Ghost of a Tale follows a courageous minstrel Mouse named Tilo on a perilous quest to escape the dungeons of Dwindling Heights Keep and discover the fate of his true love, Merra. Set in a medieval world where Rats rule over all other creatures, Ghost of a Tale weaves an epic, yet intimate story combining elements of classic adventure, action-RPG, and exploration with a rich and highly immersive visual style. Armed with a mouse’s talent for stealth, agility, and disguise and a minstrel’s talent for music, you'll explore the decaying keep, from its expansive woodlands and lakeshore to its spider-infested catacombs, evading its many dangers and discovering its most ancient secrets.

Dwindling Heights is a dangerous place for a little Mouse, and Tilo's hardly a fighter. When confronted by deadly enemies twice your size, guile and swiftness are your only allies. Talk to the denizens of Dwindling Heights, make allies of your enemies, and leave no stone unturned in your quest to find Merra.

Ghost of a Tale is an essential indie game for your Nintendo Switch in 2020 thanks to a magnificent port. We can enjoy exploring with Tilo and discover all the lore of this fantastic world with anthropomorphic beings.

Ghost of a Tale is and does a lot of things, some impressive but not all of them great triumphs. The game’s stealth mechanic, before it’s traded in for a suit of armor at the cost of greatly-decreased movement speed, is hardly enjoyable, and many aspects of navigating the world are tedious and cumbersome. But the game does put its best foot forward with the world it constructs, especially for those willing to dig through all available lore, and how it presents this world both visually and by incorporating some lovely original music. There’s room for improvement for future chapters — Tilo’s quest is far from over — but what’s here is an impressive, if not flawless, first effort for a new, intriguing IP.

7 hours of idk what to do
Ghost of a Tale is a good game, but it definitely isn’t for everybody..
And im one of those people…
It wont hold your hand, you wont know where to go to get what you need off of much more than remembering seeing something somewhere.
that being said, I can appreciate the good that is here!
You play as a mouse in a world full of rats, you escape a jail cell and youre in search of your wife…
This is a bit of a horror stealth game, you sneak, distract, steal, run and hide, trying to not gain attention, but I found this to be pretty impossible for the most part… this definitely isn’t a game for those that are impatient or easily annoyed as ghost of a tale will annoy you…
At first Ghost of a Tale seemed like something I could get into, search all the rooms you can, go forward, gtting keys and clothing items to increase your stats, find all of its secrets, but the moment it opens up into a souls like world with everything inter connecting is wher Ghost of a Tale started to lose me..
At that is a very personally me, as I find Ghost of a Tale to be a good stealth game, if you have the patience, this game is a beautiful stealth hidden gem.. the mechanics are great, the gameplay is tense… you can venture down different paths to unlock abilities to put guards to sleep, complete quests and steal coins to unlock helpful items such as maps.. though really, this game feels like a maze.. pun intended.. a map rarely helps, its still really confusing getting around in this game even after you’ve been through it.. I still found myself unsure which corner to turn to get ot a spot I know ive been to.. to add to the frustration, much like a hitman game you have to save a lot when you make progress, it isn’t as simple as unlocking a path or gaining an important key or item for the game to save, the game will only save after dialog, or you can manually save while your hiding after you’ve been detected and lose line of sight.. and back to the diaglog, none of its voice acted, and with such a colorful cast of characters, I feel like this would’ve been a nice touch to add to the overall polish feel of a ghost of a tale…
Ghost of a Tale is a good stealth game.
But again, it may be a game that frustrates you more than intrigues..
And if you are one of those players who get intrigued, youll be rewarded with how well this game comes together,
I give Ghost of a Tale
    a 7/10
