The only reason I am not giving this game a perfect 10 is because of the ambiguous ending. The cinematic and score were beautiful. The gameplay was fun and whimsical. There was enough "dark" in the story to remind you that you're not watching a Disney film. Really good looking and good playing game! I can't wait to see what else this studio comes up with!

Beautiful game. I picked it up for the art style and didn't expect much else from it. I found the story surprisingly deep and interesting and enjoyed the light puzzle elements.

Try the demo to see what this game is about. All I’m going to say is that I recommend playing this for the ending alone. I have never experienced such an ending in a video game. Gotta respect the developers for not going down the fan service route.

Going into this knowing it was more story than game helps. This is 80% story, 20% game. With that in mind, I was able to enjoy this game: the artwork is superb, the voice acting is very good and the music is excellent. If you like what you see, and want more story than play, then you will probably like this game. I did.

Played the demo and was intrigued by the art style and the story, so I got the full game. Beautiful art, animation and music, Gameplay is a bit lacking, but still rewarding.

Incredible beautiful game, artwork, animations and voice. The story is interesting and fun enough to enjoy from the beginning to the end. Nevertheless, I missed more deepness and complexity in the gameplay, as well as more puzzles and platforms when going through the story.

Excellent third party game, probably the polished one that I've tried beside the main titles. The story and the art direction is amazing, and so the message, you won't find a really happy ending but is all so well designed. Hope to see a movie from this. Some will find this a short game, but has the perfect duration

A wholly expansive world and magical controls are all implemented together beautifully. Now, I tend to have an issue with multiple-choice endings, so this is more of my own problem, but I just didn't sit right with the choices given.

This game is only a few hours long, but the story is very intriguing and the Forgotlings are cute. The platforming parts were too long at times. But the characters and dialogue made up for it. You can also make some decisions to alter the story.

Forgotton Anne is essentially a playable cartoon that feels like an anime by Hayao Miyazaki. The story is compelling and the voice-acting is phenomenal for such a small game. The animation has a fairly low framerate, and I'm not sure if that's because of the limited hardware of the Switch or by design, but the cutscenes are animated with the same framerate so the experience is consistentForgotton Anne is essentially a playable cartoon that feels like an anime by Hayao Miyazaki. The puzzles and platforming is not very intuitive, and the controls are sometimes sluggish which makes making progress slow at times, but not impossible.

This game is not a masterpiece but does exactly what it needs to do. It tells a story the whole way through on a unique concept - things you forget in life. It tells a story the whole way through on a unique concept - things you forget in life. That sock under the bed, those headphones you threw away, that iPhone you discard to go to the next one - the world is built around this concept and in a lovely fashion. I can't get over how orchestral the music is and how uniform and aesthetic the game is. I think the parkour is pretty random, platforming things and puzzles seem like a decent way to add depth to the game and not just have it as a movie. I guess that's one advantage games have over movies - choices and different outcomes from the watcher. I can't say the ending is satisfying, and I have no idea how to see the other endings without playing it again. I thought the VA's for the forgotlings were all weird. But after you notice that its that way on purpose, the forgotlings have a unique charm which is pretty consistent - while Bonku and Anne, humans, have crisp and nice voices. The two outliers were Tiffany and Fig, I'm not sure if this is connected to anything - but the characters are very well done. Graphics 9.5/10 - I like how contrasting the opening visuals are from the game, also the opening animations as well. I wish they played with those other art styles as well. 9/10 music - there was never an out of place music, but at the same time, there were no marquee tracks the likes of Radiant historia, Nier. Plot 8/10 - while the plot twist was obvious it doesn't take away from the story - however, the ending does. The pacifist ending is abrupt and feels like your playing that game where everyone in a group says a sentence to make a story. Its your turn and you have to end it up - thats what this games ending is. Sufficient but unsatisfying. Otherwise, big ups to this game for the unique and well done concept of the forgotlings. Gameplay 3/10 - lol, in a vaccumm just looking at the gameplay, no pretty music or graphics, this game sucks lol. Run around, parkour, get pushed around the map beyond the realms of physics, chase some dude, move some gears this way that way, go to a walkthrough after you give up on a puzzle - see the answer and still wonder how its a puzzle.Overall - strong 8/10. Despite its title, Forgotton Anne is far from forgettable. Its story is deep, its characters are nuanced, and its journey is emotional and powerful. Unfortunately, its stiff platforming and uninspired puzzles hold it back from being a must-play. For fans of adventure games, Forgotton Anne is a surprising gem that'll provide plenty of memorable moments over the course of its 7- to 8-hour run. For those looking for a more cohesive melding of story and gameplay, however, there are simply better options available.

Its artistic style is simply great. In addition, it has an interesting story of guarantors of order against rebels that works perfectly with the main mechanics of taking actions in the role of a police officer in a city in crisis.

The actual gameplay is rewarding and only introduces the slightest of stumbles that are negligible compared to the agency and interactivity afforded by being a video game. In terms of gameplay, there are certainly titles that offer greater variety and complexity, but the beautiful visuals, fantastic soundtrack, compelling story and likable characters easily elevate Forgotton Anne to the level of being a truly excellent game.
