Oct 3, 2025By the time I rolled credits, which I did so across two sessions in around three hours, I was left wondering where I could re-add colour into my own life. I can’t transform into an object like Henry can, but it’s quite illuminating to look at the objects in my home like I could. I felt compelled to pick up my guitar, to finally use that pretty notebook to journal some ideas. Henry Halfhead is unlike any game I’ve played, and it’s not one that’ll appeal to all. But for the sentimental amongst us, those with a penchant for the poetic, it’s a cathartic experience I’d heartily recommend.

Sep 16, 2025Henry Halfhead is at its best when it allows us the freedom to do whatever we like, play around with object interactions, and enjoy the narrator’s responses to our decisions. I loved hearing about Henry and the constant color commentary. It’s so much fun to experiment! The only thing is that since this can have some physics game properties, some tasks might feel a bit more tedious than others or could involve some unexpected camera effects and perspectives that might involve some temporary discomfort. Still, it is generally delightful and fun to play with for two or three hours.

Sep 16, 2025It's simple, sweet, adorable, unique, and wholesome, and sometimes amid the chaos and noise of action games, RPGs, and first-person shooters we often see in the autumn, something delightful and easy is all you need.

Sep 16, 2025Henry Halfhead is short, simple, and not a game you play for depth or challenge. But if you’re open to its playful charm and quirky touch, you’ll find a unique little experience that briefly lifts you out of the everyday grind.

Sep 29, 2025Henry Halfhead is essentially a semi-open playground that rewards curiosity and ingenuity. It works best for children as the tasks are not very difficult or demanding. At first, playing with everything seemed refreshing, but the idea quickly became boring. The end result is a warm, playful but not very memorable puzzle game.
