The universe's greatest heroes have gathered to compete in a showdown for the ages; the legendary HyperBrawl Tournament! Armed with unique weapons and a thirst for glory, take to battle-tested arenas in this 1-4 player arcade-style sport played locally or online.

Only the universe's elite champions can summon this incredible skill. The HyperCurve lets you seize control of the ball mid-flight to 'magically' manoeuvre it around the opposition and obstacles to score legendary goals that could only happen in HyperBrawl. The fabled HyperForce runs through your very DNA, channel it to launch game changing attacks that can literally see your enemies shot out of the arena with its devastating power.

Already fabled heroes of their own worlds, competitors are drawn across the furthest realms to compete in the HyperBrawl Tournament. Choose from 12 heroes in three classes and load them out with lethal weaponry combos and paint their armour for victory.

Travel the vast expanse of time and space to HyperBrawl arenas from the home planets of the heroes themselves. Take in Chrome City's elevated stadium with its Cyberpunk stylings, the ancient stadium of Steelhenge or the demonic Court of Azdritch. Each arena is laden with perilous obstacles and traps that layer more challenge and unpredictability into every game.

HyperBrawl’s beat-’em-up-meets-sports gameplay is frantic fun that leads to tense matches and clutch moments. The progression means that you have things to work toward if enticed, but the lack of story and multiplayer options may limit your willingness to get too invested. Still, developer Milkytea has something special here in the core gameplay for those that are interested; that interest just may be short lived.

HyperBrawl Tournament is a fun and addictive futuristic handbrawling effort that arms its players with a wealth of weapons, tools and attacks and unleashes them on a variety of obstacle-filled arenas that make for chaotic and surprisingly strategic matches. Things can get a little muddled in handheld mode from time to time, docked games can feel a little sluggish here and there and we'd love to have seen proper 2v2 human matches facilitated online but, overall, this one's a decent offering that scratches that Rocket League, arcade sports itch.

Hyperbrawl Tournament is a game that has a solid concept but doesn’t quite stick the landing. With a game that would have benefitted from greater depth in the gameplay loop, it’s still a title that will result in isolated enjoyment.

Hyperbrawl Tournament’s core gameplay is a lot of fun, even if the bots are a bit annoying. It’s just a shame there’s not enough people playing.

HyperBrawl Tournament brings a heap of chaotic fun to the Nintendo Switch, especially on multiplayer. Therefore, it's difficult to understand why the multiplayer options are so restricted and, for a game that doesn't stand out on a solo experience, why its artificial intelligence shows some consistency problems. In any case, for those having multiplayer brawls, HyperBrawl Tournament is jam-packed with frantic action.

HyperBrawl Tournament plays like a big-studio freemium title, but without any of the big studio polish… and it isn't free. It might work well enough within its own context, but the player base is non-existent, plus the AI is too frustrating to make bot matches fun. There seems to be plenty of content to unlock through ranking up, but frustrating matches offer little incentive to do it. If the developer can build up a player base, this might offer a bit of fun, but as-is there's just not much to keep people coming back to this Switch version.

Hyperbrawl Tournament is an enjoyable enough sports game, but in its current state, it's a little bloodless and uninspired.
