Nov 9, 2023Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is an ideal game for racing game lovers. Its new mechanics such as jumping, the large number of vehicles to obtain, and its overwhelming number of game modes make this entry an ideal one for fans of the franchise. Although there is still room for improvement, the team at Milestone is on the right track.

Oct 16, 2023Fans of Hot Wheels will feel well served from a nostalgia point of view, and inspired by its huge number of new modes. Unleashed 2: Turbocharged combines furious arcade race challenges with childlike creativity, being able to build tracks any which way, and race them to breaking point. You can feel the Switch’s lack of muscle, with a markedly smudgier feel than the grip offered by more powerful consoles, but as a racing experience bursting with customisation, modes, and creativity to mine, it’s both an excellent successor to the 16-Bit Micro Machines legacy and sits firmly in pole position over its predecessor.

Oct 25, 2023Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged is just as fun of an arcade racer as the first game, and the various tweaks and improvements to the formula makes it a far smoother experience. It feels like it’s sometimes just a little much for the Switch, with moderately lengthy loading times and some resolution issues, but the actual racing action keeps its speed properly. Some players might run into some issues with the challenging post-game content, but that’s why it’s in the post-game. If you enjoyed the first game, you’ll probably like this one even more. Series newcomers should feel comfortable jumping immediately to this sequel, too.

Dec 4, 2023Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged, like its predecessor is an enjoyable arcade-style racer. Developer Milestone continues to show they get how to incorporate Hot Wheels in new ways. If you spent a lot of time with the original Unleashed, then it hits hard to find the game takes some steps back, but if you want some new environments and tracks, then it might not matter.

Oct 19, 2023Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged innovates in some aspects in regards to its gameplay and the ability to download community tracks, but the game stays essentially the same as the previous one with no substantial addition - besides the flawed community tracks that don't allow play against bots.
