This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I can't think of single negative thing to say about this game, it's very much super Mario 64 game with lots of mysteries. The developer of this game has done their job superbly. must say this is a great game I've played ever. I played many versions of Mario Game but this is really Fantastic. I will suggest you go and play this game. Expand

What else can I say? It's Fez! And it's amazing on the switch. I love this game so much. And I'm so glad they ported it to the switch. I was waiting for this day! Nothing but joy happiness and love for this game.

I loved this game when I played it on the PC years ago, and it's a perfect fit for the Switch. Controls have been ported extremely well, and are actually IMHO an improvement over the original (that said, I never played it on the Xbox, but either way, I have no complaints here). Gameplay is smooth and so far (after a few hours of playing) seems largely glitch-free. A very clean port.

As for Fez itself, what else is there to say that hasn't already been said? A beautiful, relaxing, and incredibly charming 2D (2.5D?) puzzle platformer with an interesting twist: every level can be rotated in 3 dimensions. Level design is fun and interesting, and the puzzles are a bit challenging, but never frustrating. But where the game really shines is in effectively capturing that coveted sense of exploration and discovery, similar to the most effective, well-built Metroidvanias. Overall it aged remarkably well (it's probably timeless given the graphical style), and is highly recommended if you like open-world exploration, and quirky, well-designed platformers.

Fez is a very clever puzzle/platform game, you can tell how much thought and detail has gone into creating the 2D-3D dynamic play system. I enjoyed most of what was around 5-6 hours until completion. My only complaint was there were too many secret code puzzles (a few really is enough) but fortunately you don’t have to do too many before you complete the game. If you fancy a cheap mind-bender (and world-turner) with simple controls this game may be for you.

Great puzzle game and the shifting dimension mechanic is really smarts and works well with the game. There are some puzzles though, that are really tricky and feel like some of them don't even make sense. But if you don't want an 100% walkthrough, you will beat it fairly easy and have fun.

Fez is a very easy-going experience for the most part, but it is also very capable of presenting a diabolical challenge to anyone looking for one. The descent to an otherworldly nightmare glitch-world is something that is not often done in video games, yet it makes a lot of sense; especially for something that focuses on a theme of perception and dimension. While the creator of Fez may have his issues, his game has very few and is very pleasant to play.

With its exquisite, beautiful game world and its still fresh and ingenious gameplay mechanics, FEZ is a marvelous puzzle platformer and one which will undoubtedly remain a timeless classic ten more years from now.

Despite its age, Fez manages to feel as entertaining and relevant as it ever was — it’s a puzzle-platformer that expertly hides a deep level of difficulty behind a surface layer of relaxing action, beautiful music and attractive graphics. While there are no new features of note on this Switch port, what’s here is still as scrumptious and inviting as it ever was.
