Gems of War starts off as a fun and simple match-3 puzzle game with RPG elements, but a ridiculous difficulty spike and predatory micro-transactions will put most players off quickly.

The gameplay is addictive but also deep, there's plenty of different cards, classes, abilities, items and strategies to test out that takes match-3 and turns it up to 11. When I first started I was in awe of how much content there was and there's plenty of guides to help new players but over the last two years they've added a ridiculous amount of content. It's easy to start and easy to get lost in, highly recommend for fantasy fans as the team behind it also has a lot of the talent from the warlords and warlords battlecry/puzzle quest games.
