. Storm and black panther, who aren’t favorites of mine, fit well with my group and were leveled up additions half way through, so they got more play than I had anticipated. That said, I did have some(not many) battles I lost, but always won on the second if not third try which kept the story going. The moves for some players I used were fun, as well, (hello Thor, Starlord, Ghost Rider) and I’m sure there were more I missed out on. My team at the end was Storm, BP, Deadpool, and Wolverine. They were able to do the job even on the harder difficulty and slightly below the recommended leveling. I would recommend this game, despite its misses in gameplay, to marvel movie fans and button mashers, both of which I am. Heck, maybe even families and friends could enjoy some button mashing mayhem together. 7.5/10 Expand

Pure fun. Play as a large roster of heroes with surprising sophisticated systems of leveling. There is a lot of button mashing with synergy attacks but you really feel as powerful as the super hero team. Plot and character fights are enjoyable and it does a good job keeping it varied.

The story is nothing to write home about and the game itself plays like a decent enough brawler, but you'll quickly find a lot of characters re-use similar special abilities but with different skins: this is done for the games synergy system I suspect but given other characters in the DLC display unique abilities, I suspect time constraints or laziness. If anything, I want this game to succeed so that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 4 can do away with all these issues and be a master piece. Expand

I tossed down the controller and tried to let him finish me off. Instead, Wolverine’s health regenerated faster than he could chip away at it. I couldn’t die, but it would have taken an hour to win the fight. Even though I beat Sandman on the first try, I had the same feeling. Go shoot him with a gun for ten minutes (where you can’t dodge his attacks so he just knocks you away constantly), then hit him for four seconds while he stunned, and then back to ten minutes of shooting the gun. Wash, rinse, and repeat about a dozen times. Snore. I never imaged Team Ninja would design such a dog **** combat system, but I guess everybody just phones in their work when they know Marvel fans are just going to buy anything with the logo on it (myself included, in this case, sadly). Marvel needs to get their **** together with video games, because they’ve dumped a ton of money on well-markets garbage heaps. Very disappointed. Expand

For one, the camera can be your worst enemy some of the time, and can get really annoying in local multiplayer. Two, while the story is nothing superb but also not terrible, the amount of dialogue and replay value are a letdown compared with the original. I remember in the original how you could unlock Dr. Doom as a playable character and if you took him to the final boss fight, there was this conversation that was amazing where enemy Dr. Doom accused his doppleganger for working with the heroes. Moments like that are just not in this 3rd entry, and while the added DLC's with more characters and costumes are welcome, still doesn't feel quite enough considering how long it's been since the first game showed that kind os stuff. Fun game still, and much better that Square´s "live service" but I wish that they put just a little bit more effort in a fututer MUA 4 and really give us one for the ages. Fun button masher in the Marvel universe that can quickly feel like a forced grind just to progress. Checkpoints in the campaign are frequent and rifts are short enough to allow you to play on the go. The roster is huge and diverse but levelling a number of characters for end game content will require quite a time investment.

The story plays like a badly written Infinity War fanfic, the ISO menu will totally drain your enthusiasm to progress your gems as it is genuinely a clusterf*** to navigate with unnoticeable effect on gameplay buffs. If you enjoy alternate costumes you are out of luck for anything added in the base game as its all just pallet swaps.

Some boss battles will have you fighting for ages before you realise you are meant to lose anyway, artificially prolong what little gameplay there actually is. The camera is the hardest boss you'll fight in the game as it likes to angle itself in corners so you can't see wtf is happening to your heroes.

Basic enemies will stun lock you while your attacks do nothing. I've seen a tissue box do more damage than the punches thrown by the avengers in this game.

The DLC has made me feel like i've wasted my money. with each DLC just being rehashed content of what was originally there. Call it "Danger Room" call it "Gauntlet" call it "Infinity Rift" it is all the exact same thing and it's near criminal for the asking price. No new story, just more boss rushes with a new coat of paint.

The effort gone into this game is laughable and just feels like a ported mobile game. Just because it's Marvel doesn't mean it gets a free pass.

Don't know if Disney had a female character quota they needed to hit in this game but it seems they shoved a female heroes into scenarios where they really shouldn't be in, in order to check off a box at each level.

I bought the switch last week and bought a ton of games, this one included. Despite researching the game and knowing how mediocre it was, I went forward because i loved the art direction for the characters. But I should have listened this time, this game is just terrible and there are so many worth while games on switch now that you don't need to waste your time with this one

Honestly i hope they re-use the character models and create a Marvel turn based RPG or a Strategy RPG. That way they can give the gameplay some depth.

Did Ultimate Alliance 3 satisfy that craving? Well...yes and no. It had an enjoyable story that I felt did justice to the characters. Also worth praising is the extensive roster of characters. There are quite a number of fan favorites here including the X-men. After the X-men were given the cold shoulder in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, it was indeed nice having them back in the mix.

The locales in the game felt ripped right from the comics. Some of the alternate outfits took a while to come.

So what happens after you finish the story? Well your left to farm the infinity trials and sadly these can begin to feel repetitive after a while. Leveling characters can feel tedious and like a chore.

Playing online with some friends is the better way to play of course but this is sadly marred by a unstable framerate and latency issues.

Then the season pass was announced. More characters from the X-men and Fantastic Four. As well as Marvel Knights including Morbius, Blade, Punisher and Moon Knight. Sadly the story content is not as robust or as extensive as I had hoped. So you are yet again using these new characters to do content you have already experienced.

I really wish that Ultimate Alliance 3 had taken a few lessons from Diablo or Marvel Heroes. I wish that each character had multiple builds with different talent trees to invest skill points in rather than the fairly limited ones we got. Some inclusion of dungeons/raids, gear akin to Diablo 3's adventure mode would have helped too I think. I look at Marvel heroes' midtown madness and raids and how much fun they were and feel like they would have added a lot of variety to Ultimate Alliance 3.

I still enjoy the game and even look forward to the Fantastic Four and DOOM. But I do think there are some things that could be improved should there be an Ultimate Alliance 4.

All the bosses are same, they don’t have any unique pattern that require you to come up with a new strategy each time you face them, it’s just boring button smashing all the time. Another problem is the graphics. I mean this game costs $90 CAD here including tax and we all saw switch can run games like Witcher 3, Doom, Alien Isolation so I don’t know what caused developers to make this game look like a mobile game. I would give this game 6/10 if it costed around 15-20 CAD but for 90 CAD it deserves 2/10 max. and that’s because it has decent cutscenes, even though the game shows you different characters in each cutscene, not the characters you picked which ruins the immersion. Overall this game provided a lot of enjoyment and fantastic humor value, but aside from seeing a lot of neat team ups and the conversations that follow, I can't say this game did a lot of things too spectacular for me. Gameplay is your basic Diablo roguelike but also based on a level system where it becomes difficult to near impossible to keep every character matched with one another, essentially meaning you have to keep the same party the entire game or constantly switch to every new member that joins (or both). Assembling a team of favorites can also be difficult as many characters are locked behind side battles called Rifts, which are usually very difficult and require you to have high leveled characters to attempt. To make things worse, character progression is split into 3 separate menus, so leveling up your character's moves and stats becomes extremely convoluted. Some boss battles are fun, while others can take upwards of 20 minutes just doing the same thing on repeat. If I didn't have a partner to play with, which honestly added to the enjoyment factor for me, I might not have seen this game through to the end. That said, all my griping aside this is a fun multiplayer game, so if you have a player 2 it's a fun journey to go on with cool cutscenes and some fun battles. Just know going in this isn't a game with a lot of replay value, and even less motivating for completionists. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you want to play a game where every major character from every Marvel movie you've seen makes an appearance and basically replaying the entire plotline of the endgame movie then this is the game for you. The build up has you going to each of the movie universes and meeting the movie characters The story sticks so close to the theme of the movies that there is no original thought whatsoever. The plot itself is so full of holes as to be borderline stupid. Take for example the end battles where you are fighting enemies who hold the stones. You have some too but unlike the evil guys you evidently can't use them. Why not? I have no idea other than a convenient combat choice.

The combat itself is a far cry from the original MUA games and, honestly, an insult. The difficult bounces around every battle. Some battles you'd wade through no problem other battles you die many, many times. Why? Convenient combat choice or bad balancing. You decide. Every boss battle is basically the same gimmick with different assets but the difficult is all over the place. Team Ninja doesn't know how to balance a Marvel game and hopefully will never again try. This is just plain bad and should have never gotten through whatever QA they had. This has nothing to do with the characters you pick, the power combos you use or anything else. This is just bosses with attacks that take away 1/3 of your health per hit irrelevant of what level you're at, spawn minions who decimate you in seconds and take almost no damage from any attacks you have. On countless occasions our "extreme" attacks were 150K+ and it barely scratched the bosses health. Boss battles are just really boring combat sequences that drag on and on.

The camera controls are downright atrocious. Normally I'd say this is because of differences in platforms but this game only came out for the Switch so how can it not work. Countless occasions in the middle of battle my character was offscreen and I couldn't get them back onscreen while my partner was attacking someone. The camera also bounces all over the place while fighting. Countless occasions I'm trying to throw something and the camera changes distance or focus as I start to throw causing a miss.

This game is a Marvel movie brawler with no real meat, horrible combat mechanics, bullet sponge bosses, overly complex RPG elements that serve no useful purpose and difficulty spikes that are unacceptable in modern games. I would rather go back and play the remastered originals with their bad graphics and bugs then see this game be given a sequel. The only plus side to this game is that my son and I were able to play it together as we have the previous 2 games.

By the time I read that "The Black Order" was added to the title and learned this was going to be centered around Thanos finding the infinity stones I was officially worried, and unfortunately those fears were founded. I want to start off by saying that I was a big fan of the first two entries of Ultimate Alliance, but I will try not to mention them too much as this is just a review of this game and not a comparison. So one of the main issues I had with this game from the moment I started it was its character designs, it's offsetting seeing character models which are clearly based off of the design from the movie standing next to character models based off the comics design. I understand that marvel products now have to appeal to fans of both the comics and the movies (I think that it's now safe to say that those are two different camps) but splitting the designs in half isn't the way to do it. Additionally the roaster feels weak, while in the first two installments there were characters from all over the franchise and several that no one but the most avid of comic readers would have heard of before, making the roaster all the more interesting. in this game unfortunately it feels like a list of the most popular characters from the movies and recent comics which just makes it feel weak and uninspired. Game play feels like a mindless beat-em-up, which is a good thing, but while the previous two installments allowed for a descent amount of customization of characters to adjust their play style and stats, this one only give each character four moves allowing you to pick out which move you want to level up and even more disappointing is the costumes. After working on a single character mission to earn a new costume I was left disappointed to find that it was just a pallet swap with no benefits. To sum this all up, this is a good portable game to play if you're board or just looking for something mindless to do to waste time, but Expand

Our beloved IP has now landed in the hands of Team Ninja, a Japanese studio famous for their fighting game franchise: Dead Or Alive.

Have they done Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1, justice?

Gods no, this spin-off is trash in comparison. They've removed every single RPG element and aspect that made MUA 1 so legendary and have replaced it with linear progression, sub-par, absolute basic build options, a gimmicky objective based tournament-esque gamemode (Infinity Rifts) that are more of a chore to complete than an end-game (Ha! What end-game?) activity and my Gods, the combat.

Welcome to the worst combat MUA has ever seen. They've torn off the melee combo badge of honor and replaced it with a tedious Japanese-esque ARPG combat animation of "Punch, Kick, I'mma pull out my gun", which has inadvertently led to the abandonment of support skills and extra skills to be mixed and matched with each other. We get flashy melee without the sweeps, stuns and aerials, and boring skills that are the same garbage, carbon copied onto every other hero of their same type in the roster (Daredevil and Wolverine's "Tap the same boring button with the exact same animation to unleash our mediocrity skill" skill, for example).

They couldn't have made it so much more innovative by providing us with a whole host of original, expertly animated suite of skills to add and remove at our leisure? No builds? I'm fed up with this. Team Ninja don't deserve the Marvel Ultimate Alliance IP. There's no love invested in this game, no Marvel fans creating a game for Marvel fans.

    We lack:

    Lore trivia
    Side quests
Simulation discs for even more lore
    Silver Surfer
    Hubs for chills and recuperation
    Dialog options
    Victor Von Doom
    Hero Gear
Literally everything that makes MUA 1 a God amongst ARPGs (it does have its flaws, I can't suck its peen all day, tbh)

We get mediocrity. More than 10 years we've been waiting, to be able to play as Frank Castle. What did we receive? Knife knife shotgun. His heavy is a fully automatic pistol, a burst-shot rifle and an underbarrel grenade launcher.

Again, to return to an earlier point: basic melee exists to be functional, SKILLS exist to be FLASHY.

Frank didn't deserve this. They slaughtered our boy

0/10. For any MUA fan, this is an absolute travesty. It has actually taken the place of MUA 2 as worst UA game ever made. For Marvel fans in general? You get a large roster at least.

Also, Team Ninja never respond to tweets (regardless of whether you use Japanese or English). Very poor effort on their Social Media team.

Fun filled action game. Love the ability to switch your characters on the fly enabling to keep the experience interesting.
Leveling up characters is relatively simple to do, but unless you use a character regular some get left way behind and are then not strong enough for later stages of the game.
Simple controls to get to grips with and chaotic mash up of explosive action!

A Marvel beat-em-up is always a fun game to play, either alone or with friends. This one has a nice roster of heroes, some cool, memorable moments and offers very simple gameplay mechanics. The graphics, sound and effects are well done (apart from the occasional camera hiccup) and, overall, it's a pretty decent game for any switch owner.

That being said, I think MUA3 is a pretty boring game... everything gets old, very fast. Half way through the game I just wanted to clear it and se the end of the story. It's very repetitive and basically you fight through endless corridors of enemies with a boss at the end. The settings change a little, but you have a feeling that you are never doing anything new.

It's a fun game. Good, not great.

    1. TERRIBLE camera

    2. Linear progression.. Xmen legends had items, stat raising, unlockable effects and passives within abilities.. What does this game have? Nothing of that sort.. You have 4 basic abilities and you just upgrade them to do more damage or cost less MP. There's also the ISO system which gives you pointless and unimpactful buffs to your characters (2% more resilience, 4% more attack, etc)

    3. Boring and rehashed abilities. There are 5 types of spells in the game that are shared across every character with just different particles. It's either a charge attack, a long projectile, a rapid slashing move or an AoE. There's literally no creativity here.

    4. Combat is very reliant on synergy moves that are impossible to pull off most of the time, either due to lack of visibility on screen or just the very small time window that it gives you to perform it. Elite enemies and bosses require heavy use of that mechanic and it basically ruins the flow and overall enjoyment.

I can keep going about stuff like the garbage aiming mechanic, the fps drops and brainless team A.I. but I'll just stop here. This is not a 60$ game and I wouldn't even suggest people to buy at half price. It hurts to see an amazing RPG like X-men legends been downgraded into a button mashing mobile game.

As an average marvel fan, I really liked this game! The cutscenes alone made this game worth it. Seeing the marvel heroes interact with each other in different worlds is amazing. The gameplay can get a little repetitive, but the more than 30 heroes make up for that. The story is about 10 hours long with a lot of post game content in the form of special missions.

Overall, I would say that this is a good game, not without a few teething issues early on with some bugs that could have been ironed out pre release (developers have their deadlines right), but nevertheless a great smash-em-up game.

The future of this game depends entirely on the developers next move regarding the introduction of DLC, new modes and new playable characters, to whether this game makes in into the amazing game it could be. Things I would like to see added: - NEW END GAME: whether it be endless mode, raid bosses, character prestige - you name it. The end game currently is minimal apart from grinding every character to lvl. 100 and seeking the best rainbow ISO8s. Give players some real grind to get into.

    - NEW CHARACTERS: some are already planned I know but still.. get that roster growing (you have the licensing!)

    - INSANE DIFFICULTY: just do it. - CLEAN UP THE MENU: especially ISO8 and character selection/character inventory. (On that note: cleaning up ISO8 is so boring and time consuming, maybe a select all option?!)

    - COMMUNICATION: being switch exclusive, this already makes this game hard to bring out into the world, opening up voice chat would be a great way to bond the community that play this great game together. This game is calling out for expansion after a rocky but fun start and the ball is now in the developers court. However, overall, I would recommend buying this game, lots of nostalgic boss-beating for your buck!

I have played all the MUA games. MUA1 Gold is still the best under X-Men Legends 2 that still holds the title as the best in this series but this game blows away X-Men Legends 1 and MUA 2.

    Explain Yourself!

The things that would have made this better than MUA1 Gold Edition:
-If they kept the dialog tree options from the previous games
    -NPC interactions
-Actual Alternative Skins (Second, Third and Fourth Skin Options)
    -Comic Book Missions
-Solo Play, Duo or Tri hero play (Not just a full squad of 4)
-Ability to Grab enemy types and random objects on the map.
-Maps Feel Less Full, more stream line.

If the game had 1/2 of what I listed above it would have made it a 9/10. Even with all of it still would be about a 9.7

So your telling me its better than MUA2?

    -Yes

    Why?

-Personally I love the art style over MUA2 Civil War Comic Series
-The Combat is Faster and more Fluid
-The team up combos do not slow the pace of the game or feel like its on rails although it looked cooler in MUA2 it just felt so clunky
-The Hero Selection, don't get me wrong but this game has a better variety of heroes even though I would like to see some of the heroes that were exclusive to MUA2 maybe have a MUA2 hero DLC pack for MUA3

    Overall.

If you are a fan of Marvel in both Comics and Cinematic Universes you would enjoy yourself if you liked games from Pre 2008 era of gaming. It has that feel of just "fun" it has nothing that tries to get your attention or loading screens telling you if you buy this you will do better. It feels whole. Even though the Day 1 update had a DLC button added to the main menu....

But it has DLC? The main menu has a DLC button.

Yes, but for $20 bucks you get.
(4 Heroes Per Pack, Plus a Story Mission Plus Hero Skins Actual Alt Costumes)
12 Heroes Plus new Story Content and Possible Free heroes along the way.

Any other company would charge $20 per pack. Colossus and Cyclops are also coming to this game as well as a Free Update. Even those two could have been $10-15 each. Looking at you Marvel Heroes 2013-2018 RIP.

Basing this on just the game alone Its a solid beat e'm up if you are a fan of that style game with light RPG elements. If you are looking into something deep like a Marvel Heroes MMO alternative you will not find it here, but if you can look past all the things that is missing from the previous games MUA1 Gold still holds the ground as being the best in the series but MUA3 is a great edition and with upcoming DLC and updates through 2020 this could come close but better off waiting for MUA4 or XML3 if that is more your cup of tea. Nintendo will hold the licence for a while if they continue to sell well but eventually I can see this game being ported to PC and other platforms especially with how close Microsoft and Nintendo have come in the past few years. I also want to make note if you are the type of person who does not like Diablo style grind this game might be "hard for you to get into" since there are moments in the game that will challenge you unless you play through the easy difficulty I recommend playing on the hardest difficulty to have the most rewarding experience.

NOTE: These numbers don't mean anything just to give you a since of scale from 1 being horrible and 10 being awesome.

    Music 9 out of 10
Sound Effects 7 out of 10
Voice Work 9 out of 10

    Game-play 9 out of 10
    Combat 10 out of 10
Reputability 6 out of 10 RPG Mechanics 2 out of 10 Story 8 out of 10 Hours/Value 8 out of 10 My name is Abraham1 and I recommend this game at full price. Giving it a 8.7 out of 10

Crafting 7.5/10: Seems tedious, boring, and a little complex but I have to explore it more. It upgrades hero stats.

Story 9.5/10: So far I am enjoying it more than MH's story. It's at a good pace, infinity gems, thanos and the black order as the main story. It starts off very good with the raft, hand, and sentinels, dark dimension. The blend is well done.

Camera angle 8/10: I have it set to hero. it focuses on the hero you have currently selected. I don't like the classic camera angle at all. Regardless, with so many heroes on the screen and a lot going on, I have difficulty focusing on the one I have selected. It seems too zoomed out.

Voice acting 8/10. Voice acting is great (especially spiderman and Tony) but I wish there were more interactions/lines like MH. When you speak to NPCs, you reply silently (like some nintendo games do). Pretty lame.

Difficulty 6/10: Some bosses are so hard. Maybe there is something I'm doing wrong. I hate that "shield" bar bosses have. It sucks. Once I stun them, I am not blowing enough crits. So taking down a boss takes a long ass time.

Overall, I strongly feel it's a worthy SUBSTITUTE (NOT successor) to MH. There are no items, there isn't a "Midtown" zone (I wish there was!). If MUA 3 included loot and boss loot like a typical ARPG game then it would definitely be a worthy successor. The only loot in this game are ISO 8s or whatever, orbs for health and the meter for skills.

I give it a score of 8/10. Definitely great casual fun.

The camera is never where you want it to be, it's zoomed out WAAAAYYYY to far and it's only controllable by the player, sometimes. I'm playing on a 70" TV and I can't see my character so forget about playing on the switch itself.

There is an alliance enhancement system in the game that you can use to upgrade your team throughout the game. Well that doesn't actually so anything, it's just a thing you do that has no actual effect on your team. I forgot this was a system in the game and had never speced any points until I was more than half way through the game. I specced out 3 entire hexes and it changed nothing. I did the same damage, enemies died just as slowly. The only redeeming factor is that you get to play as so many iconic Marvel characters. Just save your money or pick it up for a massive discount.

Metacritic needs to adopt verified reviews like Rotten Tomatoes. This thing is getting review-bombed by non Switch owners angry that its a Nintendo exclusive. This game is great. An old fashioned beat em up of non stop fun. If there's anything that could be considered bad about the game is that it feels like its a game fit for 10 years ago. Maybe even further back.

This game is very fun to play. The characters are great to play as, the different locations are very cool and nice call backs to various comics. The thing that ruins this game is the camera. The camera is a bit of a mess in the game and there are sometimes were there’s too much action going on to the point we’re I can’t see my character I choose. Overall, this is a fun title single or… E

It's a straightforward and enjoyable game, but the gameplay loop could be more satisfying, and level balancing is in need of massive improvement, with issues pertaining to not sticking too closely to one core team for leveling due to only party members receiving any sum of experience, as well as leveling involving dropping in and out of co-op leading to disparities: when playing co-op with a friend, all players retain story progress, but only the host's party receiving shared XP, while guests only retain XP for whatever hero they're playing. This means that if four separate players are playing together, each player is only leveling one of their characters, leaving them dangerously underleveled if they try to continue their story progress solo.

The roster is respectable but lacks some of the more unique picks of previous X-Men Legends and MUA games, with the vast bulk of characters being core MCU, Spider-Verse or core X-Men (which a few omissions, two of which will be added in as free DLC at a later date). Throughout the span of the 12-15 hr. campaign (20 hrs. at the most if you're being lax enough with it), characters unlock in small bursts pertaining to the story, as opposed to the first Ultimate Alliance where the majority of the roster is unlocked from the outset and only a small amount of side characters pertaining to the story require unlocking, so unfortunately between this and a lack of straightforward practice options, the game doesn't give much room for experimentation, and its stagger system unfortunately leaves it prone to relying too heavily on damage sponge enforcer enemies as a substitute for unique special enemies to test out strategies on.

It seems like I'm being overly critical of the game, but these are issues that I do feel requires some addressing. That said, while it may be the weakest game of the franchise - even more so than MUA2 - it's still Ultimate Alliance at its core, Gauntlet-likes represent a subset of gaming that has been massively under-represented even as far back as the last Ultimate Alliance title, and as always, co-op is tremendously fun with friends, especially locally, although camera issues make it far more enjoyable with multiple copies for players. While the game is your standard superhero popcorn fare, it's charming in a way that will surely resound with fans of Marvel multimedia, and it does have a few less-obvious characters to represent like Ms. Marvel, Crystal, and Elsa Bloodstone, For those on the fence, it might be worth a simple rental or waiting for a deep sale, but even for people on the fence, if you can find a good deal, it's a good game that's easily worth checking out. It's not a perfect game, or a pinnacle of what it's trying to do, but it's not a bad game, and it's serviceable, but it's hardly 'just' serviceable: it's flawed, but fun.

I could go into more details but I am no reviewer, I will let my (estimated) 25hours played since Friday speak for my self, it might not say much for people with tons of free time but for a 30year old married guy believe me it says a lot on how I am loving the game and on how few hours of sleep I had over the weekend!

Loved both of the previous installations, and this one is terrible. Great character selection...to go into dumb laser timing puzzles, paper enemies to kill with no character individuality of your own, broken up by boss battles that cheese your party to death and bring your game progress to a halt. Waste of money.

As a whole, Ultimate Alliance 3 is an immensely enjoyable game that really reminded me how much I love Marvel’s wealth of characters. The roster is huge, the combat is gratifying, and it all looks slick running on Switch either docked or in handheld mode. There are some blemishes in terms of player progression, a bland soundtrack, and the unwieldy camera, but it’s nothing that should stop anyone from going out and giving Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order a download.
