Lack of content with 100 mini games, 53 of which are Top 100, if Super Mario Party had the same big flaw, it prevailed with originality and varied game modes, which is not the case here since they are absent. 5 trays of annoyance 64 is clearly not much. Superstars, in the end just uses the Top 100 formula and SuperUnfortunately, this second best of Nd Cube is hardly better than the first.     Mario Party Superstars has Coconut Conk!!! Instant 10/10 No but really thsi game is the best Mario Party since 8. Its a must buy to me.

The controlls of some of the minigames is terrible, the "Lucky Fields" are far too much and Bowser seems lot to weak for my opinion. Most of the times he only stoles 10 coins, but you get on every lucky field between 7 and 25 coins, so the costs of the star are most ofMario Party Superstars will step into the footsteps of the origins of Mario Party, but sadly it maked to many failures.     What a great throwback. One of the best Mario party games to date. This is not of these one and done games like WarioWare: Get it Together! I will be playing this for the foreseeable future, this and both Pokemon titles.

    This game is good but not perfect like other reviews are giving out. I have eagerly been following since June as I’m big fan of original three MP’s and hated the last one (actually probably all from wii on but never played them). It’s good to see them do a “remaster best of” sort of thing and it all generally works with something’s holding it back from true greatness. Why could you not add one more and make it 2 from every original MP but no, MP3 is shorted one. You see, in the original MP games there was always an unlockable 6th board. Even in instruction manuals it wouldn’t show you so here we all are thinking how cool of a throwback that will be but no, there is no unlockable board. What a huge disappointment and COMPLETE missed chance to throw in some more nostalgia nods. So yeah, there absolutely needed to be at least 6 boards how or why they decided this is baffling. But I’m taking off one full point right there for that non-sense. There economy isn’t also slightly broken. Not game breaking just annoying. While stars are back to 20 and golden pipe is 25, there’s still some other problems in which items are too cheap. Why is chomp whistle 7 coins? To move a star location upon your choosing should cost at least 15 maybe even 20. Skeleton key 3 coins? At least 5. Everything should cost more. Battle mini games should cost more. Playing a 7coin battle is very not threatening at all. It should be 10 min in be grinning and go 10, 20, 30 and 50 with values increasing towards the end game as in the original. Boo should cost coins to steal coins as well. There’s a few other examples like this you wonder sprinkled throughout as well Lucky spaces are overall not a welcome addition. This plays into last point of economy. There are an abundance of these spaces which are constantly landed on and constantly handing out an abundance of coins and items. This would have been perfect if there were FAR LESS. As in maybe 2 or 3 on the whole board. What the f*** were these guys thinking calling this lucky and throw so many in that everyone lands on them. That’s the opposite of luck when there’s high chance of landing on one. This has ruined my favorite map, horror land, as there as far too many on it. Me and many others were nervous watching pre release footage and unfortunately it turned out to be true; there’s far too many of those to land on. Lastly, there is no way for 2 people (co-op) via one console to jump online with random people. This is also mind blowing and one of the biggest disappointments for me. I had my brother over to play and showed clip of online mode, jumping into the pipe and going straight at it with randoms. So you think he’d be able to pick up controllers and jump into right? Wrong. There is no way to do that. You can in Mario kart and smash,right? A nice sexy option that says one or two online? Yeah let’s throw that nice option out the window here. You can make a room with two people but then you have to send out codes and all that bs. I just want to quickly join match with two people from same console and play online like you can on single player. All of these negatives hold this game back from being truly great but it’s still good. My hope is there is patch/dlc later that can address these issues. Problem is it’s not in the base game. So releasing a Mario party celebrating the first 3 with 5 maps is dumb, lucky spaces need far less, online needs local co-op random matches online and slight tweaking to economy and we could have had 9-9.5 experience here. But, this is ND cube who are infamous for making some of the worst. So for me to give an 8 is good. I really like this game here and I know it’s mostly a review stating the negatives but the OCD side of me tends to look at those because I want perfection, which I know is hard to pull off in MP. But aside from the gripes it does feel like the original Mario party, which many of us wanted, without motion controls, online and good graphics. I hope they continue with dlc and patches.… Expand

    one of the best mario party´s in a while but if this is nd cubes way to make a good mario party thats kinda sad
    that aside this game has a ton of charm and the remasterd boards look really good the game overall looks reallt good altho i think horrorland looks really flat

    and its a lot of fun to replay these boards again
    now for some things that dissapointed me
    bland character selection
    only 5 boards sure these might have taken a while to remake but only 5?
    like why not at least 2 per game or gamecube boards
    not any extra modes like card party or fun things like that
    too many lucky spaces and you get to many coins

    is the game good yes but its lacking in a couple things
    this game is 10x more fun than super mario party and even tho its old content nd cube did a good job and i think this wil be my go to mario party for a while

    lets hope the next mario party is actualy good
    and that wil show that nd can make good mario party's
    if the next one sucks than nd cube just need to quit if they can only make a good mario party by using old content    … Expand

    Hands down the best Mario Party game we have gotten in over a decade (since Mario Party DS which released back in 2007 to be precise). A true to form classic Mario Party experience, this is the Mario Party game we have long been waiting for. Any long time fans of the series will absolutely love this game for returning to its core gameplay mechanics, however when it comes to the newer fans who only started playing the series with Super Mario Party, I’ve been noticing a lot of them being skeptic about Mario Party Superstars because of things like its smaller roster of playable characters or its lack of originality, but I assure you that this game is a far better and more fun Mario Party experience than Super Mario Party or any other Mario Party game that has come out in the past decade, I guarantee it. The positives greatly outweigh the negatives, in fact the negatives are so small that they are almost negligible. In conclusion, Mario Party Superstars is a must have game for all Switch owners and should now replace Super Mario Party as your go to party game.

    Disclaimer: Most of the not so positive reviews I have seen are from people who are not very experienced or knowledgeable with the Mario Party series and thus have no understanding of what fans want with the Mario Party series so I would take their reviews with a grain of salt, but you can take my word for it as I’m a long time fan of the series and have been playing the series since the N64 games and have also played almost every game in the series.    … Expand

    At the start I thought it is finally a good mario party. But sadly it ended up beeing dissapointing again. Only 5 boards, too much randomness and suddenly everyone gets coins for everything, the items are way too cheap too. So coins are now irrelevant because you always have more than you can spend.

My girlfriend is not a gamer but we have weekend gaming sessions that revolve around the accessible multiplayer gameplay Mario titles bring and we were looking forward to this release for months. It did not disappoint and brought us away from our recent weekend staple, Mario Golf Super Rush, for a solid eight hours of gameplay in a few days.Excellent Mario Party addition to the Switch. I truly hope they continue support, as they do with Mario Golf Super Rush, with additional boards and content this will be a 10/10 in my eyes.     Un excelente trabajo, por fin, un digno Mario party, no se veía desde el Mario party 5, espectacular, gráficamente magnífico, una joya que se disfruta en familia, la jugabilidad es espléndida, la música está arreglada que es plausible, muy recomendable. Posiblemente es el mejor juego de Mario party de todos los tiempos.

    After essentially feeling scammed by Super Mario Party, I was wary about going into this one. But this is easily one of the top 5 Switch games and has everything I wanted and expected from Super, and it just oozes soul.

    Complete online functionality, meaning you can play the actual boards online with friends or strangers, and is hands down the best online of any Nintendo game to date.     Complete online functionality, meaning you can play the actual boards online with friends or strangers, and is hands down the best online of any Nintendo game to date. Most of the time it's been seamless gameplay with no lag or stuttering, almost like I'm just playing on the couch with friends. I've disconnected once, but was able to rejoin again (CPU plays your character in the meantime), however I've read the host disconnecting could mean you can't continue.

    Maybe it's not a good idea to praise a game too much on its nostalgia factor and to wear those "rose-tinted glasses," but it needs to be said that Mario Party Superstars really captures the essence of playing those classic games as a kid. Same old Mario Party games with a fresh coat of paint, the graphics are great.

    My only want right now is a way to open an online lobby for randoms. It is easy enough to start a room and post the room ID in an online forum to get more players together, but there should really be an online lobby list similar to Mario Golf: Super Rush. If you only have one friend who wants to play, there's no way to fill the other two spots with randoms unless they have your room ID.

    Anyway, love the game, and it's shocking that it seems to be flying under the radar a little, maybe because it's poorly titled. Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars are similar names, but Superstars is the best Mario Party we've had in at least a decade.    … Expand

    Excelente retorno desses mini games das antigas, com gráficos atualizados. A diversão é a mesma dos anos 90, e pela primeira vez oficial pela Nintendo o jogo está em PTbr, atraindo ainda mais o público Brasileiro.

    This is the Mario Party game I've been waiting almost two decades for. Takes everything that makes Mario Party so fun and adds online matchmaking which is exactly what Mario Party needed. If they add characters and maps in later as DLC it'll be the ultimate Mario Party game

    I knew this game would be a banger. After the first reveal at E3 this has been my most wanted switch game of 2021. If there will ever be some dlc for it i would also buy it.

    One of the best party games ever made, and I've played nearly all of them. Playing with friends is preferred but online has been just as fun with almost 0 lag. This game has given me some of the best multiplayer experiences I've had in years. A must buy for any Switch owner!

Mario Party done the right way I've been playing the N64 Mario Party games with my brothers and my parents who also use to play when we was kids nothing like trailing behind your older brother by 1 star and some coins the boards and the music is very nostalgic it's definitely a game worth picking up its competitive but it's very fun I think anyone that wants to play can pick it up and just play.… Expand

    I have played all 5 boards of the game two times by the time I am writing this review, the game is really great, if you ask me what is my fav MP games I would say 4,3,6 and then maybe MP superstars, I am glad this one is going back to it is original root.

    pros: - great qol on gameplay, it is so smooth almost no loading time, really great work. - good 5 board all in all, not GREAT!     - money is easy to get in this game, the lucky blue circle are unnecessary in these boards.
    - shop items aren't great and they could use more advanced items.
    - game is so heavily in punishing the winner and going easy on last place player, yes this is how it was before, but now it is very obvious.
    - only 8 characters you can play with.
    - no story mode.
    - it is still possible for someone to buy a star and the next star will respawn right NEXT TO HIM!

    great game but could have been much better, if you want to play this game with fixed rule, I would say no one allowed to buy golden pipe and you can't buy 2 stars in one roll, have fun.    … Expand

    A much needed rendition of classic Mario Party with some smart balancing tweaks and quality of life upgrades. Still can be brutal, but also feels a bit more fair. The best Mario Party package in years. Hopefully a couple more boards and characters coming soon.

    This is the Mario party we grew up with. They absolutely nailed it with this game. While i hope we get more boards in the future, hoping the developers don't stop supporting the game. The on-line runs really well.

    Amazing game, one of the best in the series, it's been awhile since we had a Mario party this epic before. The multiplayer is also very smooth, which had me surprised since Nintendo's online isn't usually the best.

    As a total package, Mario Party Superstars is indeed pretty super. But is it more super than Super Mario Party? That's the real question, now that the Switch is hosting two distinctly different Mario soirées. [Issue #57 – January/February 2022, p. 71]

    A great party game that threw away the chains of unnecessary and counterproductive innovations from the previous episode. It relies on proven content from several previous Mario Party games, which works almost flawlessly in the new jacket. Maybe it would need more content, especially plating boards.

    Mario Party Superstars is basically a celebration of the Mario Party franchise. But technical issues still haunt the online multiplayer, besides the lack of attention regarding minor details, which ends up hindering the fun factor.
