Like many games based off a popular anime. Fairly Tale is a hidden gem in it’s own weird way. The story take about 30hrs to complete, and cover 3 story lines mostly from season 2 of the anime. Not like fire emblem but more like South Park. You combat menu constant of attack, item, magic, and defend. Escape is optional, and you got a ability called awakening which mainly use to boots ur attack damaged, but if you save it up it could save ur life in the heat of battle on boss fights. All magic attack are really too powerful and ur standard does nothing. One of my complaints is guest character well used most powerful attack to end a fight quick and you just stand there watching the same animation over and over again. You also got a meter that fills up to do a team attack. If you want a fun jrpg go for it, but this game really for the fans of fairy tale. Expand

I love fairy tail anime, watched every single episode. Because I am a fan I loved the game. Battle system was fun, graphics are anime like and good, music is great.
For non fans this game will kinda suck, the story is all over the place, so many parts completely deleted... The pacing of the game is too random, and the quests were just so repeated that made me sleep several times.

Buenas animaciones, pero misiones repetitivas y poco original, fiel al manga, dentro de todo me agradó, hay que ser muy fan de la serie si

Gust’s Fairy Tail game is one of those adaptations where it feels like the developer really understood what people love about the series.

While coming in at the end of the 11th story arc of the show might feel like an odd starting point, the game does a good job with a quick introduction of the characters. While it may leave some questions if you are unfamiliar with the series, it still gives enough information for newcomers to enjoy; Fairy Tale enthusiasts will certainly have no trouble knowing what is going on. Fairy Tale is certainly a solid game on the Nintendo Switch.

For fans of Fairy Tail, I recommend turning on a podcast and smashing some monsters with your favourite Fairy Tail characters while filling up various experience bars. Not a fan of Fairy Tail? Then I don’t see much to keep you around. Some of Gust’s charm and design comes through, but not enough to make the game stand on its own. The story is likely to be almost incomprehensible without prior knowledge, and corners are cut in all aspects, from the environments and quests to the combat. I enjoyed my time with Fairy Tail less than I thought I would, but I sincerely hope Gust gets another chance at making a licensed RPG, just without all the budget cuts.
