    FORECLOSED combines the playability of video games with the sleek visual aesthetic of comic books. Everything from game-play to cinematics are experienced within the stylistic framework of a graphic novel. Full screen and comic panel perspectives are seamlessly blended as you move throughout FORECLOSED's Cyberpunk city, uncovering a gripping conspiracy story. Cutscenes are also interactive and transition smoothly between alternative game-play styles.

    Utilize experimental augmentations, weapons and tech to fight back against your enemies. Modify your Symbiotic Pistol with Explosive Rounds for maximum damage, or, go silent and equip the Stealth Bullets mod. Learn to control your augmentations to fight opponents and manipulate your surroundings. Acquire superhero-like abilities such as telekinesis to launch your enemies into the air or hurl huge objects at groups.     The story, while occasionally perplexing, is full of heady material to chew through. It’s the kind of narrative that would require an additional playthrough, totally possible thanks to its roughly 2-4 hour campaign with selectable chapters. The gunplay may be a tiring affair of shooting lemmings in body armor, and the other elements are both underwhelming and frustrating, but Foreclosed is a gorgeous game with a big-ass brain. It just hasn’t quite figured out how to apply that yet.

    While perhaps the results aren’t always as great as developers may hope for, I do have a great appreciation for games that take some risks inWhile perhaps the results aren’t always as great as developers may hope for, I do have a great appreciation for games that take some risks in their design. With its somewhat kitchen sink-ish melange of gameplay styles including stealth, outright shooting, puzzle solving, and various action-y sequences stuffed into a very cyberpunk comic book look, Foreclosed has no lack of ambition. In execution? OK, so perhaps it can be a bit uneven in both the general quality and certainly the balance in the difficulty as you proceed. That said, I like the setting the look, and on the whole the pretty unique mix of gameplay this title has to offer. If you’re looking for more of an eclectic game that will throw some surprises and challenges at you, Foreclosed may be a bit unrefined but it can also be a pretty good time.

It’s still a gorgeous looking game despite its faults, and offers an intriguing tale, so if it’s of interest to you then perhaps opt for the Story difficulty – or wait for a damn good patch to come along."
