    Her Majesty’s Spiffing has some of the sharpest, funniest writing I’ve seen in a games and it has the rare accolade of being a point-and-click adventure that follows actual real life logic. But it’s all over far too soon and leaves an unsatisfied feeling with plot threads just left hanging.

    Her Majesty’s SPIFFING provides a short jaunt into space. The gameplay is a shallow enactment of the genre, played out as a prolonged joke, but at its core, this is a game that places Britain in the spotlight and has a right old laugh.

    Her Majesty's SPIFFING is a lovingly made tribute to the point-and-click adventure genre of the early '90s, with a likably cheeky and surprisingly topical sense of humour. Its traditional underlying mechanics, however, can't quite cash the cheques its script is writing, and it's all over a little too quickly.

    Oh man it pains me to write this. I was really hoping this would be good. I've even met one of the devs and he was a great bloke; but alasOh man it pains me to write this.     Her Majesty's Spiffing is an adventure game. Don't worry if you forget that, they'll make sure to remind it to you. This game has to get some reward for "Most 4th Wall Jokes per Length". I think the first ten minutes has at least 3 of the buggers.
    You'll notice I said minutes there, because the game is extremely short. I finished it in less than 4 hours and I was just dicking around, trying every action on every item in hopes of getting a funny joke. I actually checked online and it was possible, if you knew what you were doing, to finish it in less than an hour.
    But adventure games are all about quality over quantity, so is the quality there? No, not really. You can forgive the 2008 graphics, but the jokes fall flat, the plot goes nowhere and is full of holes, the puzzles are downright boring and the writing is OK at best. Basing your entire story on referencing other, more successful, stories does not make your story good, ‘boyo’.
    The only saving graces are the voice acting and the environments which are more creative than the rest of the game. Also, technically, the title is solid. No crashes, no framerate drops.
    It’s a shame but also a cautionary tale of what can happen when your heart is in the right place but not your capabilities. Hopefully they will try again, this time after reading a book or two on good story telling.    … Full Review »

    To conclude, Her Majesty’s SPIFFING is a fantastic indie game on the Nintendo Switch and compared to its competitors on the platform isTo conclude, Her Majesty’s SPIFFING is a fantastic indie game on the Nintendo Switch and compared to its competitors on the platform is punching way above its weight! The writing is clever and funny, the art is well made and the game runs flawlessly on the Switch. HMS is great for both new and experienced point-and-click adventure players, as the puzzles are logical and intuitive. Unfortunately, the bugs did spoil my experience of the game I little bit, but hopefully your version won’t experience them. I hope the game sells well on the Switch so we can see more releases from Billy Goat Entertainment, so go and buy this game!
