INSIDE is definitely a good game, but I can't say that it's great. The design and captivating story of the game really is up there with the best of them. Having said that, I found this to be more of an interactive story telling simulator than a fun puzzle game. Personally most of the puzzles in the game were too easy and in short supply. It often felt that my objective was to travel from end of Puzzle A to beginning of Puzzle B rather than actually solving puzzles.

    Final Recommendation:
If given the option to go back in time and not buy the game then I would. I felt for 3-4 hours of clever but not overly challenging puzzles did not match the $20 price point. However, for gamers looking for a quick game that is visually stunning accompanied by a great story then this might be right up your alley.

While being far superior than Limbo in terms of technical aspects, Inside has unfortunately nothing else to offer. If I had expect another Limbo, I'd probably want to play something better than predecessor. And since Inside tries (in general) to be Limbo's successor It actually delivers less in this regard.

And yes - I get the meaning behind the ending (both secret and regular), but

If you were to compare this game to Limbo, Inside is just worse game. It's not their fault though. It was difficult task to deliver another new and captivating "Limbo"... having Limbo in their portfolio. I wish this was different game, because Playdead certainly has potential in creating games with "nice atmosphere".

Inside is a beautiful and dark game that left me with a lot of thoughts at the end. Another work of art from Playdead, the same studio that gave us Limbo (2010). These games have an amazing setting and environment that reminds me of my own dreams. Without any dialogue, most of the story is told through the world's environments, leaving a lot to the interpretation of the player.

This game is perfect for forming theories and gathering your own points of view about the world. Personally, I think Inside is a metaphor for the dangers of authoritarianism. There are hints to this all over the game. However, there is so many things that point to other themes, most notably: individualism, curiosity, rebellion, environmentalism and the loss of innocence.

The gameplay and game design are great. The lack of UI and really any context give Inside a feeling that I haven't seen in any other games. The animations are extremely smooth and take advantage of the console's controller functions. Some puzzles are annoying, personally puzzles are some of my least favorite aspects of a game. But the beautiful score, feeling and atmosphere of Inside make this a great game.

INSIDE compares very favourably to other gorgeous platformers with shallow mechanics (e.g. Gris). Like those, however, it leaves you wishing there was more to it.

The game looks very good but thats about it. I'm glad it was on sale -90% so I didn't waste any more money on it.
Basically playing this game is only moving slowly to right, performing a slow clumsy jump occasionally and pushing some boxes. Not much a game in my opinion, it's almost same as if I just watched the whole gameplay video from Youtube.

Artistically (visuals, sound, music, story, presentation ) this game is a jewel. But the gameplay is not great. The character moves , runs and jumps too slow. The gameplay is very tedious at times. Some of the puzzles made no sense at all. Hit a couple of invisible walls at times. The visuals are too dark sometimes, making it hard to see things on the background. I finished it but wasn’tArtistically (visuals, sound, music, story, presentation ) this game is a jewel. Inside was a really interesting game. The puzzle mechanics felt a little hit or miss, some segments had me totally hooked and really interested in what was to come next, but others did feel somewhat slow, and prompted me to try to rush through them. I think the overall aesthetic of the game was fantastic, there were some fantastic thematic moments scattered throughout, and I was really invested in discovering the world in which the game was set. Overall, the game gets top marks from me as a narrative piece, but the puzzle mechanics, whilst certainly novel and intriguing at times, left me wanting a little by the end. Expand

    绝佳的美术风格,渲染到位的气氛给游戏体验增色不少,但是个人仍然感觉相对一般,游戏游玩过程比起机制或解密更多像是演出,基本玩起来就是像看了个动画而已

INSIDE is a very symbolic game and I'm sure whatever story there was, was interesting but I just couldn't become invested, each section of the game felt like a hallway with no destination, while being fun to solve puzzles it left a lot to be desired.

As many people as possible should have the opportunity to experience Inside. [Issue #35 – September/October 2018, p. 21]

Like Limbo, Inside is short, mechanically addictive and emotionally haunting. It’s the perfect addition to the Switch’s growing library of now-portable indie hits.

Inside is an awesome game that is even more horrifying than Limbo. The best thing about this game is the mode and the way everything in this world wants to kill you. The adventure is a bit short but you will definitely love it if you enjoyed Limbo.
