Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm is by far my favourite all-around simulator to date. With its cute style, creative creatures and special attention to what players want from their sim games, Phoenix Labs has delivered an outstanding title.
-
Nov 16, 2023Phoenix Labs has delivered a magical, inclusive game with many useful features that lead to a stress-free and fun experience. The NPCs feel a bit shallow, but that doesn’t take too much away from the game.
-
Sep 13, 2023If you love Stardew Valley, Sun Haven, and the earlier Harvest Moon games, you are sure to find yourself enjoying your time in Fae Farm. While there were some concerns about the pricing, it’s easy to say that it’s worth it. Fae Farm has hours of content to play through and it’s clear to see the amount of love that went into it during development. The attention to detail is amazing, and it certainly sets a new standard for the genre.
-
Sep 8, 2023A gorgeous looking farm sim that doubles as a dungeon crawling adventure game, you can spend your days farming and crafting or fighting and solving mysteries. It’s all there plus romance options. The sound design is a little odd at points and a lot of the NPC dialogue is flat, but the game’s charm and feeling of progression that occurs as you achieve more goals more than makes up for it.
-
Sep 6, 2023I found Fae Farm to be full of fun content and it was incredibly entertaining. There was so much to do and nothing felt repetitive (even though you’re technically farming and gathering every day). I was able to play for hours without realizing it, and slowly I was able to improve my home while making a fortune. Of course, it took a while for me to get there, and there’s no rush at all. There aren’t any quick wins in Fae Farm, so just relax and enjoy the experience in your own way.

Sep 7, 2023The more farm games you try out (and the more you appreciate the genre), the more you see a pattern emerging. To appeal to the majority of its audience, a farm game has to be addictive, and Fae Farm is undeniably a sweet little treat that you want to keep coming back to. It has to be interesting enough not to bore you over the long term, and Fae Farm offers a range of activities and areas to explore, so you can still marvel at the game even after dozens of hours. Of course, Phoenix Labs' newcomer is not without its faults, but on the whole it corrects so many of the mistakes of its predecessors that it's impossible not to fall under its spell.
-
Sep 6, 2023If you’ve been waiting for another lifestyle game to sink countless hours into, Fae Farm should be on your list. It’s fun for all, allows for plenty of customisation and sprinkles plenty of magic over the top for good measure.
-
Sep 6, 2023It manages to make you feel happy and relaxed with just the right dose of adventures. It's not for hardcore players, of course, but you'll appreciate it if you just want to escape to a more colorful reality.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm is one fun farming sim with tons to keep you busy for many in-game months as well as a large world to explore beyond the farm. The only thing it's missing is a substantial family system so pick it up if you're more into the farming and adventuring side of things.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm is a typically complex farming game that casts a spell over you with a (too small) touch of magic and enchanting creatures. You'll be chronically broke, tired and drained, but pretty happy.
-
Oct 5, 2023Fae Farm simplifies farming to a point where you might not want to come back to the old ways of Animal Crossing and alike. It may be a different cup of tea altogether, but there’s just something satisfying in snappy and dynamic actions with zero wasted time. It may grow repetitive after a while and may not be awfully long, but surely is a refreshing title for the ever-growing genre of farming games.
-
Sep 24, 2023If you're looking for a magical farming sim that does most things right, this is it.
-
Sep 12, 2023Fae Farm is a polished farming sim with a magical flavor that excels of the genre greats in many areas, but also one that falls short in some key ones. The repetitive dialogue and character designs right now are the big caveats. While the latter is subjective, Fae Farm can address the former and truly reach its full potential. I look forward to seeing how it evolves through patches and content updates, but right now Fae Farm is worth checking out if you’re a fan of the genre. It is like a magical remix of the greatest hits in the genre, but one that is chock full of things to do with its own charm.
-
Sep 7, 2023Fae Farm breaks the mould by introducing a variety of elements that work in the context of a farming RPG, while at the same time introduces many fantasy elements that just make this different enough to stand out from the crowd. There are some technical hiccups that can be ironed out in future patches, but even if you’re sick of farming on your Switch, I do recommend checking this one out.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm is a cozy experience that mixes farm and adventure games quite well. It has many different mechanics and a very appreciable multiplayer. However, it also has its negative points, such as an uncharismatic cast of characters and long loading screens. All in all, it is a very versatile and content-rich game that will delight fans of the genre of all ages.
-
Sep 6, 2023If, on the one hand, Stardew Valley has become the ultimate farming sim, Fae Farm has the potential to become the ultimate cozy cooperative farming sim. Fae Farm's philosophy is just one: to make the experience of a farming simulator as relaxing as possible by removing everything that might get in the way. To do this, it takes the complex and diverse systems and mechanics of farming simulators and strips them of responsibilities, dull repetition, the most time-consuming grind, punishments and frustrations, then covers it with a cozy environment, full of relaxing tasks, with music and visuals that, on the whole, work in its favor.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm provides entertainment for a long time, and the experience of living in Azoria is a fantastic adventure that is very worthwhile.
-
Sep 6, 2023Despite some shortcomings in "human" relationships with NPCs and an even lower than expected challenge rate, Fae Farm is an excellent exponent of the genre thanks in part to the magic element and the emphasis on exploration.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm is incredibly inclusive, offering a very comprehensive character creator full of aesthetic options that reflect a variety of backgrounds and cultures. It’s a game that I can see a very bright future for - one that is full of undeniable longevity and promise. In fact, I’m already curious to see what adventure my character might be taken on next. Despite having already sunk many hours into Fae Farm, I know with certainty that I’m not going to stop improving my new little home anytime soon. Fae Farm is the gaming equivalent of cosying up with a blanket and a warm cup of tea - albeit a cup of tea that, on occasion, may leave a mildly unpleasant taste. There are improvements to be made but it’s a game that’s comforting, entertaining, and oh so very easy to get lost in.
-
Sep 6, 2023When I booted up Fae Farm, I wasn’t expecting it to become one of my favorite relaxing games of the year. It’s one of those games that I can see myself keeping on my Switch for a good long while when I just need to detach for a bit and go on autopilot. It’s an added bonus that it’s also a game I can play along with my wife after putting our baby down before turning in for the night. Phoenix Lab has brought a serious contender into the crowded farming sim and cozy game space with Fae Farm, and while there may be some issues I’d like to see addressed in a future patch or sequel, I still found it to be an incredibly solid first entry of a new IP. Now, if you excuse me, those queen bees won’t catch themselves.
-
Sep 6, 2023While it’s content to build on the past, rather than completely innovate the cosy sim genre, Fae Farm establishes firm foundations, and presents a neat twist on familiar gameplay.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm is a delightful, addictive, and unique farming game with a lovely art style and interesting world. Though the price tag may seem heavy, it’s worth it for fans of the genre who crave a new agricultural adventure.
-
Sep 6, 2023From its Cozy Score system to the fact a warm beverage will grant a special buff to better handle the rain, the world is full of creative design choices and small touches that make the title feel like a sort of love letter to the cozy genre. Fae Farm is a game that's easy to sink many hours into, and with post-launch content already planned, it's exciting to think about what the future holds for the already expansive title.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm is a little rough around the edges, but there's so much to do with satisfying pacing and tons of loveable characters to meet.
-
Sep 6, 2023A gloriously thoughtful and beautiful farming game that's packed to the brim with details and charm, Fae Farm is unfortunately let down by its lacklustre NPCs and social dynamics. But with the rest of the game being so enticing, we're almost willing to let it slide. A handful of bugs, a bit of a grind, and a sinfully boring husband can't quite take the shine off this wonderful, whimsical world that's full of things to do and discover.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm can flip-flop from feeling new, fresh, and polished to an Early Access title that needs some refining, but if Phoenix Labs has the resources to follow up with post-release patches, they could address every qualm I have. None of these things would require a total overhaul, or to be thrown out and started again from scratch. It’s things like balancing enemy damage, capping the number of times an animal can be interacted with per day, and reconsidering the relationship between potion ingredients. Despite its teething issues, Fae Farm is a worthwhile game with a lot to offer. With the correct follow-up tweaks, it could become the next go-to game in the farming sim genre.
-
Oct 19, 2023At the end of the day, Fae Farm is just like any other farming sim. Its conceptual design incorporating fairy elements is innovative in theory, but its inability to make good on its whimsical promises is where it falls short. While I did enjoy exploring Azoria’s world, I doubt that the prospect of fairy wings at some point in the future will be enough to keep me coming back for more.
-
Sep 8, 2023I have played a lot of farm sims in my day. Fae Farm is one of the better options available, especially if you have three other friends that you can play along with. Fae Farm falls under the cozy game genre, giving off a relaxed and pressure-free atmosphere more so than hurry up and plant those seeds. It provides diverse customization options, including skin tones and pronoun choices; it also streamlines farming tasks and simplifies tool selection. Crafting and decorating are also present, as well as dungeon exploration. But like a lot of cozy farm-style games, this can feel repetitive after a while. Can Fae Farm hold your attention long enough to see it through? Probably, especially if you can do it with a friend or three.
-
Sep 7, 2023This is a more relaxed take on the farming genre, with more guidance, but also some key mistakes that prevent it from achieving something bigger.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm adds a lot of great quality-of-life improvements to the farming sim genre and makes magic with its soft and comfy art style. It’s unfortunate that it falls short in a few important areas such as the interactions you can have with NPCs, because the rest of the game is incredibly solid. It does also take a long time to get going, and those first days in the game will feel a bit like a slog, but once you start uncovering the more fantastical side of the island there is a lot of amazing stuff to discover. If you are looking for a new farming sim to try, especially one with magical elements, Fae Farm might just scratch that itch.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm is a nice and cozy life simulator, but a dull cast of characters and a repetitive gameplay keep it away from greatness.
-
Sep 6, 2023Nice farming game that lacks variety over time.
-
Oct 27, 2023Fae Farm is a rich and gorgeous looking life sim and farm sim experience. There is a wealth of things to do, harvests to reap, items to make, resources to mine, and characters to engage with, all this in a very inclusive environment that puts the player at home. Where Fae Farm does less well is on its adventure component, as the dungeons feel too forced and repetitive, and with so many things to do it's easy to lose track of things and feel overwhelmed. Still, fans of life sims and farm sims have plenty to enjoy here, and Fae Farm boasts an impressive lifespan to match their expectations.
-
Sep 21, 2023Fae Farm is a game where the developers have successfully streamlined the more tedious pieces of farming, chores, dungeon crawling, quest completion, and exploration so the player can quickly dive into the features and figure out their sim life rhythm. The sheer number of things to do keeps the experience fresh and for the most part limits the tedium that this genre can be guilty of. Beyond the glaring technical issues, Fae Farm has a lot to offer for both new and experienced players of the farm sim if you can forgive it.
-
Sep 15, 2023A "cozy game" in the wake of Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley and other similar games. Phoenix Labs has drawn heavily from the inevitable sources of inspiration and created an all in all enjoyable and relaxing sim-farm that unfortunately, however, does not sufficiently deepen its fantasy and adventure soul.
-
Sep 6, 2023Ultimately, Fae Farm looks like a fairy-tale microworld, in which adventure and life and farming simulator dynamics merge. Net of an extremely accessible gameplay for the reference genre and a modest narrative frame, the Phoenix Labs title presents itself on the market as a coherent and well-packaged product. In wanting to offer a fantastic setting in which to seek first of all lightness and relaxation, Fae Farm has a clear focus and manages to decline it in a pleasant way. For the more experienced user and lover of the more articulated expressions of the genre, the PC and Nintendo Switch title will hardly be able to offer something new, but the IP remains - in our opinion - a valid alternative for younger players or for those who is looking for an undemanding experience, but at the same time cared for.
-
Sep 6, 2023A great family introduction to the sublime space of wholesome RPGs, Fae Farm successfully simplifies the cosy crop ‘n craft genre but accidentally dilutes the whole experience, resulting in an average adventure that struggles to stay engaging for solo players beyond the first few sessions.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm throws a ton of great ideas into its melting pot of cosy life simming and tense adventuring, and while its various ingredients don't always mix together as well as they should it's got enough unique hooks and wholesome vibes to make it worth a look in for genre fans.
-
Sep 6, 2023Fae Farm feels consigned to simply being the hot new thing in the cozy community, rather than an experience that’s as memorable and beloved as the games it has done so much to build upon.
-
Sep 6, 2023Barring its quest system and dull dungeons, Fae Farms is a solid farming sim that offers a ton of things to do in a fun and magical realm.
-
Dec 11, 2023A game with a nice art style based on typical farm games that does some things well and the rest just right. It suffers technically and goes unnoticed sonically.
-
Sep 14, 2023Fae Farm is packed with systems and activities, yet oddly enough, it’s a life sim that falls short in delivering “lively” characters.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 18, 2024Thankfully, though, each system is relatively easy to understand and the gameplay itself is fun, just as the simple dungeons are fun to navigate. However, if you're looking for a game of this genre and want a challenge, you're better off with Harvestell. [Issue#330]
-
Sep 24, 2023Adding a magical twist to agriculture certainly helps Fae Farm stand out from competitors, but unfortunately so does the myriad of glitches. These may yet be fixed in future updates, just like the latest one mended some bugs. For some, the cute vibe makes up for the aforementioned issues. It is still essentially an extremely fun life-sim, with a considerable number of quests to fulfil while sporting wings (after a set story point) and quirky characters to befriend, providing dozens of hours of gameplay for those with the patience to forgive the sometimes poorly executed parts that sorely need polishing.
-
Sep 14, 2023Though unambitious, Fae Farm is still a very enjoyable farming sim. It does miss the mark with its fantasy elements, but the game nails its core mission. Players are invited to revive a downtrodden world just like we've seen in previous sim legends. With a distinct art style in town, Fae Farm has a robust system in place for farming, gathering, and decorating. What its NPCs lack in variety is made up for in crop types. It is a solid investment for cozy sim fiends in need of a new time sink. But if you're looking for novel farming sim for your collection, Fae Farm is not the title you're looking for.
-
Sep 6, 2023I won’t say Fae Farm isn’t satisfying in some ways. Ticking boxes in many of the main and side quest checklists did prompt a response in me that made me want to keep playing. I did enjoy the ambiance and some of the ideas and concepts are sound. But the best way I can describe it is that it feels like Phoenix Labs decided it wanted to make a farming game, but then somehow made it feel like farming, ranching, and connecting with the community aren’t the focus of Fae Farm. I often felt it seemed like an action game that just so happens to include these farming elements as you’re engaging in crafting to head into the next dungeon.
-
Oct 10, 2023I wanted to love Fae Farm, but honestly, the full package was mostly disappointing. It is a game that tries to compete with the popular farming sims, but never quite does enough to stand on its own feet. While there are kernels of good ideas, they are marred by questionable design choices, with quests and goals that never feel satisfying. I am all for the coziness revolution, but Fae Farm, unfortunately, feels anything but.

Sep 6, 2023With dialogue this unsexy, it feels like Phoenix Labs added dating elements to its game because that’s what you do in a game like Stardew Valley, and that’s what women like...I’m ready to move on from that.
