I usually download and try out every F2P game that gets released on the eShop just cause hey... it's free. It's worth it because you will occasionally find gems like this game.

It's developed by a team called Stormcloud Games Limited based out of Scotland who did some mobile and VR games and also support on the multiplayer game elements for Crackdown 3. What's weird is the game is published by the National Westminster Bank which is what initially had me very skeptical on this. Apparently NatWest wanted to release a children's game to help them develop money management skills which sounds completely awful but it came out really well done.

Other people have mentioned it reminded them of a smaller version of Slime Rancher which I never played so I cannot compare but also heard good things about on Steam. A quick scenario of Island Saver is basically set up like an FPS but you use a vacuum gun to suck or spit out things like using it to collect trash or spit out water to clean the island. Your main goal is to clean each island (the game has 3 in total with an added 4th which is paid DLC) by collecting and recycling trash, planting trees, feeding the animals that appear, and fighting off some basic sludge enemies that appear every now and then.

I mean, it's nothing groundbreaking, and it's about as easy as you can get because it's aimed at children 6-12 according to the devs but it's still kinda wild how solid the game is for what it is. The graphics are nice and colorful and basically remind me of something like Croc: Legend of the Gobbos but in HD. The sound effects and music are also surprisingly well done.

Definitely a worthwhile game to download for those with children or even for adults if you want a really laid back and comfy experience to just grind at. The game is super chill and if you want to 100% the game it will actually take you some time, around 5-10 hours. If you like it there's a DLC island with dinosaurs that's $5. I enjoyed it enough to get it because I feel the devs deserve some support for this.

Honestly when I downloaded it I was a bit weary because it was free, but man! This game exceeded my expectations. It is obviously geared towards children, and teaching them to recycle, but even as an adult I find it so charming. The bank and tax systems really add to the experience for me. It is a bit hand holdy, but it's no worse then some of the newer Pokemon games. 10/10 I would recommend if you are bored with your current switch library or if you are just starting to build one. You go around and pick up trash, and they try to teach you various life lessons about taxes and trusting salesmen and other stuff. The message is a little heavy handed, and as with most overly moralistic lessons, it's not all that cohesive.

But, this is really fun, and it's a great kid's game. There are three giant levels that come for free. You can buy two more for $5 each, but it's hours of gameplay for absolutely free. Anyone that owns a switch should download this game.

Initially loading each level takes quite a while, though, but the load times aren't bad once the level is loaded.

The waiting times can be very extreme depending on witch animal, I think some of the fruits take way to long to grow witch gives an overall boring experience Expand
