    Shmup fans are going to find a passable game in here. The unique visuals and ability to choose your missions do help to set Escape From the Universe apart from the competition. The gameplay, however, doesn’t, and the general repetition and need to grind for credits make this a game that most will be fine to avoid.

    Escape from the Universe is an alright shooter but it is unremarkable visually and in terms of gameplay, with nothing likely to make it live long in the memory.

    It's an excellent shmup unfortunately let down from greatness by a lack of variety in the graphics, as well as controls that are just tooIt's an excellent shmup unfortunately let down from greatness by a lack of variety in the graphics, as well as controls that are just too sensitive and twitchy. When you get used to them, you will however find a fun frantic shmup to be had here. I have played it only in handheld mode and experienced no performance issues thus far. For the intro price I paid, was well worth it.… Expand
