    The rudimentary nature of the game underneath all the moody presentation mean Gynoug’s appeal is probably going to be limited to the most die-hard shoot-’em-up fanatics, historians, and those with a nostalgic connection to it. But that’s all the more reason to preserve it in a readily available, accessible way—and with the suite of conveniences layered over the top of , that’s exactly what Ratalaika Games have achieved.

    In most respects, Gynoug is a rather plain horizontal shoot-em-up. The art design and music elevate it somewhat, but it’s hard to imagine a more meat-and-potatoes mechanical experience. For its part, Ratalaika Games has done a nice job of presenting the game with this offering. You’ve got all of the expected options, and a few more besides that. If you’re looking for a good way to play Gynoug/Wings of Wor, this will assuredly satisfy your needs. For those completely unfamiliar with the game, it’s a decent enough shooter, though I can’t say that it’s much more than that.

    The gameplay is faultless in what it does, but Gynoug doesn’t do anything to stand out. If you are nostalgic towards the game or those alike, you’ll get much more out of this than someone brand new to Gynoug. Unfortunately, I was the latter.

    Gynoug is a classic side-scrolling shooter that has only been improved upon with its move to the Switch. However, its unaltered style and gameplay mean that it won’t appeal to everyone, despite some concessions for accessibility.

Può infastidire chi odia le sfide, ma dopotutto è bello in tutta la sua crudeltà. Poi, se non fa per voi, potete sempre utilizzare le nuove opzioni messe da Ratalaika Games.

    Comunque resta il fatto che è molto piacevole da giocare e bello da vedere in tutto il suo splendore. Ciònonostante quel che pecca è che questo piacere dura poco. La presenza di soli 6 livelli non permette un rialzo del livello di rigiocabilità e magari l’aggiunta di qualcosa di nuovo avrebbe potuto risolvere questo problema. Ma comunque, se siete alla ricerca di un gioco di vecchio stampo che vi metta i bastoni tra le quote, potete comprare Gynoug senza problemi. Tra l’altro il suo prezzo, come già detto, è troppo basso. Forgoing the futuristic sci-fi aesthetics most shooters aim for, the very organic and sometimes a bit grotesque sights you’ll encounter here are both distinctive and memorable. Unfortunately the general flow of things isn’t quite as unique, but I’d say the more middle of the road than average difficulty may also help make it more approachable then, though getting no real direction on what the power-ups are can make runs early on feel more trial and error than it probably should be. Still, if you’re a big fan of retro shooters or are simply eager to see a game that pointed in a very non-traditional direction and decided to go all in on making the most of itself this is definitely worth a look.
