While it's not the best looking FPS on Switch, Hunting Simulator still manages to offer an experience that brings something new to the console’s growing library of software. The issues with its tracking system will rankle both veterans and newcomers, but if you can move beyond this roadblock then the bullet mechanics and actual minute-to-minute hunting have plenty to offer. Just remember to pack some sandwiches before you head out, because this is no pick up and play purchase.

Hunting Simulator is a niche game only recommended for hunting lovers. Its visual section is precarious, it has a lot of bugs that ruin the game experience and its campaign mode tests the patience of almost any player.

This game is for a niche audience, that enjoys hunting and has patience.

It's not the best looking game out there, but it's a good standard on the switch's library, specially if we're talking about realistic looking game.
The game is objective based and doesn't really have a story to follow, you just select X objective and finish it.
You spawn in a map of your choosing, it's usually huge, however, the game has a marker system that almost everyone can follow. If you get near a clue, the game will give it a white marker, so you don't miss it, said marker indicates the direction of the animal, and the time the animal left said clue.
After this, you just need to follow the trail, until you meet the animal, it doesn't take a lot, usually between 2-7 minutes, however, you need to be careful since animals around you can see, smell and hear you, so if you're near your objective, you need to go slowly, so you need to go prone.

The game has a currency system, when ever you kill an animal, you get some credits, said credits help you buy better guns, as well as scopes and items that can be useful, obtaining credits is not hard, but sometimes it does get tedious, and you need to kill animals to get them, and shooting will alert all animals nearby.

The game has several levels with different difficulties, but even if you select the hardest one, you will not have a problem with hunting down your objective.

Do I recommend the game? Yes, to whomever is interested enough, give it a try, it's on sale once or twice a year.

You basically choose a task, like shoot a sheep, then go off to shoot a sheep. Thing is, you’re on a huge map with very few sheep. And you better not run, because any sheep within about a mile will hear and run away. So get used to walking, very slowly, through an empty map in the hope you see a sheep. Then creep up to it slowly and shoot it, without gyro controls, if it doesn’t run away first, which it probably will. For some reason I feel like playing it every now and again, but I imagine most people would be bored out of their mind. It’s the slowest game I’ve ever played and it looks pretty shoddy. Some of the grass textures levitate and if there’s small branch with a few leaves you’re not walking through it, you’re walking around it because it blocks your path like a brick wall. Do I recommend it? Not really Expand
