The main thing, though, is that Easy Come Easy Golf is a joy to play. Whether you’re a newcomer to the sport/the developer or a seasoned veteran, this game will have something for you. It shows that even if the name on the game may have changed, it’s still fully lives up to Clap Hanz’s very high standards.

Whether it’s called Clap Hanz Golf or Easy Come, Easy Golf, it’s one of the finest efforts from this highly specialised, legendary development team. The Switch lets you enjoy the game without the subscription model attached (which is an inherent plus), and the price is more than reasonable for something that is this big. Grindy, yes, but once you fall in the habit of playing once or twice per week to check in, unlock a few things, and participate in a tournament or two, you’ll realise that you just never stop playing it. Over a year later, you’ll realise that you’ve chalked up dozens of hours and that this is one of the most fundamentally enjoyable sports games you’ve ever played.

    If you're like me and can't get enough classic-style golf, give Easy Come Easy Golf a try. It's not quite a hole-in-one, but still a sub-par game. (That's good, right?) [Issue #63 – January/February 2023, p. 25]

Easy Come Easy Golf is a great addition to the Switch library and it is one of the best golf games on the system alongside Golf Story and What the Golf. If you skipped this on Apple Arcade or don't want to play it on a subscription, the Switch version is worth your time.

If you’re satisfied with Clap Hanz as a subscription game on Apple Arcade, you don’t need to worry too much about Easy Come Easy Golf. It’s basically the same game. But if you want the game in a more permanent form, or you’re a Switch-only golfing fan who wants something a little light without the goofy chaos of modern Mario Golf, you’ll want to pick this game up. It’s well-made, content-rich, and enjoyable in a comfort food kind of way.

Easy Come Easy Golf comes with a wide range of brand new courses of stable quality. Its video tutorials make it an accessible game for newcomers to the genre as well. Easy Come Easy Golf could have the potential to create a new generation of golf game fans.

Easy Come Easy Golf is, all taken into account, very easy to recommend for fans of golf games, and a great Nintendo debut for the Everybody's Golf series. It's enjoyable and polished golf with some fun twists while offering a huge amount of content to unlock and solid multiplayer options. Even with minor performance hitches and some iffy audio, we found ourselves having plenty of fun and kept coming back for a few extra holes. It's certainly under par, in a good way.

Not much different than Everybody Golf, but that's not a bad thing. This is my go=to when I have just a couple minutes to kill during the dayNot much different than Everybody Golf, but that's not a bad thing. This is my go=to when I have just a couple minutes to kill during the day and I also love cracking a few adult beverages and playing tournaments with my roommate using the pass the controller mode. One of those fun easy to learn, hard to master type games. Expand

An excellent arcade golf game for the Switch, the antidote for those who were disappointed by the terrible Mario Golf Super Rush.

An excellent arcade golf game for the Switch, the antidote for those who were disappointed by the terrible Mario Golf Super Rush.

    Pros:
    > excellent gameplay, simple to learn but with a lot of depth to explore
    > 3-click or touch controls, both are quite fun and functional
    > 11 well-made courses
    > numerous characters with their own characteristics and favorite clubs
    > costs $20, 1/3 the price of Mario Golf Super Rush, despite being better in every respect
    > the game's fundamental gameplay is basically golf, without stupid gimmicks
    > the HUD gives you just enough information to be clear about what you're doing, but it doesn't feel like "cheating" where you know exactly the trajectory of the ball before the shot

    Cons:
    > 30fps + the Switch's natural input lag isn't ideal, making precise clicks more about prediction than reaction
    > 9 holes per course
    > online tournaments that are just leaderboards is behind a paywall (Nintendo Switch Online)
    > gameplay structure is that of a mobile game, so there isn't a well-structured campaign, but several events designed to be played in small sections
    > you can't save replays (I think)

    Neutral:
    > grind is insane, but it's a fun game so I don't know if it makes sense to complain about grind, unless you're an extremely competitive player who wants to level up all the characters as quickly as possible to win all the online tournaments
    > you don't use the same character on every hole, but assemble teams and choose the players you think are most appropriate for each type of hole, weather conditions, etc.
    > there are no motion controls, which I don't mind, but I think it might be a drawback for some people
    > graphics, although nice and well animated, don't have the polish of games like more recent versions of Hot Shot Golf

    Conclusion:

If you like arcade-style golf games, but were disappointed by the very low-quality cash-grab called Mario Golf Super Rush, then this is the best option for you on the Switch at the moment.
