    * Real challenges: It is all about how good you are at the game, not about an "exp" system or other RPG elements that reward your patience. The full moveset of every character is available from the start, so, you do not have to worry about leveling-up anything except your own skills as player!
    * Additional Insane Difficulties: Near impossible extra challenges for pro-gamers (which are not mandatory to unlock all game content).
    * Extremely Polished Gameplay: The playability is focused on fully responsive controls and intuitive commands. The characters can cancel normal attacks into special attacks, release themselves from enemy grabs and perform several chain movements. You will feel the power of controlling a character that perfectly responds to your actions!

    Story:
    In a far future, Earth was devastated by mutants who took control after a worldwide catastrophic event known as "the big pulse", a global scale electromagnetic pulse that put an end to all electronic technology on the planet. Humans are now enslaved by mutants led by "The Boss" in a world ruled by "the law of the jungle".
    However, not everything is lost two humans and a mutant rebel are willing to fight in order to stop this madness. Will they be strong enough? Well... that's up to you!

    Main Characters:
    Gal: A girl who escaped from traders of humans. She's an expert in her own kick-boxing-derived martial art. While her attacks don't have a long reach, her speed and agility have no equal and her technique and endurance are pretty good too. She is capable of avoiding almost every attack, an ability that comes in handy when facing multiple foes.

    Ricardo: A minotaur human-rights activist and a powerful wrestler. He's not very fast and his technique isn't as good as his comrades', but he has a pretty long reach, and his power and endurance are amazing. He's capable of destroying any enemy in record time!

    F. Norris: A runaway ninja whose past is a mystery. He's the one who mastered the ninjutsu style known as "the forbidden technique". While he might be pretty fragile compared to Gal or Ricardo, he has a great combination of reach, power and speed, plus an amazing technique that (when mastered) can take control of any situation.

    Its surprisingly deep and satisfyingly weighty combat engine combined with three strong and varied player characters and a host of cleverly-designed enemies elevate it above the usual button-mashing experience perhaps expected of entries in this genre. It’s got an excellent arcade mode that branches off in various directions as you make your way to the final boss battle, as well as a ton of unlockable modes and extras to keep you coming back for more. Whether you’re a learned fan of old-school beat’em ups or you just like pummelling the life out of mutant punk pussycats and monkeys dressed as Bruce Lee, you owe it to yourself to experience what Sebastian Garcia has created here; it’s easily one of the best beat’em ups we’ve played.

    Its paths and its excellent controls make this game an interesting and very replayable beat 'em up, especially if you share the screen with up to two more friends.

    In the end, Fight’N Rage can’t escape its short run-time which is prominent with every Beat ‘Em Up game (they were originally created to serve as short Arcade experiences, after all), but the branching story paths, combo-heavy characters and numerous unlockable extras more than make up a full package filled with incentives to keep playing. As a modern throwback to Arcade classics, Fight ‘N Rage is one of the very best in the business right now.

    Fight'N Rage has a name that suggests an old school beat'em-up and that's exactly what it is, a tribute to some of the classic names of this dimension of gaming that was so popular in decades past. But that's not the only thing that Fight'N Rage gets right - its gameplay mechanics amount of content, different endings and top notch audiovisual environment all contribute to make this one classic-style beat'em-up that is worthy to enter the Nintendo Switch of any fan of the style.

    In some ways the game feels pigeonholed by its genre and its aesthetic qualities don't do it any favors, but Fight'N Rage elevates the hot-blooded action of old-school beat em' ups to new heights.

    Fight’N Rage reminds you of a classic ‘90s arcade game, though the controls don’t hold up. Otherwise, with nostalgic graphics and music, it’d be a great game.

A big fan of the genre I like double dragon neon and the new Streets Of Rage and this game has a little bit more complexity to those games. Similar in ways to another game called shing it has a very interesting set of combos to learn and master but they are far easier to pull off in this game then in shin.… Expand

I thought the male fan service was unnecessary (which I still find to be extremely true) and the overall presentation was lacking. Well, I took a chance and realized that it looks way better in action, and holy moly does it have the quality where it counts. For those who enjoy beat em ups, it's all about how it "feels." This game feels incredible to play. The depth is perfect for a game like this.... not as intense as a fighting game, but way more to do than just walk up to an enemy and hit attack as fast as possible. It's one of those games that when you put it down, you just want to pick it back up and keep punching those baddies until they explode into a pile of bones.… Expand

    I am an absolute fan of Oldschool Final Fight/ Streets of Rage games. So seeing this on the eshop made me curious. The few, but very goodI am an absolute fan of Oldschool Final Fight/ Streets of Rage games. So seeing this on the eshop made me curious. The few, but very good reviews for the PC version convinced me and so I bought it. The game is an absolute dream for me.
    The controls are simple as they usually are in these games. But the developers put some thought into the gameplay, so with just three buttons and a stick you have almost perfect control over your character. There is so much depth, especially after unlocking the training mode you realize how much there is to the gameplay.
    Graphics and sound are very nice, it uses 2D sprites but has some very advanced 3D-distortions and parallax scrolling effects. Sound imitates the old sound chip sounds but has some very good tunes.
    The amount of unlockable stuff is absolutely insane. Costumes, modes, characters, etc. Since all three characters play differently and there are different paths there is also a lot of replayability.
    So this sound all very very good, so why only 8/10. I realize I am a massive fan of the genre, so for me this is easily a 9 or a 10. But I think I should be objective enough to see, that even with all the unlocks, the total amount of content is limited, and given the game is a several year old title for 19,99€ in the eshop, this is hard to recommend for everyone. Also for some the gameplay might still be a bit too shallow. So 8/10 seemed right for everyone.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bought Fight'n Rage today. This is a great game if you're the kind who likes beat-em-ups. Though having beaten the game on Easy mode, which...eugh that was a slog, I feel the game has a few major problems
    But first, I'm going to talk about the good things, because I don't want to push people away from the game, because despite the issues, this game is fun.

    Postive 1: the music. The soundtrack is awesome. I love the rocking soundtrack.

    Positive 2: the multiple paths, endings and choices. It's pretty cool that this game gives you multiple story choices to make, which ultimately lead up to which ending you'll get.

    Positive 3: you can play as the bad guys. Not many games let you do this. Ive only seen it with 3 games. Streets of Rage 4, Double Dragon 4, and this game. Although I don't really like that you can only use them in the Extra modes, and not the Arcade. Positive 4: No Multiplayer trophies! You don't need to join other games, don't need to revive people, don't need to worry about Multiplayer whatsoever. Just go, have fun with your buddies. Problem 1: the fact that there's no online multiplayer. Now while this may be great in that it's keeping up with the "retro style", it's not good in the long run because if you're aiming to unlock everything, which requires you to S rank the game with every character in every mode, beat all difficulty settings and get all endings, some of which require you to play in multiplayer with certain characters and do certain actions with those characters. It's a massive slog, even though you can run through the game with a unlockable CPU team, which...whyyyyy? .

    There's also the difficulty spike. Easy mode isn't available straight away and you have to pay coins, earned ingame to unlock it. It's also not that much easier than Normal mode, and sadly you don't unlock anything by beating it (except a trophy achievement, if you are playing the PlayStation/Xbox/Steam version). Which, comes to problem 2: unlocks are tied to "Beat the game on Normal mode or above" Easy mode also punishes the player by making it harder to earn coins. 1000 points = 1 coin, as opposed to Normal mode where it's 800 points are needed for 1 coin (and less depending on difficulty, I assume). So you're basically forced to play Normal and above if you want anything extra.

    Problem 3: Saving mid game. Game saves are called "suspended saves" and if you exit mid-game, you have to choose the exact same Character and difficulty to continue from where you left off. If you change the difficulty or character? The suspended save gets wiped and you have to start fresh from Stage 1. Thankfully this doesn't affect your unlocks, just your progression in the story. Problem 4: Lives system. There's only a very small handful of Lives and it depends on what difficulty you pick. This is the same as in games like Streets of Rage, but unlike Streets of Rage 4, there's no "Assist" where the game gives you extra lives or makes you more powerful in exchange for your score and Rank. Thankfully you can get more by racking up a certain score parameter.

    Problem 5: Health items. In every beat em up game, enemies drop health items, or even 1Ups, the latter being rare, but this? Barely anything. It really needs to step up on the health items, especially late game and especially on harder difficulties. No one's going to want to play a game where they constantly die

    Overall: 3/5 stars Challenging and fun at its core, but a bit too overwhelming at times, especially when it comes to unlocking extra content. I wanted to like the game, but it's too unreasonable with unlocking stuff. A casual player would never be able to do it. Not without online multiplayer or hell, 9 lives at least as start up.    … Expand
