Jul 28, 2018Dream Alone comes as the best alternative to Limbo. Its landscapes are sensitive with the genre, they are terrific thanks to the light of the environment, but this illumination makes it hard sometimes. Otherwise, being such an easy game can become a drawback when trying to be inside the story.

Jul 8, 2018Dream Alone brims with potential but falls slightly short in multiple areas. The concept and artistic execution is beyond intriguing, but certain kinks still need to be ironed out to make it a smoother and more flexible experience. The main musical score is hauntingly beautiful, and my only complaint is that I wish it were integrated into the levels more in place of the constant rain sounds that tempted me to mute the game on more than one occasion.

Jul 30, 2018I really wanted to enjoy Dream Alone. Whilst it's clear that certain aspects are inspired by the likes of Super Meat Boy, the platforming elements just don't hold up as well. The unforgiving deaths and inability to see where you're going most of the time makes the whole experience a bit of a disappointment.

Jun 27, 2018Dream Alone makes a valiant effort to live up to its inspirations, Limbo and Inside. However, it falls short of creating an immersive world that would cleverly combine fun platforming and crafty puzzles. What’s left are awkward, frustrating platforming and forced puzzles. Combined with an overly dark display and cheap level design, this is a tough recommendation for even the biggest dreamers.

Sep 10, 2018Dream Alone is an unpleasant experience. It really needed a great amount of polish to even be a recommendable game. I was really disappointment with the enormous headache this game caused me.

Jul 2, 2018Dream Alone tries so hard to capitalise on the inspiration from its formative peers that it forgets to carve out an identity of its own. The poor platforming engine, floaty controls, and frustrating level design leave far too much to be desired for this to be the game of anyone’s dreams.
